Detail Groove will you be uploading that video using the d151 for the black car?
Good video man, I’m totally on board with the AIO concept of a basic wash/wax detail, I bet the owner was shocked with the improvements!
@@mariaequihua8501 what is d151?
I did a vw hatchback just like that on Saturday Scott from DPC has a video like that so I applied and it really was a night and day difference
This is EXACTLY what i do in my “Paint enhancement” package. Use an All-in-one polish with quick passes working big sections. Removes light swirls and brings back tremendous shine & gloss. Very budget friendly package & satisfies 90% of customers in the real world. 👍🏻
What do you charge for that ? If you don’t mind me asking
@@isaacorozco6942 I charge 280$ for an AIO for small 2 door cars
I did the same thing to my 2018 Cad XTS the other day ! Came out great ! Does that mean I'm as smart as the Groove Man ? NO , I'm just a frustrated black car owner , with really hard well water !
Thanks for being real. A professional has the skill set to adapt to the circumstances given and still produces outstanding results, not follow a checklist.
Hd speed is one of my favorites for one step swirl removal, and I work on Porsche paint a lot and it’s super soft
I don't work on Porsches but do have a black car and HD Speed is the best AIO I've come across yet - just love it!
Would you recommend it in direct sunlight?
What pads?
It was about to rain during a detail I was doing and my vacuum broke. I start all details vacuuming and I do another quick vac after I'm done with everything.. Anyway... I couldn't leave the vehicle unvacuumed and used a soft brush to throw up the dust and my air compressor to blow it out of the vehicle.. Works pretty good if your vac dies.. Gotta use your time and resoursces differently in certain situations.
I love your flexible approach to each job bro. You’re doing it right in my eyes. Doing it by the book may work with a company, but as an entrepreneur, you need to change it up sometimes
Most of the time you can do the usual. Sometimes you have to mix it up!
Real world situations vs technically correct methods.
Sometimes you have to detail like a MASH unit instead of a master surgeon.
Great video.
You simply got to do what the paint tells you to do! There isn't a wrong way to compound/polish a vehicle. We get too caught up in doing these perfect cross sections, slow speed, etc, etc, . Every car is different. Every circumstance is different. It's a breathe of fresh air to see someone doing things differently and still getting the results. PERIOD!
Thanks man. Love your videos. Most the other detailers are too hyper-OCD for my taste. My cars are like nice tools to me, not jewels, so your flexible style works best for me!
I do that all the time :) if the car is very tired and customer is not paying for it. I do exactly what u did here and tell them i did it for free because it will look better and their jaws are always dropped and this is when i ask for a nice review and i always get one 😀
You know what you're doing. You're not being shady and you actually gave them more than they were paying for. I'll do things like this as well.
This is how I like to do a wash and wax myself. Applied like a finishing wax/sealant but worked in juuuuust a bit, 2 passes, side to side, up and down onto the next section. Polishes, cleans, shines and protects.
It requires just a bit more work and pads than a general wash/wax where you can use 1 pad to apply it all because you’re actually cleaning the paint and enhancing the gloss above and beyond a finishing wax.
DAM Clean Detailing to be fair, your probably just filling a majority of the imperfections with the polish oils. Good results, but a few wash’s later and most of the swirls will be back.
Fortis_Vir thats very possible no denying that, but the polishing action of the pad and fine abrasives will help overall. The main thing is to wow the customer, most don’t care about a few swirls and scratches, but if you show the work that you can do with a basic job, you might be able to up sell to a higher polishing package. Main thing would be to get them in a monthly package and perform this basic job every time. Different strokes for different folks!
So you are applying a sealant with a finishing pad?
That clip was nice he did a hell of a job on it! Thanks for all your hard work, from you continuing to detail your own work, post your work, your video and your advice. Three years in the business on my own but 26yrs total cleaning cars but I wouldn’t have started my own business with out your UA-cam page. A huge thank you Oscar!!
