You mention the Positive going from the Normally Open of Switch 1 to Switch 2, then the power from the Pusher & flywheels going to Normally Open but drawing the line to the Normally *Closed* lead of Switch 2 I think you guys might need to put a note on-screen (if possible) or in the Closed Captions that you meant the lines coming from the Pusher & Flywheels is meant to be Normally *CLOSED* instead of Normally Open..
Make.Test.Battle I'm using a stryfe with a select fire kit and hellcats, and that means I can't cut out the part of the battery tray for a lipo to fit.. Any suggestions for an extended battery door?
14:40 that's how you know these are Aussies: they stop to talk about workplace safety. I am a safety manager and consultant in Canada, and it may surprise people to hear that Australia is widely-regarded as the best place in the world for workplace safety. Their regulation, enforcement, insurance scheme, and -- most importantly -- general awareness of safety standards are incomparable. This is not sarcasm. Aussies know their shit when it comes to safety (despite all outward appearances at times). I am incredibly heartened to see that a moment was given to safety. The NIC are encouraging kids and teens to do this stuff, yet so rarely pause on the important steps that keep you nerfing after a mod. I have often pondered applying my years in safety to building some more formal standard safety guidance for the hobby. I even wondered if there was a way to build a replaceable quick release for lipos on blasters. A tab you can yank to throw the battery when it starts whistling. Best practice is to throw the whole blaster down, but I know people don't want to lose their personalized blaster and so will risk fire to open the tray. Also, I think it would be wise to have a safe area, like a sand pan, to toss a compromised lipo so it doesn't catch the surroundings on fire should it burst. Anyways, thoughts like that.
It's was mostly because we were called out in our last drunk modding video and realised we can and should do better. That said yes, OH&S is a big thing in every work place. -Justin
I'll give you a contrast. For some reason, Sydney boys love to come here and ski. A lot of them work here in our summer to make money for the winter ski season. I would get them on my crews working a ditch or driving a mover or something. They all quit in a week or so because, in their words, our work sites were bonkers. They were right, of course. Canada has a progressive reputation, but our workplace safety is abysmal. People regularly get fired for objecting to unsafe work -- things like that. Anyhow, keep it up. You'd be surprised how many of your viewers are wholly unaware of the standards you've known all your life.
"Measure twice, cut thrice" -BTM 2017 Thanks for the diagram at the beginning, I'm literally putting of doing a rapidstrike as we speak, with how my timescale works I'll now be able to get it done by the time fidget spinners are popular again.
I know. But the diagram was in the middle of that one where it's right at the be beginning of this one, pretty sure they're the same layout electrically so are interchangeable. On the bright side I managed to get the switches fitted, and I must be using different (larger)switches as I had a lot of trouble getting them in, however once I got them in I didn't need any hotglue/resin to hold them in place, as they are held tightly in the cuts I made to the trigger housing (that only exists in the rapidstrike afaik).
+EDSKaR They could just be the same full-sized switches used in the tutorial, it was mentioned they would just be a friction fit after enough was removed. I have the same flywheel and pusher switches fitted in the same way (albeit wired regenerative live center) and they're all a friction fit (including the 10A CC switch, although that's irrelevant to you if you use two-switch).
I don't agree with less magic boxes the better, its just that you have to know what you are doing and choose the right mosfets and parts for the build and always connect flywheel diode and capacitors near the motors, btw I love your videos
Ahh, the fine balance of education and entertainment. Great mod work, Ryan, with excellent editing on Justin's part. Had myself a good chuckle on the outtakes at the end. By the way, big "YES" to more ModCast!
Thanks for the video. Just getting into this stuff for my kids. Very interesting mods. Regarding the inch, it's not "based" on metric, but referenced if that makes sense. And as far as America having shrunk due to that, what is meant is that the measurement has changed (the inch increased imperceptibly). Although with all land masses growing and shrinking constantly, it might be a hard thing to quantify. In 1960 (basically the same time as the inch changed its reference) the meter changed its reference. Imperial are working measurements (yard is a stride, foot is a foot, 3 miles in an hour of walking (also known as a league). They are easy for anyone to handle. An inch was 3 grains of barley (barleycorn), which used to be an easy measurement for people. Now most people have likely never handled any fresh grains. Also fun fact 12 is a mathematically more useful number than 10, just we happen to have 10 fingers. Dozenal Society has more information if anyone wants to burn sometime, but fun for us math geeks.
what's that led panel in the background, I'm doing my own video's and looking for some lighting. I'm a builder, so it would be fun if it was a diy thing
I'll watch the whole thing after I get a new stryfe, i cant find any other battlecamo ones so I assume mine is fairly rare, if I can complete this I will be dual wielding automatic stryfes
So Im just trying to get my feet wet with modifying nerf blasters and your circuit diagrams are AMAZING it makes it so much easier to do and understand!!!!
How did you make your battery compartment so clean? I only manage to get scratchy quality at best but nothing half as clean as yours. Yours shines in the light.
I have a question: so I wired up everything for my full auto stryfe, but for some reason, the rev trigger activated both the flywheels and the full auto gearbox. I am unsure of what to do.
im trying to do the sledgefire mod i have all the pieces for it except the pipe and i live in the usa do you have any links that will have all the pipe i need for it
I clicked the like button. Let's get some more mod casts. :D. Actually there should be a live mod cast at end war like the day before or something like that.

