Honestly speak, people in hillbrow don't know how to take care of a place... The littering, the trading... And majority of the people there are not South Africans
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It’s true that areas like Hillbrow have faced challenges, but with time and investment, there’s hope for transformation. A community effort is key to maintaining and uplifting these spaces. I believe we can move toward creating a more positive and sustainable environment for everyone.
What would make it better is removing cars and adding dedicated bike lanes as well as adding more residential areas in the centre as opposed to the suburbs and thus decreasing the need for people to drive there.
Thank you! Rosebank and Johannesburg have indeed made great strides in incorporating greenery into the urban landscape. It’s a wonderful aspect of the city’s growth!

I’ve been living in Brisbane for the last 6 years and find it quite remarkable that, at least at the time when you recorded this, that part of Rosebank hasn’t changed much since I was last there.
Thank you for sharing your sentiment! It’s beautiful to see people from all walks of life feeling at home and appreciated in these spaces. I believe that inclusivity and understanding are key to creating a welcoming environment for everyone.
Ahhhh memories 🙂 I like Rosebank. What a difference the pandemic makes - there’s next to no one around, and it’s super clean. It was always clean but this looks really clean…..and quiet. But what time of the day is this taken? Early morning? Can’t wait to return. Cheers from Canada 👊
Thanks for sharing your memories and thoughts! Yes, Rosebank has definitely adapted to a quieter, cleaner vibe. This video was taken in the early afternoon on a weekend, which is typically when it’s a bit more peaceful. Looking forward to seeing it bustling again soon! Safe travels from South Africa and thanks for watching!
This man must be hired by the south African tourism dept, I know for a fact that he's not south African but he admires this country in all the vlogs I've seen. I hope this message reaches to the relevant people! 😉
All the countries have the same problem just give credit when credit is due please don't add that some south africans this and that what about your country are the citizens in your country equal
Thank you for sharing your perspective. It’s true that many countries face similar challenges, and it’s important to recognize the progress as well as the areas where improvement is needed. Conversations like these help us reflect and work towards positive change.
Thanks for your feedback! I appreciate the suggestion, but my approach focuses on documenting what’s there as authentically as possible. Hiding number plates isn’t something I plan to do at this stage. I hope you still enjoy the content!
I love the quietness of this video. Maybe having subtitles or the places during the week would be helpful to those not familiar with the area. SA is a beautiful country
A positive perspective can make a difference in how we view challenges. It's important to acknowledge progress and strive for growth, despite the difficulties we may face.
In my opinion, good triumphs over evil and the rule of law is applied. As is the case anywhere in the world, try to stay away from isolated public spaces. If someone wants to rob you, they will want your possessions and not your life.
@larry sizmore the country is like any other countries it has its no go zones where you will be mugged for sure n areas like melrose arch you are unlikely to get robbed maybe if you think you can visit than go n walk around hillbrow or small street downtown you will get mugged

Jealous is real in this world. People always has something negative to say about South Africa.

To be frank SA is good country but racism is the major problem in this country.
