I never thought of using geoshells to make skins... too simple I guess. 🤷♂️ Previously, I was spending hours modifying the main textures. Tried your way, took less than 15 minutes to get the same results (or really close enough). Thanks Parmy... once again, you helped save what little sanity I have left.
@@ParmyBaddhan Thanks to you mate, I literally started less than 3 weeks ago with daz and I already put a couple of your tutorials in practice, great help, thanks again! BTW, I tried aplying a geoshell por make up and the face dissapeared, I guess I didn't pay much attention, lol, but the textures on clothes look great thanks to you and your tutorials!!
@@RANInkTV I always take advantage of free stuff because you can learn from it. You will see the iray settings I used with the geoshells and you can use this knowledge to your advantage.
@@RANInkTV I still feel like a newbie with Daz Studio, so I completely understand your perspective. Keep practicing and learning and you'll be creating professional renders in less time than I did.
PC Specs: Intel i7-8700k 64gb ram 1TB samsung ssd evo (Daz Studio is installed on this drive) 2x 8gb nvidia geforce 1070ti graphics cards (note: Daz Studio does not work with sli-mode)
Do the geoshells not use the same uv coordinates as the base figure, if so a texture map used for all zones should create ugly seams, as making textures across skin zone seams and getting them to match is a pain unless you have a 3d paint program. Love the tutorial, gonna have a play around with the shells a bit now.
From my understand, correct me if I'm wrong, geoshells copy the UV of what ever you apply it to. Yes, the seams will mismatch and it is a pain to make them seamless. However I believe the seam issues are minimal and with postwork you can cover it up. It helps to have characters wearing clothing to cover the seams.
I cancelled my platinum account at daz. They have become a little too manipulative for my liking. Thank you for your tutorials. I will be teaching myself how to create assets to use from now on. Have a great day.
Just wanted to say, you, and your tutorials... rock and roll.
Thanks for your kind comment.

Thanks for the video. Do you think there is a way to trigger normalmap value with a blendshape value?
verry good.
Thank you!
Superstar mate . Can u export the go shells as model ?
It is not possible to explore geoshells as a model. This is the limitation of using geoshells.

That's what I try to do, create my own assets. They may not be of the quality like the Pros, but they get the job done.
Time to buy Mimic Lite and try to make Genesis figures talk
Have fun bringing your characters to life.
