Great to see a new video, and as always, great information. Hope you are all ready for the holidays during the ber months. If your star link reboots, it is not as big as having bad internet. At least you found a good solution. Security, no matter where you live, is a good thing. The system sounds like the one i had in my retail stores back in the day. Community that are good should look out for each other. Being pro active is always the plan. OMG, that goat story is frightening. Take Care as always😊
Since I was considering Philipines, I’ve watched all things pertaining to homes, including homes for sale. This has been the niggling brain worm I ignored at first gah 😖. Security bars on windows! It’s NEVER mentioned on sites or news-do you HAVE a LOT of home burglaries??? Why such fear if not? I get safer, but is it a thing-breakins??? Thank you, and I’d have done the same with the starlink box etc and cover too be safer. You guys seem to cover many bases well. Love to Prince 🐾🐾🐾🙏🏻😎❤️
We have so much glass in our home, bars would look pretty awful. I don't like the prison look of bars either. Break ins are more common, in this area, I believe, to the larger concentration of foreigner homes. It always seems when you hear of a break in a foreigner lives there.
When we shopped for houses, security was one of our priorities. The house we bought doesn't have any bars on the windows, or barbed wire on the fences. The majority of the houses in our subdivision are the same. There are a few older, original homes that look like prisons, but you can't always get people to change their ingrained ways of thinking, and they've lived their entire lives believing they need to live behind bars and wire to be safe. I pay HOA fees for a gated community with roving armed guards. Then I don't have to go to prison, every time I go home
When building in the Philippines, did you require lien releases before payment? Did you pay the contractor for both materials and labor, or did you pay the material supplier directly?
Hello Greg, could you post a link to the alarm system you purchased. Did you install yourself? We have moved into the house we built now and an alarm sounds like a good idea - like you said I’m also not worried but I like the ideas of layers of security as this would be additional one to our cctv.
Can get an uninterruptable power back up just for a modem for less than 500 pesos on Shopee works great.... says 4-5 hours and we came close to 4 hours once before it died ... only tested that long once and I imagine it will deteriorate over time but I bought 2 for the planned all day power brownouts we get from time to time so we'd have nearly 8 hours
We also want to put in automatic change over switch. The main power circuit is clear on instructions. But the control circuit that controls the switch. Not clear at all. Can you make small video to show how its connected.
Good morning Greg and Wilma. im curious about the solar set up, is it possible to be 100% of grid, solar only? Everyone i have asked seems to say that it has to be a hybrid set up. My preference is completely off grid, is it possible? I apologize if you have covered this previously . Cheers from Canada, Kevin
Lol, local dispatch? Have you visited a local police station here. Our system has the capability, but fire/police here are not that modern. I go with the thought, I'm responsible for my own safety.
Are the Philippines safe? Yes, until you get on the roads! 😂🤣 Or a Typhoon goes past you 😲🌬🌧🌴🇵🇭 Fortunately everything here was okay, and the construction crew was prepared, and got most things inside, and secured the outside. We stopped by the house last night, when we got back from Manila (fun drive! 😲🌬🌧), to check. Thank you for your concern about us, my friend! ❤️ Can't wait to hear the story about this homeowner and the big mix-up! 😲🤔😵💫🇵🇭🌴 It's more fun in the Philippines? 😂🤣
@buildingthephilippines Odette was bad no water or electric 47 days I don't know the klw cost but my bills were 10 k here only 5 k plus we purchased inverter appliances
Hi Guys..I'm curious about your security. Where does Prince stay at night? I would think he would Hear and Bark at least with any type of noise outside the house? 🐕🦺
Is yout UPS designed to be outdoors? You still have a lot of humidity. They have UPS that are designed for outdoors. The dampness from the humidity probably will become a problem.
Prince looking awesome and great tips. Thanks for sharing.
@datravels thank you appreciate it

Good information thank you for sharing.

Very wise to be proactive with the various layers of security in the Philippines in general. Continued success. Stay safe!

Some areas, break-ins tend to be more common when properties are unattended. Just like in the u.s.

Gated community gives a good sense of security. Bars on windows is a no go for me. Security system is pretty cheap and easy to install.

I used a contractor for the build. Materials and labor. I was on site every day, monitoring quality and timeliness of completion. Moved in day 184.

Daytech 4g wifi Tuya on shopee. Several choices to choose from. I installed myself. Very easy.
Omg it amazing how fast prince is getting his legs... GETTING BIG
He's a big boy
I believe it. It's the Philippines.
It's the wild wild west all over again.
@buildingthephilippines Have you watched the latest Old Dog video ?
Yes, his land is not far from us. Very unfortunate. They are a great couple.
Very nice 😊

Seems to work pretty well. We are happy with it.
We will put up a dense mesh screen shade over our pool
Our neighbour has it, it is great
UV rated

Yes, you certainly can be just off grid. Just purchase an off grid inverter. They are actually cheaper.
@@buildingthephilippines Thank you!!
Sir how is your solar battery going ? Is it the lVTOPSUN
@@robkelso4397 it's doing great. No issues. Yes, LV topsun

Did you even have a Starlink video??
Does your security system have the ability to communicate with a monitoring center to dispatch the police or fire department,

How expensive is starlink in the Philippines
You can get the hardware for as little as 14,000 pesos, then 2,700 pesos per month.

Glad to hear all went well for you guys up there. We dodged another one. Take care.
My electric bill (dumaguete )is half of what we paid in Bohol
What was the cost per kilowatt watt in Bohol? Probably the cost hike directly related to all the grid infrastructure damage during Typhoon Odette.
@buildingthephilippines Odette was bad no water or electric 47 days I don't know the klw cost but my bills were 10 k here only 5 k plus we purchased inverter appliances
Wow, huge difference.
Buy UPS for Starlink
You need ,c4 charges on your perimeter.that about do it.😅😅😅
with trip wire
Extra bonus-clear the brush!😝😝😝😆

I wonder if that person you are referring used Michael O'Riordan consulting company there in Dumaguete. I'm assuming not.
I have no idea who that is?

Yes, he does bark during the night if he hears something.

@@timb4224 it's not rated for outside, but it's as humid indoors as outdoors.
@buildingthephilippines Very good point. If by chance this one doesn't make because of the humidity, maybe consider an outdoor version next time.
@timb4224 great idea, I did not know that was an option. Thanks.
He finds out he owns the empty lot. I hope he did not empty his wallet 😰
I'm sure quite a bit he did.
Why they gotta be so scummy there?
Scams happen all over the world. Definitely not unique to the Philippines.
