Just purchased the DVDs on Amazon and finished watching the third season. Have to say that I enjoy this show as much as an older adult as I did as a child.
Vlasko60 me too. I guess looking back gilligan would goof up and look at the camera and shrug in despair. I wouldn’t mind rewatching all the episodes to find out! 👍🏻
I remember from the zombie episode that the Professor was poo-pooing the whole notion of zombies and he somehow temporarily got turned into one. Then Gilligan goes running to the Howells, saying "Mr. & Mrs. Howell!! Something terrible has happened. The Professor has turned into a zombie. MRS HOWELL: That's awful.... Thurston, what's a zombie? MR. HOWELL: A zombie? Well, first you take two jiggers of rum and you mix it with an ounce of brandy...." LOL
I also didn't notice the numerous hat holdings, but I did notice the looks at the camera.Oliver Hardy did that a lot in his movies.Alan must have been a big fan.Great video!
I like the way Gilligan always yells out SKIPPER!!! I thought you should have included that in your video Buck, but then I realized that’s a Gilligan thing.
Gilligan and Skipper were a great team. I could see Jerry Van Dyke playing Gilligan, but cannot see Carroll O’Connor playing the Skipper. It had to be Bob Denver and Alan Hale Jr. to make this show so successful.
When I was a kid watching these re-runs I always thought it was funny when he "broke the fourth wall", even though I didn't know that was what it was called LoL
....ever notice how the Howells called him Captain?....i don't really know if they ever called him Skipper....hard to believe Archie Bunker could have been Jonas Grumby.......love his fourth wall looks....
Besides hitting Gilligan over the head with his hat, I love when the Skipper looks straight at the camera and (sometimes) shakes his head! And you almost hear him sigh, as if to say "That Gilligan has done it again!"
I myself like a good aside but Alan Hale looked at the camera way too much. At least once in all 98 episodes. Don't believe me? Watch em all. Its ridiculous and I'm still surprised to this day why the producers and director let him do it so much. I think its down right vein myself. Next in line had to be Mr Howell with Ginger running a real close second. Then Mrs Howell. Gilligan I saw twice. Marianne twice as well and the professor just once out of 98 episodes. Alan Hale was too all about himself with it. Sometimes it was great. Most of the time completely uneccessary.
i heard that dawn wells liked the professor cause he knew science stuff like how diamonds are made of carbon atoms and emeralds came from the emerald city.
Alan Hale was by far the best actor on the show. All the other characters could have been replaced by someone else and it wouldn't have been a big deal but if they had replaced Alan Hale the show would have bombed.
The Skipper was seen as a big fat ass back in the 1960s, but by modern standards, he's just a normal guy that looks only 20 or 30 lbs overweight. Today you need to be 80 lbs or more overweight to be thought of as a big fat guy.
my favourite part is when the Skipper beats up on Gilligan there was an episode where he beat him mercilessly until Gilligan was in a coma for 2 years the professor kept him alive with coconut juices and island berries
RIP Mr. Alan Hale Jr. aka Skipper. You were the best and a good part of why I loved this show.

Love seeing the Skipper look at the camera.
The camera stares were always my favorite!
Jeff Gravell I think Norman Fell as Stanley Roper stared into the camera in 3’s company also.
Yeah, he would turn to the camera and laugh after scoring one on his wife Helen.
Pretty sure he borrowed the camera stare from Oliver Hardy!
Barbara Feldon did quite a few camera stares in the last 2 seasons of Get Smart also.
Vlasko60 me too. I guess looking back gilligan would goof up and look at the camera and shrug in despair. I wouldn’t mind rewatching all the episodes to find out! 👍🏻
Skipper knows when to thank Gilligan sarcastically.

Loved it when he looked at the camera.
Wow, I did not notice how many times Skipper grabbed his hat. Funny if you ask me.🤣🤣
I never noticed he did it that much either!
So you both are like what hat 👀🙈🤠
I also didn't notice the numerous hat holdings, but I did notice the looks at the camera.Oliver Hardy did that a lot in his movies.Alan must have been a big fan.Great video!
There's only one Skipper! Thanks for bringing back some fun memories of that show and the Skipper.
Thanks Kathy. Only Alan Hale Jr could have played the Skipper so well.
What a great capture you got of the Skipper. I never noticed how many times he held onto his hat. I got a good laugh out of that. Thanks
Gilligan’s Island was a fun family show throughout the world. Nice job profiling the Skipper.
He had such gentle hands and arms. I luv him.
Extremely handsome with a wonderful smile
Buck, you hit it right on with the Skipper. The hat scenes are too funny.
Not one could have done this show BETTER😊😊
This was great. Had to watch it twice.
I like the way Gilligan always yells out SKIPPER!!! I thought you should have included that in your video Buck, but then I realized that’s a Gilligan thing.
loved when he looked straight into the camera like that. Funny.
Alan Hale Jr was the best choice for the Skipper role.
Wow, I never noticed the Skipper grabbed his hat so many times. That section kept me laughing.