I’ve done this same thing with HD many times. Many, many, many times. I often recommend this over actual correction. I can offer it much cheaper than correction work, and it’s more practical for 90% of people out there (for a variety of reasons), and an easy up sell. It’s a win-win for us and our customer.
That’s how it needs to be done sometimes.. to many Detailers have this mentality of perfection on everything they touch and is simply not always the case.. great job oscar si que Asia delante and I’m waiting on episode seven on your podcast lol..
Yup yup I like it. In my head I’d be like” just don’t leave swirls, just don’t leave swirls” lol
Haha yeah I'm surprised how well it turned out
@Detail Groove
Thank you for sharing this and with utmost transparency. Your point about adaptation and working with what you have in the moment connected with me. The growing pains of learning paint correction is what currently has me flustered. I'm hoping this is something that I can confidently provide as a service soon!
I've spent these past good few years on getting amazing interior results, but learning how to correct the exterior has been more humbling in my opinion. Probably because the sun is evil, and I might even have a phobia of it lol. Anyways thanks again for this info, as I'm about to remove some holograms on a black car in the next couple days.
Why are you only replying to negative comments?! Keep up the great content! 👍
Haha that was right before I left to work. I reply to everyone the best I can
You weren’t cutting corners. You went above and beyond. You knew a basic wash and wax wasn’t going to meet your personal standards. Some customers don’t care enough to pay for what’s really needed. You enjoy making cars like new so you did what was best, not what was asked. I’ve done the same in the past.
I’ve had to do that plenty of times due to short notice schedule change so I would grab my microfiber cutting pad and using Polishing products to sort of remove some of the swirls and also gave the Paint more pop. While under the sun I would use a spray wax to spray the pad and keep it wet so I can keep working section
You didn’t need to polish the vehicle at all, but you did it for an extra smile I think that’s a W
Can't complain on that huh
Wont remove any deep scratches but will restore shine to the paint..
Awesome job Oscar!! 👍🏼👍🏼
Ya man thats awesome. Another product I like is AutoGlym super resin polish. Applied pretty much religiously by hand as it dusts really quickly by machine. Then i follow with a synthetic wax shortly after. Brings the car to another level. Obviously doesnt remove all th swirls but lord it does wonders. Good video Oscar. I lime this style

Now that’s some situational detailing as June Jones would say. Nice job!
You should male a video on restoring and polishing aluminum wheels. I bought some old aluminum rims and I'm trying to restore them
It turned out great. Good to always be ready to adapt and give a little more without giving too much away for free
That's a tough one. I never use one step product because I think they're crap. On my corrections I can usually get away with a cutting polish only. Particularly Menzerna 2500 with a Rupes yellow. You should be able to tell the condition of the paint on inspection then upsell a correction. After all you just give the customer what they pay for and maybe a little more.
Very good notion on your part. Sometimes you gotta do a little extra for your clients to wow them. These little things have a ripple effects
I love black vehicles. I have never owned any other color vehicle then black. I made many mistakes on my first vehicle and learned that black vehicles should be washed at night. When you polish or wax it it should be early morning or late in evening or the vehicle should be in the shade for a while before you wax or polish. Doing this eliminates the swirl marks. Do you have any other facts/ideas with taking care of a black vehicle? I love watching you and I have learned a lot. But when you do black vehicles........ lol I can't watch..... lol
Thanks for all your great ideas.
Bobbie
I really enjoy watching your videos, you provide so much info for a newly like myself. Starting a mobile detailing business and I watch your videos Everyday. Do I have to use a machine to do a wash and wax,for great results? Watching all the way in Canada !!!
That's awesome! I don't even machine apply wax. I either use 3d speed as my wax or spray wax.
Unorthodox.... I like that!
Been noticing half your product links are not working. Just a heads up is all. Keep up the excellent work .
Yikes! I'll check it out
Great video! Can I just use one pad?
