Personally, I would like to see an OC that comes from a power 4 program. Being a winner at UTEP, Liberty, or Texas State, dose not necessarily equate to SEC football.
Years ago, college football coaches weren't allowed to call plays. Bud Wilkinson won a lot of games and wasn't allowed to call plays. Why not give Jackson Arnold some authority to make the calls instead of waiting for the OC to signal them in? I don't mean just being able to audible. I don't think letting the QB call some and the OC call some could be any worse than what I've seen this year. Go Sooners!
Im only interested in running pro style offense anymore! It’s such a great strategy and a better way to operate if your program can pick up on it soon enough!
Pro style offenses are running what's hot in college. Any time Oklahoma has been a factor it has been with a unconventional offense ,the wishbone ,the air raid, were trend setters not followers that's sooner history.
Bring back Thomas Lott, Kenny King, Elvis Peacock, and David Overstreet…run the ball 90% of the time, hook and trail, punt on third and twenty like we did in the 70’s, and give this defense a fighting chance… that would be my strategy for this year’s team!! What bothers me most about all the whining and knee jerk reactions of the media and a lot of the OU fake fan base, is that I totally believe that Sawchuk, Barnes, and Taylor Tatum are all going to be nfl running backs and all you hear is all this negativity because of what’s obviously been horrible circumstances in our first year in the SEC…and btw, all the sec fan bases are piling on now because they’re afraid of what’s coming in the next couple of years!! OUDNA 💪
Barnes and Sawchuck won't be NFL , they are to small, Tatum has a chance cause he is the only one talented enough to make it. Tatum is sadly the best running back we got right now and it doesnt say much considering his poor handles with the ball
@@chriscarpenter5139 It’s a matter of if they make it or not. Neither one is too small??!! It’s a wait and see, both have eligibility and BOTH ARE TALENTED!! Our offensive line has nothing to do with how good these guys are!!
That O line must be revamped, and the Portal is where the immediate help will have to come from. You cannot run the ball consistently or even well at all with what we have now. Whoever comes here, needs to be someone who can get those guys, and the NIL money to back him up getting them.
Tbh idc either if they Oklahoma ties, we need a OC who wants to win period. Who does the homework, has a way of changing the dynamics of the offense and can read defenses
They really need to go outside of the program and get an innovative play caller thats also an excellent recruiter. They have to run a style that compliments the defense cause that D can hold their own.
Listening to Venables talk on the Rudy's show he said "I love watching guys who do more with less" he wasn't talking about his next hire but it did make me feel like the next hire is probably gonna be Willie Korn or Brennan Marion. He has connections to Willie Korn so that'd be my guess on who he picks. 😂 Just my opinion I know that looking to deep into it.
Brent did take something off the table though, and that’s Brennan Marion. He specifically said we are not going to the triple option and specified why afterwards. There’s no need to even talk about Brennan anymore being in contention for a OC hire. Mike Shanahan and others are a much more desirable fit with the packages we want to run with the personnel we have in the conference we play in.
@@mmmmcolbert8787 he did say exactly that, without mentioning Brennan’s name in particular. But it’s obvious if he’s ruling out triple option then he’s completely ruled out Marion.
@@Valanahara might be in over his head ,he has joe Jon calling plays ,he's never done that according to lane kiffen, emmitt Jones who as oc at Texas tech put up 51 on our defense in "22 ,a game we lost, and he won't let him call plays, something is up and he is running outta time to figure it out.
So let me guess. Lebby was very good but hard to control. BV wanted a loyal yes man rather than a hired gun who actually was a competent OC. I dunno. I am 100 percent certain that is Bob was faced with an OC leaving his offense wouldn't totally collapse. In fact, we know that is the case because it happened many times. This is ultimately on the head coach. If Bob was coaching right now they would be far better than this.
I hate to say it because I actually like BV but I think he is in over his head maybe he needs to go back to doing what he does best and that's running the defense and let somebody else be the head coach if things get any worse which I think they will because I think we're going to have a Mass Exodus at the end of the season I hope I'm wrong but we will see I don't understand why Brent venables doesn't go on an offensive coordinator search instead of promoting from within Joe John Finley has been a part of this miserable offense all season so why promote him? Was that one of those good old boy promotions? If things get any worse we're going to have to start wearing sacks over our heads like the New Orleans saints was doing back in the 80s hopefully this thing will prove me wrong but I'm starting to have my doubts

What is there to talk about? We already know, our o lines is trash, our WRs are hurt, JA is starting. JJF is calling plays, don’t expect anything different. RB room will continue to struggle with our terrible o line and low wr production. And we’re playing on the road against a lifting offense. What more do you want to know?
Andy isn't much better than Seth to be honest, sure he has had some success a bit more than Seth, but his offenses have only been ranked at its best #20 in the nation and that was 2022, every other season his offense has been middle of the pack or towards the back half of FBS teams. In his 6 years as OC at Utah these are his total offense rankings: 2019 # 47 2020: #50 2021: #39 2022: #20 2023: # 94 2024 (to date) # 79 Just don't see Andy being worth the money.
We have 2 plays on offense, qb run and qb sack.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 so true
Hey 😭give some respect to javontae Barnes he’s playing good lol
No now there's two plays. you forgot about that's interceptions and fumbles
You forgot QB interception. Very explosive play 😂
You forgot one. The 3 yard pass
Y’all left out Chuck Long. He was after Mangino
Lets Go OU .... one play at a time we can do it !!!
Come on man don't start saying that that reminds me of the Tennessee fans back when they sucked they kept saying one brick at a time
Lol no they can't

I agree and I'm not a fan of the transfer portal because we are getting other teams rejects just look at the offensive line

Let’s stop worrying about how long the new OC will be there before he’s even been found.

Eli getting injured Jackson and Peyton’s senior year is what caused the team to not be in the state finals. QB would just target Eli’s replacement