Who could not love the Skipper? I get a kick out of the scenes when he hits Gilligan with his hat. His face screams anger. LOL
The best!!!!!!!!!!! Alan Hale Jr would be so proud of a job well done on this fabulous tribute!
Awe, thank you again Hank Austin. I have to say that Alan Hale Jr has always been my favorite castaway.
Bravo, loved this as I love the one and only Skipper.
Nice profile of the Skipper. The only thing missing is “Hey Little Buddy.”
Love the Skipper videos. Thanks for sharing Buck.
Great video on my favorite all time character on TV.
Such a creative video. I do hope you do a profile of the Skipper’s little buddy as well. That would be a treat.
That’s funny...I NEVER KNEW that he ALWAYS holds his hat.
Who could not love the Skipper? 😘😘😘
It’s hard to imagine any other actor playing the Skipper. It had to be Alan Hale Jr.
The skippers hat was mostly white, you know about the mandela effect?
The skipper was an important man he also fought in the navy in the war so he was always in command of his crew and kept a watchful eye
Him looking at the camera is the best thing I swear lol
I hadn’t really noticed before how many times the Skipper held onto or grabbed his hat. It’s actually kind of funny.
When I was a kid watching these re-runs I always thought it was funny when he "broke the fourth wall", even though I didn't know that was what it was called LoL
Who doesn’t love theSkipper?
The Skipper and his little buddy: a love and hate relationship.
Wonder how many times Skipper held onto his hat throughout all the seasons??
I like it when He hits Gilligan on the head with his hat! lol
....ever notice how the Howells called him Captain?....i don't really know if they ever called him Skipper....hard to believe Archie Bunker could have been Jonas Grumby.......love his fourth wall looks....
I love how Skipper breaks the 4th wall
Long live the Skipper!!
He’s DEAD. :(
He’s DEAD. :(
Gilligan's Island would not be the same without the Skipper.
THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR VIDEO (MEMORYSTAR)
😎THANKS AGAIN😎
Good one Buck.
Here’s to you, enjoyed.

The skipper was the best!!!
SKIPPER!!!!'
he reminds me of Oliver Hardy, he also looked into the camera.
RIP Alan Hale Jr
That was fun!
The Skipper aka captain loves his hat. Ha ha
Movie directors: do NOT look at the camera
Skipper: hold my hat
This is actually really helpful to shape Skipper's character in the musical I'm in.
Here here!!! 🥂😉
i heard that dawn wells liked the professor cause he knew science stuff like how diamonds are made of carbon atoms and emeralds came from the emerald city.
I’m surprised the Skipper hat survived those Gilligan swats.
I think the skipper was one of the first to use the camera as a character
Alan Hale was by far the best actor on the show. All the other characters could have been replaced by someone else and it wouldn't have been a big deal but if they had replaced Alan Hale the show would have bombed.
Jim Baakus would be very hard to replace as Thurston.
I wonder which one of the male characters was the most popular on Gilligan’s Island? For me, it was always the Skipper. Would like to see a survey.
I bet the Skipper never lost his hat.
i thought that hat holding bit was just a bit of oliver hardy...his whole character as skipper had a bit of OH all through it
Ha ha! So funny.
Another mandela effect the skippers hat WAS white and black. Now it's all black 😲
Skipper sure liked to eat a lot

A take of of laurel and hardy but funnier.
Maybe they were the first to look at camera
You may not read this in time but Dawn Wells "Mary Ann" got into trouble with the IRS and needs help. There is a @t page setup.
I read that most of the financial trouble suffered by Dawn Wells was due to a long hospital stay due to complications from a knee or leg injury.
After watching the entire video, I can only think about how hot Mary Ann was.
"Buck Stops Here", stop posting Gilligan click bait which is not actual video of the show.
Why would I do that????? Just cause you don't like it doesn't mean others don't.
