That’s such a comforting way of putting it though. Everyone has faults and weird things about them, so making it clear that isn’t one of them by pointing out all the other things and making it clear that isn’t one of them without being overly mushy just comes across as very genuine. (At least from my perspective and how I’ve noticed I like best)

To a degree I get where you are coming from with the jealousy question, and when you both said you are jealous that you never got to be horny teenage boys or get erections in class and such. It's easy as a cis person to be like, "But this was awful to experience!" but I can sort of understand it from a different perspective. I had a miscarriage last year, and my husband and I have been struggling to get pregnant ever since. Every time I see people with kids I feel a bit jealous, even when the kids are shrieking and throwing a tantrum. People with kids always tell me, "enjoy being child free while you can! XYZ thing sucks about parenting!" But the truth is that I would rather have all those bad experiences and have a baby than have a quiet, peaceful life without. I know it's not really the same thing as being trans and experiencing dysphoria and such, but I can relate to it in that way and I get where you are coming from

At 62, watching this is like going to a science fiction movie. "Tell them when you feel safe" used to be "not unless you have a death wish" - and that was with relatives. These kids are charming and fun, and I'm glad there's a safe to be.
This really helps put things in perspective for me. I've been so INCREDIBLY depressed and stressed about all the anti-trans laws being passed in the States, and have been feeling like things are regressing and like maybe there isn't hope for more acceptance and safety with how politics are trending far-right here. But it HAS been getting better, even if it isn't totally linear and regresses sometimes.
Like for example, I hear cishet streamers casually say LGBT+ friendly things just in conversation, and the majority of their huge audience agreeing happily or not even making a deal out of it because to them it's normal and okay (and it is! but you know). And then even out and about in my daily life, though I may sometimes feel vulnerable and alone, it's still mostly okay for me to not live in constant fear or worry. I'm still not going to out myself to most people, but then again, I also drive around openly in a very queer friendly car (bumper stickers, etc), and I've not been murdered yet, so that's neat! 😅
Bit long, but I did need some perspective. I'm so glad things are better now, and I hope they continue to improve for the newer generations (I'm 28 and the HUGE change in acceptance since even just 2006 is staggering to me)

I grew up extremely religious and conservative and I really struggled with how to ask questions as well. My tips would be: make sure your questions are coming from a place of pure curiosity and care and that you’re very comfortable (and they with you) the person you’re questioning.

Hello, I am really late but you can find a lot of videos on youtube talking about what are the questions not to ask to a transgender person. I think since you are open minded and comprehensive (as you seems to be ^^) about the fact that there is questions that can make them unconfortable it should be okay. Also we have to keep in mind that transgender person have really often the same questions coming when they meet people, and it can often be not people not kind with them, so it is understandable that sometimes they are exhausted and rather not talking about this...
If you guys made a podcast I would listen to it all the time. The energy you guys bring is so wholesome.
Now I feel a little weird because I am also a white trans guy dating a person of color. Although what they said about race is pretty real, like, I feel defensive on her behalf if someone's being gross, and because of what she communicates with me, I know a little about her struggle with race related issues, so I don't experience it but I can share her perspective. I think that is also a good way to do it with cis ambassadors... I don't think they can speak to all trans experiences, because there is so SO much nuance, but they can share the experiences of people close to them, and I think that helps a lot.

About sex questions: as a trans person, it's not to pry into other's sex lives, it's simply to learn. We learn about sexual health in school, they teach the basics of how it works between and cis girl and a cis boy, but I had to figure it out myself with sex between two cis guys and I know close to nothing about sex between two cis girls cause it makes me uncomfortable. And sex is pretty important to me, so I really do feel that self-consciousness that I'll never find someone attracted to me enough to want to have sex with me. But beyond then, when thinking about actually having sex, I genuinely have no idea what that would be like and I worry that I'll never be able to find sexual pleasure without feeling dysphoria. So, yeah, it'd be great to know more about having sex as a trans person, specifically a trans man for myself, but not in a creepy way, in an educational way. Because that information exists nowhere that I can find and I'm so lost.
