We have three Astros in our home on our mantle above our fireplace. We’ve only had the Astros for a couple years. We bought them from Mathmos, originally Crestworth, the inventor you mentioned, about three years ago. Since then we have bought new colors in their bottle to be able to swap them out whenever we want. We bought several of the cheap “Lava Brand” that we have in the states, but none of them would satisfy. So we upgraded to the Astros. We really enjoy the lamps. They are beautiful, relaxing and therapeutic. I’d love to find a vintage Aristocrat or Century like you found. Awesome find!

I was in high school when they came out and they were the rage and very expensive. Good video!!

hey! I am also a collector of lava lamps, the one you have here is a prime example of the LavaLite 'Century' model 100 made by Lava-Simplex Internationale. I have one very similar to it with red wax and clear fluid. Yours is in impeccable condition!

I have that exact same Lava Lamp. Have had it for at least 40 years..... I'll have to hunt it up. It must still be packed away somewhere, from the last move.
