Crooked teeth wasn’t that good, it has no flow at all, with the end of the album being extremely weak. Although this doesn’t seem that good, I can actually see myself relistening to this album. From the singles, I have higher hope. This doesn’t seem that “pop”, compared to crooked teeth this seems that same.
That was my least favorite album!!

Honestly? I think this fucking rules. I‘ve listened to every Papa Roach album there is and we already got a ton of great hard rock and nu metal songs I can enjoy as someone who is definitely more on the heavy side of genres.
And what do they give us now? Pop that I, even as a Metalhead, can enjoy. The riffing in the chorus and Jacoby‘s rapping in the verses is very compelling. I‘m sold on this album.

The bass and drums in this song might be synthetic but that doesn't mean Tobin and Tony didn't program or organise it themselves, plus when they play it live it'll have live drums. Drum pads ARE a thing you know....Also the guitar is clearly here in this song.

The last single they released had a great riff at the end that they neglected to use throughout the song. If guitars are in this song they are hidden behind the rest of the garbage.

All that computer generated garbage you're talking about is most likely actually written and played by all the members of the band. If you use the right effect pedals, you can make your guitar and bass sound like this for sure. Where do you think all those computer samples originally came from?
If you listen carefully at the song, you'll hear that the more deep parts are bass, the kind of siren sounding moments in the chorus is actually a guitar and throughout the whole song you can hear subtle guitar lines worked into the overall sound that is more ruled by vocals, drums and bass.
Spite4K Not sure if you're listening with broken speakers or headphones or something, because the guitar is very clearly there, and not hidden at all. Just because you don't like this sort of sound doesn't make it definitively bad. I mean if the guitar is SOOO buried beneath electronics then what's the noise during the chorus and drop? Damn. I'm not diggin' this new album at all. I've been a fan of PRoach since 2000. Even when they switched up their sound throughout their career there was still something on those albums that kicked ass. Raw emotion, catchy choruses, great guitar tone, live anthems, etc. But this is not it at all. Sounds like they got completely lazy on this album and went a more safer route for mainstream audiences. Disappointing. I'm usually not the type of person that critiques a band for trying something new, but damn, this falls so flat. PRoach dropped the ball, big time.

This is almost too funny. Bands always change their style. Its always going to be a thing. asking for them to go back to what they used to do isn't going to change that. People change over time and for musicians its reflected in the sound of their music. Have any of you just sat down and tried to think about where this album might be coming from, just from that stand point. Like where in their career they might be or even from a personal stand point for each member of the band itself. Music is an expression of self. Of course the sound is completely different than the 2000's. Did you think nothing was going to change? Change happens all the time you just have to go with the flow or get left behind. It's really amusing. So many bands evolve whether you enjoy it or not. So what. Get over it and move on. Personally yeah its not the same it's not bad, it's not their greatest, but it still pieces in it that's carried over from their earlier albums. Its just not overly noticeable. If I hadn't known it was Papa Roach and someone told me, I would have no trouble believing it, because its the little things about this song that makes me go, "Yep, I can hear it." lol.

yes it is. As I say countless times, rock isn't always about being fast and heavy and distorted. This is electronic rock mixed with pop rock and rap rock. Can't hear any instruments? Are you deaf? What's all that going on in the pre chorus, chorus and drop? Yeah, INSTRUMENTS. As for the synthesisers and drum machines; those are still actual instruments. Just because you don't like electronic music doesn't disqualify it from being a real form of music, or being combined with rock, as PR have been doing for years now

I don't know I like the new stuff but I am missing a catching part in the refrain I like it but it didn't catched me in the way papa roach normally did. What I mean is when I would hear the song anywhere and I don't know it is Papa Roach I wouldn't ask for the name to download it 🤔

Well, this song sounds like Born for Greatness, from Crooked Theeth, and Crooked Theeth was something like Alt. Rock-Rap, I feel this album a little bit like Crooked Theeth, the other singles from Who do you Trust? Sounds a little bit heavier than some songs from Crooked Theeth.

i've liked the first 3 releases...especially not the only one...but after 1 listen i'm not feeling this one....very imagine dragon-ish...which is fine...but i expect more
Guys, since when are you a pop rock kind of band. Don’t get me wrong I like all the songs in this album but I think you guys should stick to your old ways instead of trying to fit in with new music.

Hell of a direction change on this album. It will be one of those albums that I'll have to hear as a whole to appreciate it. Kinda of happy they're throwing different elements into their song catalog.

Heard this song for the first time today. Would've never guessed it was Papa Roach just from hearing it. Full disclosure... I heard the song before knowing who sang it or the name of the song and in the chorus I thought he was saying he wanted an elephant. And for some reason that made me happy. Just the idea of some random song about a guy who wants an elephant made me smile.
