I wonder how well these would work over an acrylic painting for smaller details (a fine point pen?). Due to illness my hands shake too much when it comes to getting finer details...Looking for a way to do that without a paintbrush.
I havnt ever used fine art markers before to draw. Is it best to use a blender and brush, do the tips like yellow would get ruined right? Can you wash the ends? Just wondering how to keep them from getting muddy before the marker lives its life or is it best two have two of lighter colors one u know you will blend and one you won't?
Hello, I just bought the new paper for pigment marker by Winsor & Newton to try it. There are 2 sizes of paper and it's 175 g/cm² so they are thicker than the previous paper. I hope they are good because I live in France and the Yupo paper is expensive with the transportation fees...
I'm not sure if they're all doing it, but the Hobby Lobby in my area is clearing out their stock of pigment markers for $2.87 each. I'd give them a visit if you're interested in trying these out. Also, does anyone know if these are at all water soluble on water color paper? Or, if you were to scribble some on to a piece of plastic could you pick up the pigment with a damp brush and use it like a watercolor?
Yeah, a bunch of colors are discontinued and some store opted to clear their entire stock due to low sales. It's not just Hobby Lobby. I picked up about 20 markers at Michael's for around $1.50 each. Score!
Is there any sort of fixative safe to use with these that you can isolate layers with, because they’re not permanent when you try to go over the layer? Is there really no need to do this?
It's too bad that Winsor & Newton's paper for these is so thin. I don't like using thin paper either, but I've found that these move around more on the Yupo than on the W&N paper. On Yupo, I'm finding it hard to get the color to stay where I want it and build up layers. My strokes show white through them no matter what. Any tips?
Now I really want to play with my 12 set. I was really annoyed because when I bought them they didn't inform me that the were incompatible with normal marker paper and when I learnt that I discovered that there were no retailers of the paper in Sweden. It took approx. an additional 6 months before they stocked up on paper. I hope my markers hasn't dried up 😖
Aww tailless tiel! When I had a cockatiel he ended up being a tailless tiel for awhile after my cousin accidentally pulled out his tail feathers. It took a couple molts but eventually his tail grew back properly lol
it is!!^^ she worked on Yupo paper, which is made from polypropylene and is super smooth. Lisa added a link to this kind of paper in the description of the video.
maybe I am. I will start drawing again, after i stopped a month ago. Thank you for your comment it inspired me to draw again. (Btw sorry for my bad english, I'm not from an english-speaking country.)
These are lightfast, no other markers are currently. Plus, these are NOTHING like ANY alcohol based marker, they act completely different, and honestly, I would put the pigment markers down to being a completely different medium altogether...they're kind of like this weird hybrid of watercolor, acrylics, and marker.
I love this frog!! Very nice! I could sit and listen to you talk all day. Thanks for sharing!

For the finished piece, would you use fixative?
I haven't see nothing like this! Love it! Wow it seems really fun!
Very impressive. Great tutorial. Thanks!
Beautiful Frog! I hope I can catch the live stream later!
lisa, you can get make-up q-tips that are pointed at the end. Look into it. I think they would work great for you for fine details.
Fantastic video. Love your bird. Thank you.
Wow, amazing artwork of an Amazon milk tree frog!!!
Wow, that's interesting. I thought Yupo paper was thin! There's some at my local art store and now I need to get some and test it out!
Looks so good

love it, you are a great artist. what would you use to protect the marker art.

Lily Manson Oh, cool! I'm gonna go check my Michael's to see if I find any.
Thanks, Lisa. I've never worked with pigment markers but I plan to now. Looks like fun. Are these markers crazy expensive?
Would you be able to use the Colored Pencil Titanium White & Touch up Texture mixture to do the highlights on this frog?
Do they dry well & behave like water color then?
Is the elf brush an eye shadow brush? It usually says on the handle but I couldn't make it out. Thanks!
I wonder how well the sofft pastel tools would work with the markers. Might be reusable too.

is it possible to use this as an underlay for colored pencils?
Have you ever seen some Marco Mazzoni draws?
I’m crazy about this medium! You are incredible too. Lol

Just keep practicing with them. They blend way different than other markers, especially on the yupo :)
i have so much work to do and here i am watching woman color a frog, and enjoying it
I don't think I'm interested in the markers but it makes me want to paint a frog. But I love the little froggy. DrQ'in

Hello sholderchicken. :) Hello Lisa, nice work (again)
Aww tailless tiel! When I had a cockatiel he ended up being a tailless tiel for awhile after my cousin accidentally pulled out his tail feathers. It took a couple molts but eventually his tail grew back properly lol
I love using makeup brushes for the little hacks 💗💗💗
It almost seam like that paper your work on is very smooth surface.

Thanks, Enola., for clarifying. I was a little confused as I think of watercolor paper as very textured and am not familiar with Yupo.
Up and coming artists I've worked with yupo and it's almost like plastic like paper.
are you going to buy a set of watercolor pencils?
you have just answerd my question. behind glass
Great work as usual :) though I wouldn't recommend blendind the markers with your skin, these are packed with chemical products
How did I get here? I was just watching Korean Rap (Tymee if you wanna know) and suddenly I was here..?
you are meant to do art
maybe I am. I will start drawing again, after i stopped a month ago. Thank you for your comment it inspired me to draw again. (Btw sorry for my bad english, I'm not from an english-speaking country.)
Welcome back!😁
Shoulder chicken
How come she never tried copics there far better

She tried copics. These are simply different markers. Copics are more for cartoons and anime...
yeah that's true
Pied Camel Art yeah that's true you couldn't do as good realism with copics
What the hell happened to your video titles and descriptions?
hacked, but no worries