As for raw footage to add colour back easily just add a LUT (look up table) onto it if in premiere just add lumetri color on the clip and from there u can add a LUT which will bring color out back to normal if chosen
I'm just not trying to edit raw footage lol
With polisher is that? If i want one for minor imperfections and one step is 5” or 3” backing plate better?
I have a black AMG that the dealer swirled in to next week, the paint looks 3 feet thick. Do you work out of Los Angeles by any chance?
11:09 You were credible until I learned you washed the car before wheels and tires 😉🤣
Just want to add an edit: I’m totally being sarcastic so viewers and Oscar know. He’s been putting out solid content for years!! Detailers for some reason love to 💩 on other detailers... lets be chill guys, learn from each other and keep open minds.
The guys who criticize him for doing paint first and then wheels/tires are the ones who’re gonna be out of business in 6 months bc they can’t get over themselves, ego and worried about doing something different!
Hey man great video ones again.... where you get dispensing jugs behind you thanks
Amazon.. not sure what brand. Just look around
So you're basically an actor by circumstance!
I'm totally into how you flip flop things up. Time allowances vary all of the time. I like seeing how you apply that to how you work.
Looking forward to that Sun Joe review!
Can you use the D151 in direct sunlight on a black vehicle?
@@Jayezz124 Me or Oscar? Just saying because it's posted below my comment.
@@midnightmystery544 sorry posted in the wrong spot
Is Meguiar's D15101 also a swirl mark remover? 🚘 🚙
How many times per year you need to do AIO for safest and best result ?
Add gloss, reduce clear coat removal, and go is best
Nice video Oscar 👍
It was a win . Win situation
Sure was!
It made sense 👍
Called finessing it
Can you use D151 in direct sunlight on a black vehicle?
What did you use for the aio?
How much speed you used on the polisher? 6 o 5?
adapting to a situation is not cutting corners
Too lazy to edit, too lazy to correctly clean, too lazy to care. Love it
Have you ever tried to color correct raw footage in FCP?
That music with the Vette wash was like car porn...was just waiting to hear the popular "OOOOHHH YEAH..."
can someone tell me exactly what i need to remove swirl marks, what machines do i need, what products should i buy. i am a beginner and do not want to burn my paint
Use a dual action polisher.. takes a bit longer but less likely to burn paint . Need polish and compound.. wool pad and then a foam compound pad ..
Hey how's all those Malco Products.
Imagine doing that with a rotary... 10min max?
Did you wax also?
Looking for someone in the Los Angeles area to remove swirls on a black 2014 mustang
What brand pad you use.
Oberk I believe
@@DetailGroove do you have favorite pad or brand you like or work wells with your machine. Without stalling out on you.
This intro video tho 👌
Is this what they call a color correction?
after polish what wax did you use?
D151 is an AIO: all-in-one. It lightly polishes and protects the paint one one step
You kinda remind me of the guy from think outside the box yt channel. Y'all have diff voices tho
Take ipa to it then we will see what it looks like I’m sure the wax is hiding most the swirls
gree 100000% i have the same philosophy
Cool video
🐐
yuhh!!
yuhh!!
Osmar Berrun ???
LETSSS GO!
Nah brah Danny can do it in 10
I look at a clip really fast with no sound, if i see the person more then the works there claiming..... time to go some were else...... just do the work and show your progress
Coolio
You waxed a car, you didn’t polish it.
Wanting to see process of polishing car ? And not only talking so im thinking its fake ?
If you think it's fake, then it's fake
Mike's video is yuck. Why do so many detailers feel the need to put terrible loud music with annoying synthetic girl squeaks all over their videos? Those of yours without the unnecessary noise are breaths of fresh air.
1 If you all haven't seen a documentary called... It's worse then you think... By revelations of Jesus Christ ministry... I suggest you do... All praise and glory to the most high Jesus Christ
