I met Bucky about 10 years ago.Since then I had life changing experience I had s private master class with him at his family home. I'm dad saddened by his passing. Hey was a wonderful human being...the world will miss him....paul bracco
So sorry to hear of his passing, but so grateful for his contributions to jazz. I bought an Excel because of him. Love his stories. R.I.P. Maestro Bucky.
My father played with Bucky in the service, WW11 and new him through the years. My father was a Jazz piano player called Boogie Joe. I happen to own a D'Angelico proto type featured at the 2003 NAMM show...Love the Guitar!!!!!!
I've been looking at getting the EXL-1 so my research has brought me here. I saw Bucky's name in the menu so selected this video. Nothing is better than Bucky (and his son, John) playing from the Great American Songbook...or just running through some chord progressions. I consider myself a jazz chord guitar player and love that style, so expertly performed by the Pizzarelli's. Every review of a D'Angelico guitar that I have read has been a 5 of 5 then add these review videos and you have a winner!
He was so spry at his age. This is a great video! Love that they played Snowfall. I think Bucky's friend Barry Galbraith was in the Claude Thornhill orchestra around the time they came out with that tune. So many great players in that generation.
People of that age and wisdom are so cool. And he's an awesome player. To imagine the stories he told or adventures he'd gone through... i bet he has so many cool stories
I am the proud owner of an EX-DH LH. (Lefty) D'Angelico of the 4 guitars I own it's the cleanliness sounding guitar. I bought it in 2016 from Steetsounds in Brooklyn, I don't know if they did the setup but, if they did they did a great job. Not one fret on it buzzes just a beautiful guitar. Hey Rock, should you read this contact me when you re-stock with a LH guitar. Thanks.
Such a sound naturally & acoustically... just with a mic... hearing the ‘acoustic’ Overtones mixed in for what seemingly was picked up with a mic ... (in the background ... listening with headphones...)
After 40 plus years of guitars.... i agree, i thought i loved my other acquaintances ... but my D'Angelico , now she's a lady I'll never leave... Right. Kimberley" lol...
Covid-19 just took him out. I'm glad he got to live a long, full life. RIP Bucky.

RIP Mr. Pizzarelli. What a great player, even at 90 years old!
He already died?.
An absolute giant! Swing, soul, taste... he had it all. Thanks to D' Angelico for making this video and honoring a real artist.
Very nice. Love seeing Bucky play and hear his stories.
this man is an institution, a monument to music, art and jazz
Glad there are these videos for the world to remember Bucky.
I had the opportunity to see Bucky and John play at Sanibel Playhouse circa 2002-3 (?). It was a great show. Thank you Mr. Pizzarelli.
Bucky - and his son John - are national treasures. Rest in peace, Bucky. Ciao, paisan!

Bucky blends an old school blue collar work ethic, with the artistry of a Michelangelo, on his D'Angelico.
You nailed it!.... what's more to say?...
What a magnificently beautiful guitar. Leave it to the Italians to create a masterpiece.
he was such a great player, and very modest

I love your guitars. Granted I only have one. Lol. My D’Angelico premier DC Teardrop in transparent Cherry, is such a joy! I love it!
So nice to be able to watch this for the first time today such a cool dude and I really like these guitars
RIP Mr. Pizzarelli, send our regards to Wes M. and Joe P. from us!
I have an EX-63 and can only hope one day to get even close to guys like this...
This proves that it’s physical possible to sound great at 90. Hope he’s resting in peace
I want one! What a beautiful tone from a fantastic well made instrument. 😊🎸🦅
Did you get one, five years ago? I love mine!

Goddamn shame more people don't know about this guy. One of the first jazz guitarists I looked to for influence when I started learning. What a legend
Bucky is amazing. What a time in music and show business!
Love that “Snowfall”. Thankfully Bucky does not have to endure what has become of NYC.
Amazing
a master.
Yeah!! Master Bucky!!!
RIP Bucky. Another legend lost.
MASTERS AT WORK , WOW ALFRED PUERTO RICO .
90 yr old that can still play and at that still better than me
He was brilliant with the best jazz guitar that delivers the best possible tone that a Gibson jazz guitar can't deliver.
Love ya' Bucky!

The Master.
Rip greatest ever
Hello guys, Im not really familier with jazz, What does he play when he sits down? Simple but beautiful.
If you close your eyes and listen, not only do you hear beautiful music but he sounded about 60 :)
It says alot when you cant trade 2 Gibson Les Paul's from Les Paul for 1 D'Angelico. RIP O. GIbson, Les Paul, Bucky, and D'Angelico.
Rest in peace

Song @3:05 = "Snowfall". Claude Thornhill's theme song (Big Band era).
Snowfall
Ahmad Jamal Trio does a great job covering that song.
Nice video but nobody thought to plug Mr. Pizzarelli in?
Which Supro amp is that? Sounds so good clean.
Supro amps any good?
Very good.
Johnny Smith at 1:50.
Does anybody know what Supro model they are using? :)
