  • There are a variety of tools you can use to remove ca glue, but it's important that they're hard and flat (try to avoid using your fingers when sanding down small amounts of ca glue).
The best way would be with a hard, wooden block that can handle the pressure and prevent you from getting hurt as well!
You could also use scrapers but make sure they are designed for this purpose because not all types will work effectively on wood surfaces.

As a woodturner I use significant amounts of CA glue. The surface shape that I deal with are generally convex and concave in nature. When dealing with the concave surface I can tip and or rotate the piece to put the area to be filled in a horizontal attitude and add my super glue in an effort to eliminate excess glue. I do this because it is notably more difficult to get a smooth surface on the inside where access is limited. In contrast, the convex outer shape of my turned piece will cause the CA to run away from the apex of the area to be filled. Exterior fills generally result in over fills that require sanding. My method of dealing with the overfill is to use files and riddlers to attack the overfill area prior to using sandpaper. I find that the hard double cut files allow me to hit the elevated CA area and not depress the softer sourrounding wood. Once the area has been brought down to a few thousands proud, sanding using a hard backed piece can finish the process.

      Thanks for asking, Eric.
We have a dedicated formula as a debonder that has a mild solution to break down the CA bonds.
I would like to share the link to the product - starbond.com/products/ca-glue-debonder-remover?_pos=1&_psq=debonde&_ss=e&_v=1.0
