- I need a hammer eye drift with a slightly different profile to the one i'm currently using. So i made one and i'm going to show you guys how its done.

Great content as always Daniel. I'm making one by hand today from a automotive cv axle shaft. I arc welded some half pipe jaws to some scrap tongs for the project. Of course I had to see you make one to put me right on the forming of the tool.
I counted 12 I like the hook ruler on your power hammer. Nice tool.

I got a dozen, 12. Would be a great tool to have, as I just acquired a real anvil and hope to be forging on it by Christmas. Great video, enjoyed it.

Nice job on the drift. I made mine by hand from a large car CV shaft. Nearly blew my foo foo valve beating that sucker in to shape with a 4lb hammer!

12 times. I used an axle for mine and it took a lot more effort by hand than you did with the power hammer. Lol Nice looking drift.
What grade steel did you use for this? Plus I like those Googly eyes. And to answer the contest question late and wrong “every time”

How long have you been forging with ballpeen? Just curious because I was using one the other day and really liked it. I counted 10 but uhhhh everyone else is saying 12.... I'm sticking with 10 LOL, watched again its 12!
I count 7, going in, so 14 total? The double speed was quite tricky.

What steel did you use for this ? Sounded like you only mentioned it was a "special" steel. Is it an S or H series alloy ? Ive read that S7 is an excellent option, although it's suposedly hard to work as well as expensive, and requires spot on thermal control during heat treatment.
P.s. I bet that thing's a beast for bustin out hemorrhoids. 😱😵😉
I did say but I can see how you missed it. It's fork lift truck tine which is normally 4140. Depends on the tine. I've stopped using H series steels as there just to difficult and dangerous to work with. I have little to know problems with 4140.

6 in, 6 out, so, 12. Personally I would have been sneaky and edited out 1 of the exits to give an odd number.
well that must have been a bad day was it some thing you ate haha i counted 5 in a 6 out the first time you went in you cut the tape and and in the rplay in slowmo it shows you reaper out side the green door with all of the cuts and hi speed/slow mo just can't tell i need better vid software to tell but i will stick to my 11 in/out's god bless be safe
