    It was about to rain during a detail I was doing and my vacuum broke. I start all details vacuuming and I do another quick vac after I'm done with everything.. Anyway... I couldn't leave the vehicle unvacuumed and used a soft brush to throw up the dust and my air compressor to blow it out of the vehicle.. Works pretty good if your vac dies.. Gotta use your time and resoursces differently in certain situations.

    You simply got to do what the paint tells you to do! There isn't a wrong way to compound/polish a vehicle. We get too caught up in doing these perfect cross sections, slow speed, etc, etc, . Every car is different. Every circumstance is different. It's a breathe of fresh air to see someone doing things differently and still getting the results. PERIOD!

    This is how I like to do a wash and wax myself. Applied like a finishing wax/sealant but worked in juuuuust a bit, 2 passes, side to side, up and down onto the next section. Polishes, cleans, shines and protects.
    It requires just a bit more work and pads than a general wash/wax where you can use 1 pad to apply it all because you’re actually cleaning the paint and enhancing the gloss above and beyond a finishing wax.

    • @2010MustangGT300
      @2010MustangGT300 4 роки тому

      DAM Clean Detailing to be fair, your probably just filling a majority of the imperfections with the polish oils. Good results, but a few wash’s later and most of the swirls will be back.

    • @damcleandetailing
      @damcleandetailing 4 роки тому +1

      Fortis_Vir thats very possible no denying that, but the polishing action of the pad and fine abrasives will help overall. The main thing is to wow the customer, most don’t care about a few swirls and scratches, but if you show the work that you can do with a basic job, you might be able to up sell to a higher polishing package. Main thing would be to get them in a monthly package and perform this basic job every time. Different strokes for different folks!

    Thank you for sharing this and with utmost transparency. Your point about adaptation and working with what you have in the moment connected with me. The growing pains of learning paint correction is what currently has me flustered. I'm hoping this is something that I can confidently provide as a service soon!
    I've spent these past good few years on getting amazing interior results, but learning how to correct the exterior has been more humbling in my opinion. Probably because the sun is evil, and I might even have a phobia of it lol. Anyways thanks again for this info, as I'm about to remove some holograms on a black car in the next couple days.

    You weren’t cutting corners. You went above and beyond. You knew a basic wash and wax wasn’t going to meet your personal standards. Some customers don’t care enough to pay for what’s really needed. You enjoy making cars like new so you did what was best, not what was asked. I’ve done the same in the past.

  • @usagimoto1423

    I’ve had to do that plenty of times due to short notice schedule change so I would grab my microfiber cutting pad and using Polishing products to sort of remove some of the swirls and also gave the Paint more pop. While under the sun I would use a spray wax to spray the pad and keep it wet so I can keep working section

    That's a tough one. I never use one step product because I think they're crap. On my corrections I can usually get away with a cutting polish only. Particularly Menzerna 2500 with a Rupes yellow. You should be able to tell the condition of the paint on inspection then upsell a correction. After all you just give the customer what they pay for and maybe a little more.

    I love black vehicles. I have never owned any other color vehicle then black. I made many mistakes on my first vehicle and learned that black vehicles should be washed at night. When you polish or wax it it should be early morning or late in evening or the vehicle should be in the shade for a while before you wax or polish. Doing this eliminates the swirl marks. Do you have any other facts/ideas with taking care of a black vehicle? I love watching you and I have learned a lot. But when you do black vehicles........ lol I can't watch..... lol
    Thanks for all your great ideas.
