I was Sooner born in '73....went to OU in '91....I saw Roy Williams play in person when #3 OU stomped #1 Nebraska and put the rest of the country on notice that OU was back big time in 2000....Roy Williams might be the best defensive player I ever saw in an OU uniform...Roy Williams was like Boz - always on the ball, every single play. Thanks for the Superman play, the National Championship, and all the great plays you made as a Sooner my man!
With all the talk about how much players deserve to be paid and how much they are exploited, it is nice to hear from a guy like Roy that said he didn't want to be a player that just took from the program and never gave back, and he donated a big chunk of money to improve the weight room. Class act and program guy.
That OU 2000 Red October victory run is my favorite Sooner memory! Thanks to Roy Williams for being an important part of that achievement! 👍
Sitting in the deer stand listening to the rally against A&M in November with my grandpa will always be one of my favorite memories. Needless to say, we didn’t see shit that day haha.

I love seeing how fired up Teddy is for the Roy section. Headphones advised but I promise it's worth it, Great interview. Also crazy to hear Roy talk about giving money back to the school that gave him so much, Such a different mindset compared to today. (Dont hate NIL just saying)

Go back and watch the press conference after the 2000 NC game and listen to Bobby Bowden talk about Roy Williams. It’s good. He was blown away with how that guy was all over the field. He was almost at a loss of words Thats how impressed he was with Roy Williams.

I don't know if you guys actually read the comments on here, but I just wanted to let you know how awesome it is you gave our good friend Shawn a shoutout. He was not only the most die hard OU fan I have ever known buy he was a great husband father and friend. He luves his life for his family and the Lord. He was one of the sweetest men I have ever know. He was a true friend that would give you the shirt off his back and never considered saying no if someone asked for help. Everyone that knew him loved him and he truly loved them back. I will miss him everyday for the rest of my life. We love you buddy and if we Liv our lives half as good as you we will see you one day in heaven

A TON OF BALLERS, I know I left off some key defenders out from that era. And in that Cotton bowl y’all were talking about, Arkansas finished with 50 yards offense on 55 plays, unbelievable. If Williams stays this year he still has the free transfer in his back pocket and will be looking for the big money next year and it causes turmoil every year he’s here over transfer roomers but I think he goes to USC because LA has the best nail salons and has a big trans community.

The only BYU guys I can think of that made it to the NFL are Ty Dettmer which didn't pant out for him and of course Steve Young. Of course Steve is a HOF'er and one of the best ever but outside of those two guys one of which flamed out, I can't think of anyone else from BYU offhand.
Do you really think Oklahoma will be able to compete regularly for SEC championships? We’re already seeing what NIL is doing for Texas and Texas A&M, which undoubtedly will be in the same division or pod as Oklahoma. SEC realignment has not been announced, but you have to figure that, in a 9-game schedule, they will be playing one or two other playoff-level teams. Oklahoma may have some good seasons, but I think they will find it much harder to be top of their division year-in, year-out than in the current Big 12.

For starters It will be nearly impossible for OU to make the playoffs once they go to the SEC.ters, kids aren't as enamored with the history of a program as they used to be and are looking for more of the settings and hype/ drip of a program. (Oregon is the king of this)
Recruiting hotbed they do not have in their advantage and if they are lucky they will have a handful of players in OK that are top 100-150 players.
You are only as good in recruiting as your record and they will be a middle-of-the-pack team in the SEC.
With everything stated above that will make it nearly impossible for them to prosper in the SEC.
No they will now be able to recruit with venables and lebby and bates in the south. We already have Texas area sewn up. I think ou will be able to have a top 5 class year in and out with this group of coaches in place now. We will see. It's a guess right now, but venables has coached in more nattys than anyone except Saban. It means a lot. Read his bio. It's more than incredible
