Drac like what the hell, I've literally just spent hours the last 2 days planning a Stryfe build. watching the make test battle vid and walcom S7 vids using the worker flywheel cage.
One day as I was finishing a particularly long COD zombies game with some of my buddies.. my four year old son came up to me and said hey dad can we play zombies? I said sorry buddy it’s too scary and violent. He said no dad. I mean outside. Together. I smiled and said sure buddy, what gun do I get? He handed me a fish shaped super soaker pistol. Then he racked the Walmart rifle I had gotten him for Christmas, you know the one. It looks like a repeater and makes noise... and my dad brain was looking at this boring fish gun thinking man there has to be a better way...That was five years ago. And I have built and modified 10 nerf blasters since then. And I always come here first and every week to check the news and see how the king does it. Thank you Drac for everything you do for the “sport” you have helped me so much over the years. Keep up the good work.

never thought I would START a nerf addiction in my 30s but here I am, and as with anything, like the rest of us, I cannot leave it alone. thanks for the info, even if that cage is top dollar.
Do you have to solder the wires? If not what safe and reliable ways could be done to connect the wires? What’s a good 2s lipo for this stryfe mod? Do you need a flywheel cage when upgrading flywheel, motor, switch, and wires?
@@dinh6327 yes you have to solder (please learn don't get yourself hurt), it's not hard, look up a couple tutorials on UA-cam and get a nice soldering iron and some flux

Always great to see updated mod guides, so thanks Drac! Very useful to new people, especially due to Hasbro's recent (or more frequently widespread than before) use of reskins and reshells.
I think that this, in conjunction with the MTB video is a great way on how to make a solid stryfe build. Some things like the ability to use the stock flywheel cage and a 3s battery is nice in the MTB video, but you also have a better soldering technique and demonstrate newer techniques that have developed in our hobby, like the switch plate and aftermarket cages. Good job, nice work, keep it up!
Simple and clear, just what a beginer needs, what low budget cage do you recommend ? 'cause the nyx is maybe too much for someone modding for the first time ..
THANK YOU! I needed this after being out of modding for a while. I just needed to learn. Thank you for modding one of my favorite guns and reintroducing me to the platform.

As always, a great video. I am getting ready to mod my Stryfe in the new year and appreciate an updated guide with relevant products listed. I too would love to get a full definition of your tier system for blaster mods so I can properly classify and understand what the various moders on YouTune are talking about.
Here is what I have told a few other asking in the comments hope it helps, so a tier 0 is a Stryfe using the best of the parts money can buy, it can cost $250-$300, it also has things like lights, kits, hyrdodip. Peace..I just Thrifted my First Stryfe ( The OJ ) for $4 yesterday. I'm looking forward to it being my first Mod. Thank you for all of the Guides, Reviews and everything else that you have done for the community Drac.. You are greatly appreciated!!!!!!!
I bought the needed parts from foamblast at ragnaroktoberfest and this vid got me to finally commit to doing the project of my first flywheel rewire. My stryfe is now a 3S beast! Thank you so much for doing this!
This was super helpful. Thank you so much for making this my modulus stryfe should be shipping right now and I am going to mod it. The only thing is I am budget tight so I will only be replacing the motors, maybe in the future I'll do the wheels and cage. Thanks again Drac
As many stryfe builds as I’ve seen on this channel, I have more than enough reason to trust your guide, and will definitely show this to a friend of mine and tell him why he needs a stryfe lol. I’ve always wondered how you make these things so beastly and I am now happy to see how simple it really is with the right know-how.... and the right tools lol. Thanks so much for taking the time to make this guide, and for continually bringing us content in this great hobby, as always I look forward to seeing more content! Also #teamred lol
I AM SO THANKFUL FOR THIS!!! I have been modding and painting springers for a long time, creating such legends (that I know you’ve never heard of) as Son of Kish, Redeemer of Jerusalem, and more! I’ve been wanting to get into modding flywheel blasters for a year and a half, and have been doing research for just as long, but I had trouble finding the materials I’d need to follow the MTB guide, even though the instructions for the actual mod for super simple. Now that this is available, working with fluwheel blasters is far less daunting for the homework ridden sixteen year old and I hope to build a few sleeper stryfes until I’m good enough to make a personal Tier1 stryfe that follows my typical aesthetic and is worthy of a name derived from Scripture!
Nerf is SPORT and a hobby! Great building tips. With switches I find it is easier to mount them using a screw port on the switch to a trimmed down screw port on the shell with a dab of glue, no need to buy/print plates or more (they do however save you a bit of time)!
I really want to start modifying my blasters and now I can because your video was easy to follow and I can trust you cause of all the stryfe’s you have made thank you DRAC
i feel like in a way this was a lot of advertisement for the products he designed, but honestly no hate towards that i get its better from a business standpoint and it’s a helpful way to get people into this sort of thing by giving them something that is designed by someone they look up to so they know it’ll be good, very clever way of advertising in my opinion.
Great Stryfe guide Drac! I did see you were stabilising your product shots there (Nyx cage etc) If you wanna do some slow mo B-roll footage then invest in a lazy susan with a simple egg timer mod for turning it or purchase a small 4-wheel camera dolly. Produces the same effect without the use if stabilizing. Quite cheap too!
Thanks for the info I was having trouble today with my build. My cage wasn't fitting was getting frustrated looking for parts i needed to get it done. Infos very helpful.
#TiersCauseTears Anyways, (extensive Nyx Cage self advertising aside) it was definitely a lot better than your usual guides. There were a fair amount of things you missed. Correctly choosing a suitable battery for your motors, is _very_ important. I can’t believe you skipped this. I would recommend watching foamblasts battery guide (not you Drac) to learn how to do that. You didn’t talk about basic lipo safety _at all_ which is something everyone should learn before they even touch a lipo. Captain Xavier has a great video on that. You also didn’t talk about 3s motors, which I feel you should have. You didn’t mention lipo alarms or volt meters either, which I would say are fairly nessisary for safety. (Well, the Alarms are, voltmeters not as much) You also didn’t mention how to solder in a different connector (deans to Xt60) for example) (which can be dangerous if not done correctly) You didn’t mention what charger to use either, which is another common question people ask who have never used a lipo before. The accucell S60 (sold on hobby king and by out of darts) has all the nessisary features while not being terribly expensive. That’s all I can think of for now.
Also, Loctite usually recommended for the motor screws. And usually advised to test with a lower power pack such as 4 X AA batteries before running off a lipo
I feel like a dedicated battery mating and modding and charging video may be in order for the future but at 17 minutes, this was heavy enough that youtube will bury it already. Thanks for the feedback
@@LightningEagle14 It's actually interesting how few(practically zero) videos by any in the world of modding Nerf or even airsoft go into lipo safety. I didn't realize how dangerous they can be until I started researching wiring electrical components and such and coming across a drone website that went into very in depth details regarding every aspect of lipo batteries.
Delrin IS acetal. POM (polyoxymethylene) is a plastic made by many companies using slightly different formulas but they all do the same thing. It works well. Delrin is acetal and the chemical name for acetal is polyoxymethylene. The only thing is though, it's designed to be a low friction material. Once you have a layer of foam on the wheels this isn't an issue, but I think the community should look into different plastics to see if there is a better option.
I think the only thing I would seriously recommend that wasn't here is either a voltmeter or a low-voltage alarm. Drac does cover this in his other stryfe build videos. You will regret not doing this. Lipos cannot go below a certain voltage without destroying themselves and becoming dangerous to recharge. This is a mod video, not a lipo video, so I would also add it is critical you do a ton of research on Lipo safety. Pair this with a Lipo video. And maybe consider using a Mosfet instead of a high amp switch. It offers some advantages. You might also consider adding dean connectors or xt-60s between the motors and the rest of the wiring harness. If you combine that practice with a mosfet, it becomes a non-issue to change motors or add an afterburner. It helps with the idea that your modded blaster is always a work in progress you will continue to fiddle with. People like drac have the resources to just keep making new ones, but you will probably be upgrading your baby for years.
I don't even have nerf gun but watching your vids, makes me want to buy one just to mod them. What do you think of making a stryfe painted like a 40k bolt gun ?

