    Grass isn't always greener. I left my regional for an LLC and now im at a legacy and I hate it. I honestly want to go back to regional.

    I took SkyWest a few months ago from SFO-LAX under American (also have taken it a long time ago under Delta).

    Well I enjoyed your vlog and Sky Harbor is my favorite airport, we're in Tucson. Regional does sounds as if it is easier than being on mainline, I've seen other flight attendant videos where they're sitting in an airport for 6 hours are more hoping they will get a call to work.

    Are you still a regional flight attendant? I work for Allegiant, so we are a little different from other flight attendants cause we are home every night.
    I love being based at a smaller airline ( TYS) it's so nice.
    We have 3 hr flights, well from here to LAS is about 4 hrs up 3 hrs back.
    Most of our flights can be an hour and 30 to 2 hrs, so not bad . Our planes fit 186, we have four flight attendants on board :)
    We are changing planes at some point, so all new training.
    I feel like your with skywest working with four major airlines :)
    Great vlog

    Sounds like your current situation works best for you. You're alot like, to where crowds, and co-workers can stress you. Glad you get to travel, even if small towns on schedule. Sometimes the smaller towns are nicer.
    Question for ya. Is the cost of living high where you are? One bedroom apartments less than $1,200 a month?
    Take care, stay safe, and happy travels. Oh, you are so right. Midland Texas doesn't have a whole lot to do. 🛫🤠👍

      I feel like Phoenix use to be pretty affordable but now a one bedroom apartment averages about 1,200 a month and that’s before taxes and utilities.

    Hi nice to meet you. I love this video. I'm very curious about being a regional Flight Attendant because I love the career and I want to be mainline but I want to experience regional as well and learn as much as possible. Thank you so much for sharing this. I have a question about relocating to the new base. Do you know by any chance if I can stay in a crash pad while I save up for an apartment or find roommates, or can I stay in a motel while I'm not flying? Thank you so much.

    Short flights could change if your airline adds bases.

    Great video ! I am a retired teacher and am contemplating applying for some regionals . Just wondering how open the airlines are to hiring older people.

      I’ve worked with a few flight attendants who have started in their 50’s-60’s. There is no age discrimination or age limit. I’d say go for it! ❤️

      Is there any rhyme or reason to what base you are assigned ? I know one allows you yo put down your top three preferences .

    • @jumpseatbrief
      @jumpseatbrief  2 роки тому +1

      Some airlines hire specifically for a base. Other than that, it’s just based on company need at the time of your graduation.

    I was looking at applying to Skywest and live in Huntsville, Alabama and wondered if you knew what most likely bases are and if I could possibly "commute" from Huntsville or Birmingham? Delta and AA fly out of Huntsville a lot and I'm not sure how the regional carriers work? Thank you!

    • @jumpseatbrief
      @jumpseatbrief  Рік тому

      Aww I love Huntsville! I know we fly AA from Dallas to Huntsville. I’m not sure about any other bases

    • @Bamaflier
      @Bamaflier Рік тому

      Thank you so much! Does that mean it would be commutable from Huntsville to Dallas? I have a family in California so I'm trying to stay in Huntsville, commute to a base that's reasonable and possibly have some flight to CALI ... I know nothing is guaranteed but how likely is being based on ATL as a new hire or shortly after?

    • @jumpseatbrief
      @jumpseatbrief  Рік тому +1

      It’s definitely commutable from Dallas. And I’m not very sure about Atlanta. I haven’t heard anything about new hires getting sent there.

      I flew in and out of Huntsville over ten years ago on American Eagle from Chicago/O’Hare.

      @Bamaflier Рік тому +1

      @@tmreed thank you! I checked the flights to see what airlines do a lot of flying in and out of Huntsville and AA definitely does, so I think Skywest has flight privileges with AA....just worried about the flights being so full these days 🥱

    I am a refugee now I can only be a regional flight attendant but after 6 years I can apply for citizenship of the country I live in and then I can be an international flight attendant I know my flight may be long and to be honest. I'm afraid I'm too old for international flights but being a flight attendant is really my dream like I said I can't imagine doing anything else!! Wish me luck and I wish you all the best and success

      How do you know you can work for only regional and not main airlines ? Curious as I am about to get my work authorization in a few months and want to know my options… can’t think of anything else other than being a flight attendant.. having worked for over 8 years as a flight attendant, makes you kinda addicted to this profession 😅 no matter which part of world you are, you are just drawn to it

      I don’t know of any regional airline that hires someone who is not a U.S. citizen or has the legal right to work in the States.
