Papa Roach is way too underrated. Their music is very validating when you're mentally at a low point, but it isn't depressing. It motivates you to keep going. And it's genuinely good music. I honesty can't think of another band like them, they're one of a kind.

I've noticed hardcore rock people trying new things, such as changing their tunes; BMTH, Hollywood Undead, Papa Roach, Paramore... list continues.
Change is never bad, but i prefer the older rock. It's not bad, but there's definitely room for improvement in my beliefs if they're going the pop route.
When did Hollywood Undead only make “hardcore rock” music? They’ve had hip hop/pop/electronic leanings from the beginning.

the new generations don't consume hard music as we used to do so they've changed to keep on the road. personally I think this is their worst visual style since Paramour sessions, and their worst record since FEAR.

They are still a fantastic band. They didn’t sell out in the slightest.
They totally sold out. I'm not saying it's a bad thing because a lot of bands do it but they are walking away from the music they came up making, the music that got them to where they are and the fans they have. The moment that doesn't make as much as it used to, they totally change just to make some new fans so they can make more money. They were easily my favorite band growing up but this new music is closer to hip hop than rock or metal.

Love this album! Went to the concert last summer and I was hooked! Hadn’t heard any radio play though! ❤️ Loved them since they started!
There are bands that succeed in experimenting trying not to sound always the same, but still the keep their essence... this is not the case.
This is the kind of shit people said about the "Scars" era, they moved away from the hip-hop influence and people hated it at first, I for one enjoy this new song, and by god it's definitely better than "Hollywood Whore"
.. I had youtube just playing through and clicked over and that's what it took for me to realize who was singing this. My taste is very eclectic so I don't dislike the song but it did sort of make me have to blink and play older stuff to try and figure out when the sound change happened. And I'm still not sure if it is a lyrical change, or if it is just that there's "throw some of these noises/instruments in cause they're popular right now" change.. but yeah. I don't get angry or un-angry about musicians changing their sounds. Except maybe Metallica.

I really liked the direction of the Crooked Teeth album. It had the Papa Roach feel but was modern enough. I love it when artists experiment and try new things, I really do. I get that artists get bored and wanna try a different sound.
Personally, though, this just doesn't do it for me. A lot of people are commenting it sounds like Imagine Dragons because it does. It doesn't sound like Papa Roach anymore.
I think Jacoby has a great voice, and the singing here is really good. However, it seems like the band has become a side piece.
I know a lot of artists are taking this road, but Papa Roach doesn't have to. I'll just have to miss them for now.

A Music video without storyline is like lyrics without meaning or a movie without dialogue . There should’ve been a lot of elevating or trying to elevate until flying at least to give the video more action. The song pace is too slow and the video even slower, it gets kind of boring. I mostly criticize because I know you guys can do better than this, this last album lacks creativity (copying other bands) so maybe I’m expecting too much, or that extra for things to be extraordinary at least for the music videos now.
