Utensils, kitchen and house equipment are cheaper at places like Panda Mart or China Square. Eggs in the US are refrigerated because FDA requires eggs to be washed in water and chemicals, so the outer protective layer that stops salmonella and bacteria is washed away. If you want milk that can stay long, check for milk marked "U.H.T", but you need to put it in the fridge once opened.

I am looking forward to checking out Panda Mart or China Square. I heard about them on Instagram.

I wouldn't think you weren't from here. You look like a friend of mine called Jacky.

That’s a reason why I moved here. When I looked around and saw so many people who looked like relatives of mine in the US I wanted to live here.

If you love deli meat i would advise you get to the meat counter at Carrefour and get a turkey breast and roast it should 800kshs per kilogram and you will get better value for money. Just season it up and roast/broil

Good day. I am loving your journey. Im hoping to visit Kenya next year. I was going to ask if they have stores like our Walmart, Target and Dollar Trees? I sure they do to an extent.

Thank you for the feedback. There isn’t anything exactly like Walmart or Target that I’ve seen, but there are some similar stores. Carrefour is the closest to Walmart because it has groceries, some clothes, household goods, electronics and groceries. The closest thing to Dollar Tree is the Chinese Mall. I haven’t been there, but from videos I’ve watched they have some of everything like dishes, hair products, beauty, household items, etc. mostly if not all from China.

It’s called Currency. The app has a green logo with the monetary notes for the image.

We know prices are lower at the markets, however as soon as we open our mouths we are offered Mzungu prices which end up being higher than what you’d pay.
