I come back to this video every now and then. I still hope to save and buy one off of the second-hand market. The Ludlow is an unforgettable guitar and this is some unforgettable playing
Wow - what awesome playing - no endless riffs with heavy distortion or whacked out shreding - just overdriven clean sounds that come from one of the tastiest players I've heard in a while ~ and . . . . I love his hat ! lol
I had a premier ludlow and it was one of my favorite guitars Ive ever played, but i had to sell it to afford a deluxe dc which is also an incredible guitar, one day ill save up to get this bad boy tho
If you're in the market for a beautiful, quality guitar, look no further than D'Angelico! This particular model, Deluxe Ludlow, is one of the best guitars that I have ever owned; and I have a Gibson Les Paul! I have to say, there is absolutely no way to describe the feeling that one gets from holding and playing one of these beauties. And it's not just the playability, this guitar is like owning a piece of art! Just looking at this guitar will make anyone fall in love with it immediately! On top of all that, there is a very rich history behind D'Angelico that would make anyone proud to be associated with! Right now, I have 10 guitars, which is the most guitars I have owned at one time, but I have to say, that this guitar quickly became my favorite! Since I got my D'Angelico Deluxe Ludlow, I have recommended D'Angelico to several of my friends and a couple of studio guys that I worked with last year.
@@abcrx32j I can understand why the Ludlow wasn't your favorite, and I also understand how it eventually grew on you. This guitar received mixed reviews because of its appearance. That is a shame because that means before anyone got to hear what it sounded like, they were turning it away based on its looks. But, many people who heard this guitar's sound, after they dismissed it, came back to buy one or at least endorse it. I happened to like the appearance, but I realize that I fall into a very small group of people who liked this guitar's look. To this day, my son doesn't like the look of this guitar! At the time that I left this comment, I had 10 guitars... Today, I have 29 guitars and this is still at the top of my list of my favorite guitars... And yes, hopefully they will be back in production someday.
They are becoming somewhat scarce...But, if you do happen to find one, snag it up right away, my friend; you won't regret it! This is the best guitar I have ever owned and I have a Gibson, Les Paul! I can tell you, I've had many regrets in my life, but I can promise you, friend that buying my D'Angelico guitar is not one of those regrets!
I may be misinformed, and I know builders like suhr use it as well, but why do mid to higher end guitar builders use basswood? Is it different than the cheap "easily dented " basswood Ibanez uses on its low end models?
It can be kinda spongy, but the upside is mahogany-ish resonance at significantly lower weight! It's not so fragile that I would worry about it myself. I have an MIJ Strat made of basswood, and it has been perfectly robust!
I life in Germany and I want this guitar in green. It´s impossible.. Can someone tell me why I can´t buy this guitar in any online store or shop or whatever when I´m living in Germany? That makes me sick.
Reverend is one of the most over rated over priced guitars on the market. They were way better when Joe Naylor was making them in Detroit one at a time and selling them for half of what Ken Hass gets.on foreign built guitars. Nice guitar but WAY too much money (IMHO)
I love the thick, warm tone of this guitar.

I’ve got one and it’s sweet. Absolute best feeling neck
Is it comfortable to play? The shape makes it look awkward.

Of all the solid bodies they have released the ludlow wasn't my favorite, but has growing on me, hopefully they will be back on production someday

Hey, you should be able to special order it through any of our German dealers. Contact simon@dangelicoguitars.com and he can arrange that for you.
@@DAngelicoNYAhh thx!!
D'Agelico or Reverend ? ... Ludlow or Airsonic ??? That is THE question ...