Okay I am super new (like 4 months) to modding nerf blasters, and I was wanting to power up my stryfe like this and also put in the worker full auto kit, and I have no idea if I can do this and put in that kit. If anybody smart could tell me you’d be a life saver. Thanks for the helpful video too drac!
If you don’t want to spend money on the new flywheels stuff antother great way to increase performance (not as much than if you use this tutorial) you can keep the stock fly wheel and remove the paddles of the fly wheel ( the pieces the dart has to push through to get into the fly wheel) also makes for almost no jams
Drac this video is amazing!! The editing was excellent and it will be really helpful!! I was wondering if this could be applied to a rayven as I was thinking of modding one of them... if it won’t then please update the rayven mod guide too!
I like this kind of video. With a little ingenuity, one could make a blaster from scratch! Or maybe just using another blaster's mag well. I wish there was a similar one for rival rounds as those are (strangely) more available to me.
I'm working on this after my son bought all the parts. This video actually hops over the most important (and difficult) parts. Soldering some of the connections is not a beginner's task.

You can of course. But I recommend you to get bulldogs and a worker metal cage. Way better than paying $95 for nyx
Okay thanks! (Super big help)
Great guide. Thanks.
Tier 1 voltmeter and painting please!
Thanks drac! Because of you I have an incredible modded stryfe,
thanks a lot!!! i am not verry smart at electronics so this helped me a lot
FINALLY! Long overdue imo, no one ever posts an in-depth video on modding a stryfe...
Ikr
Cough cough make test battle
Thank you so much, I wish i knew this video when i started modding
this tutorial is great and it showed me that buying nerf mods online wont cost a fortune.
Excellent guide for people getting into Stryfe mods. Loved the small nods to MTBs original Super Stryfe mod guide.
You should put the longshot front gun on the tri strike with a cool stock, or just make a video about putting them together😀 I love your channel
Great vid drac but I wish you could use half length darts
I knew all of These, but it was still enjoyable
Great video! I learned a lot. I'm totally going to mod this blaster.
Ultimate mod guide when
I use a stock nerf switch on a 3s and haven’t had a problem with em
Drac this video is amazing!! The editing was excellent and it will be really helpful!! I was wondering if this could be applied to a rayven as I was thinking of modding one of them... if it won’t then please update the rayven mod guide too!
hey you should review the Aurora cage from Open Flywheel Project
Elijah Hays that thing stinks. I’ve got it to burn out a few times. Dracs NYX cage is by far the best. Nothing beats it.

I am new to modding thanks for these videos
Quality - thanks for this!
Thank you for this it is helpful. I have an orange stryf that doesn't work anymore and I wanted to revive it but wasn't sure how to start.
Thanks, Lord Drac this video was very helpful!!!
Thanks drac (I know this was posted a while ago) I am going to use this to mod my stryfe
I like this kind of video. With a little ingenuity, one could make a blaster from scratch! Or maybe just using another blaster's mag well. I wish there was a similar one for rival rounds as those are (strangely) more available to me.
Me: How simple is this first mod gonna be?

wtf
I'm working on this after my son bought all the parts. This video actually hops over the most important (and difficult) parts. Soldering some of the connections is not a beginner's task.
Zan G I still don’t even know what solder means
You deserve mor subs drac
This is such a helpful video...Thanks Drac!
