Have to confess, I always watch your cleaning/decluttering video's doing nothing. Tired of a full day at work and I don't want to do anything. But when you stop my 15 minutes start! Wonderful motivating video's!!!!
me too!! :) I find it fun and calming to watch Diane in action and chat away.. I don't want to miss anything. And then, I get my backside off the chair (lol)
I squoosh, squoosh, squoosh too since I began watching you. It makes cleaning windows more fun and makes me smile and think of you cleaning as well. I believe you are the only voice I hear saying, "you don't have to buy anything, just shop your house"- it is very comforting!! :) Your guest room looks awesome, I really like the framed pictures above the bed! I don't know how you do it, but you make cleaning more fun and doable! Have a great weekend with your friends!!
Diane, I have to tell you I have been watching you for a while and have learned so many things. I especially have been learning all kinds of wonderful things about Denmark!! It sounds like such a wonderful, happy, and beautiful place to live. Your videos really get me going and I do not know how well I would do without you. I just want to tell you how much you are inspiring people including myself. I hope you are truly enjoying making the videos because we are truly enjoying watching you. You are a great person for doing this. Thank you!-------Tressa Daigle One day I must visit Denmark!
Started cleaning my windows with your "squoosh, squoosh, squoosh " method. They're sparkling! Why I was waiting about 10 years because I wanted to do it properly/perfect with a bucket of water.......? Now happy "squooshing" around the house. Pom pom salute and go me.
I like your drawings! Figure drawing wasn’t my strong point in school, I finally bought a really nice anatomy book so I could practice. Your reminders about not doing zone cleaning and detail cleaning until you get your routines down pat are so helpful. I think I need to take a look at my routine lists (which I’ve added to) and see what needs to be in zone cleaning later. Thank you! Skoosh skoosh!!!! ❤️💕😊
Check! Guest bedroom is done here too :) :) Our guest bedroom is rather empty at the moment but that is a GOOD thing, because we have decluttered a treadmill and an exercise bike from it! We just bought a chocolate brown futon that looks nice as a sofa yet turns into a bed for guests! I just did the same thing 2 weeks ago and "shopped" from our little house too. I added a table clock on a little bench in there... a clock that my husband did not like that had been in our bedroom, but otherwise worked nicely. I had fretted that it was still too empty for his parents when they visited last week, but then I reminded myself not to be a perfectionist about it ;) I'll add a few touches to it when I am in there again this week. I love your cozy guest room, and how you can decorate with a minimalist attitude while still making things hygge-ly. heehee Thank you for cheering up my "blah" week. It has been a tough past couple of days, but nothing bad, just that blah-ness that causes fret and worry.
"we are all scatter-brained" - Funny Diane.. count me in on that... I put it down to being easily distracted. I see something, start on that, or take it to another room. And once in that room, see something else, and on it goes... It's like a dog chasing its tail :) I guess I have to be more focussed on just doing the job at hand.... Or maybe get some pom-poms so I can do a song and dance when I complete a task on time!! Love your drawings over the bed... did you draw them? You're multi-lingual, you sew, and draw! Go you! Would you believe that Nick Cave's mother is our back neighbour???!!! Have seen him and his family visiting from the UK often - small world isn't it? Enjoy looking after the kiddies, and enjoy term break! LLAP! Helen :)
Wow, this is just what I needed to see. My guest room last had a guest in July and I haven't touched it since, not even to change the bedding! AND I've just been chucking stuff in there to deal with later. Time for me to get hopping in the guest room. :)
I like your new IKEA hanger/shelf unit. That covers two needs that I like to offer in my guest room: a place to put clothes and luggage. I also like to have a comfortable chair to sit in, so a guest can have someplace to sit besides just the bed, and you have that, too! LOVE your idea of framing the WiFi passwords etc!! Tissues, extra blankets, towels and a rack to hang the damp ones on (our bathroom doesn't have enough space for multiple towels to hang!) We also have TV's in all of our bedrooms. I appreciate this so I can go in my room and catch the news or watch something to relax before bed when I am a guest. Not necessary, just nice.
Well done- the room looks lovely and I’m sure your guests will love it! The IKEA unit is a great idea, I might have to get one for our seaside home! Such a good idea instead of bulky wardrobes. Hope you have a great half term. Xx
Thank you Diane. You are so thoughtful, obvious for the efforts you have made to make your guests feel welcome and comfortable. Yes I am squoosh squooch squoosh devotee too now. Haha. If course still decluttering... does it ever end? Bye till the next video. 🇦🇺 Olwyn
You have a beautiful guest room with such thought put into guest robes, maps, Danish flag etc. I plan to do the same when my house is built. I have designed a fully self-contained apartment for my guests with a kitchenette, separate shower room and separate toilet with space for a bed, small table & chairs and a sofa & TV. They will never want to leave! I’m guessing it will be a Zone all by itself! I may even hire a cleaner to clean it after guests leave so that I just have to freshen up before new ones arrive. Any thoughts Diane? The rest of my home will be 4 bed, 2 bath, 1 extra toilet, office, kitchen, dining, lounge with lots of large windows, plus a large indoor/outdoor patio - and I expect I’ll still be working full-time.
We have a 1/2 bathroom and an upstairs bathroom I'll be tackling as the "main" bathroom, and I may hit various "other" rooms this week. Got the 1/2 bath done yesterday - it's so small it took less than 10 minutes, LOL.
I am still trying to make sure I understand the zone principles. If it wasn't the week for this particular zone but you still have guest coming, would you have cleaned the room the same way?

Hooray! That is what we are all about...working together and having fun!

Aww, thank you, Tressa! Yes, I love making the videos...and they keep me accountable ;-)
I agree, Diane has been such a blessing and I have learned so much!!

good for you Margaret... Go You!
I love the skoosh skoosh too... and use that as my prompt to get the windows cleaned!

Hooray for shopping your own stuff! Sorry to hear you've had some blah days too - we seem to be on the same cycle with those! LOL!
I do "skoosh, skoosh, skoosh" now, too! ☺

Nick Cave's Mum?! Oh my, it is a small world!

Thank you Diane! Day two of my flylady life! Your encouraging me on my journey!
Ooooo, how exciting - day 2! Go, Karina!

It's nice to see you in a different room. It makes a nice change. Also I have learnt so much from your videos. Thank you.
Merci Diane, toujours aussi motivante et souriante:-) vos amis vont passer de bons moments dans ce bel environnement
Switched out old washclothes and purchased a fresh new stack for the bath. The old go to the animal shelter.
Yay, go you, Jeanne!
Plan to purchase a new mattress for the guest room but will probably be in the January sales.

Woo hoo!
Tub/Toilet/sink done on upstairs - just need to do the floor tonight - Go me! :)

Hi Amy! I always give the guest bedroom more TLC when guests are coming.
Am I the only one that feels like the feather duster is coming undone from the stick soon? Haha Diane, maybe it's meant to be loose?
I stuck it on myself with tape - homemade! LOL!
it is verry nace
How do you clean your feather duster??
I shake it outside.
😆
Il était caché où le Timer?
Dans mon caddie qui contient mes articles de nettoyage! LOL!
Haha j’ai essayé de trouver d’où venait le bruit mais j’avais pas trouvé 😂😂😂
Bisous 💙💙💙