Im not exactly sure what you mean, but I can assure you that the diagram I drew is correct. -R
Ahh yes. Rewatching I said normally open instead of normally close when describing the leftmost tab of the switch. Dang it!

Might be making an Auto Rayven with a Hooligan pusher kit, seems like this guide might be useful since its a reconfigured stryfe.

Thanks for this! I just wired up a Big Hammer full-auto Stryfe based on your diagram - it's horrifying!
How do u even do that

I have the kit ..my glad u make this video so now I understand wire diagram thanks
Do you need different motor for the kit?
You can but you don't have to

will you suggest adding full auto for a nerf stryfe which is going to be a nerf sami auto sniper rifle
What flywheel motors and lipo battery are you using in this mod?
3s lipo
MTB rhinos
MNemJef,mr_bruhman on reddit thanks, but do you know the c rating and mAh of the 3s lipo?

I'm watching in 2021!!! 3S stryfe full auto!!!
Did you guys have to update your motor, flywheels and cages or did you use the stock flywheels and cages +Make.Test.Battle

@Kyle Brown me too
Can you do a guide for adding a select fire setup to this?
What is the model of your dope (bosch?) screwdriver with clutch so you don't over tighten screws? I cant find it in Bunnings.
Thanks! Very informative.
when i got my xsw kit about 6months ago i swapped out the motor with a rhino straight away and have had no problems with it.
hey can you say it again i wasnt sure if it has steam? 21:04
when u do circuit diagrams plz use different colours to show positve and negative
what are the benefits to making an auto stryfe as opposed to just upgrading a rapidstrike?
Not realy anything. Im into it for the size and look compared to a rapidstrike.
I have a strife and I’m looking to mod it to 90 or 100 fps full auto, any recommendations for the type of fly wheels I should use?
when Ryan says aluminium

lol :)
You should do a series called "Stupid science with Ryan"
Oh that T-Shirt would be nice ;D
How come in the background the red recon is primed back I have always wondered 🤔
Because it's not finished and the priming bar isn't attached.

Make.Test.Battle oh okay I was just wondering thanks for the response
Can you do some mod guides on the new blasters in store now? I don't have any stryfes left and some of these blasters have a lot of potential.

Holy shit, I feel called out 11:44
Hi guys if I also wanna have flywheels motor breaking what difference it does on the diagram ? Thanks
can I use an 11.1 V 3s lipo on this, or is that too much?
FYI you can fit a return pusher switch in the blaster, I have done it, but it is painful and not worth it.
I know. I have done in with 3 other builds and I wanted to try just a normal 2 switch in this one. Turned out just fine -R
+Make.Test.Battle In your opinion is it worth it?
Nope. Its far more trouble than its worth, even with this style of kit.
It's probably in the video but what is the brand name of the custom internals?
and will this work with Nerf modulus i love your vids so spookay like cheap nerf darts
(by alex)
It wont be a drop in but the idea is definitely transferable -R
