I love how you keep saying "Do your research" but you, honestly ARE THE RESEARCH LOL. You are informing us of a lot of information that you can't find elsewhere or on the companies website. Very informative, THANK YOU FOR THIS!
Thank you for the video. In the early days of aviation, female flight attendants had to be nurses. World War II changed that because nurses were needed by the military, so airlines could not find enough for FA positions and the changes were made.
Thank you for this. My final interview with skywest over the phone tomorrow. This is what I want, I'm happy to hear about the rapid professional development in regional vs mainline. Wish me luck. 😊
Thank you so very much for letting us know the real deal about being a flight attendant! Now do the airlines hire older people who are retired ? They might be good candidates for a job with a very low pay! Also are you aspiring to join a major legacy carrier? as you said you will make $10 extra an hour and that is a big difference!
I really enjoyed this vlog. I just got accepted to train with the mainline Allegiant :) I love it, we only do turns so we are never away from home, unless weather or mechanical issues. I can't wait. Your right though you really gotta do your research, and a regional flight attendant is so different from mainline. But yes do your research before choosing an airline, do your research and make a list of pros and cons to being a regional vs a mainline flight attendant
In my fifties I would work a reginal line, I'm not into to the international traveling. Mexico and Canada do not sound too bad. Right now I'm just looking for a part time job with 20-30 hours, this old girl just can't keep going the way I used to. 👵🏾🙂👩🏾🦳
Chrmurr: you could be a perfect candidate for a Regional airlines.... they want older retired women as they know they have some money stashed away in a bank. The airlines know that their pay is low so they prefer people who have money of their own so they wont complain about making little money!! What you can hope for is to meet a rich fat ole daddy on one of your flights!!
So glad to hear that you will continue to be a flight attendant after nursing school! :-) loved your video! Thank you so much for the info! That's awesome about nursing school too! I really admire that. That was something I always wanted to do but I said God had another calling for me. I'm a caregiver for my youngest son w/ cerebral palsy. 😀 He's now 22 and beginning a new chapter in his life starting work soon which with the help of my husband/his father I too am able to pursue my dream career. Starting training soon and I'm Literally counting the days!! 😀 safe travels! Looking forward to more videos! :-) and also best of luck with nursing school! No doubt you'll do great!
Thank you for your time doing this video, is very helpful, you have the best tips. Do u think that experience is a good or bad thing if u wanna apply to a main airline like delta ?
Can you work for a regional airline and then move on to a main line airline? do mainline airlines give preference to regional flight attendants? so once you put your time in with regional can you move on to major airline?
genten777 yes you can move on to mainline. I have plenty of friends that started with a regional and now work for a mainline. Most regional don’t give you preferences but if you work for endeavor or envoy they’re owned by mainline company’s.
Love the video! May I ask, how was it being a nursing student but on reserve ? I know you mentioned you started a line the next month, so do you recommend being on line before starting nursing school? Because you have to be at clinical certain days and all of that. I know this was pre - COVID but im trying to get back in nursing school and be a FA as well
I love this video very informative and good for you for going back to school! I’m about to graduate college and I wanna start working regional where I’m based at before I decide to go mainline.
If you don’t want to work for a regional company don’t apply to one. Delta, American , United , Alaskan , and jet blue are a few company’s that aren’t regionals.
I’m going to apply to become a flight attendant. But I’m concerned about having to know how to swim for training. Do you have to know how to swim well? Or what’s that part of training like?
mainline is too much drama. Too many different personalities. I like flying with just 1 other FA. It’s way easier. If you dont vibe, just fake it. at least you don’t have to fake it with 3 other flight attendants. Layovers are overrated. They get old after 6 months. Usually you’re too tired to do anything anyway. I do this career for flight benefits only, not to make friends at work. Plus your coworkers are the biggest snitches. always be careful what you do and say at work because they will not think twice about going behind your back and reporting you to their manager. This industry has a massive snitch problem. So try not to get too close with your coworkers

Vernon's Blog Thank you. I just want want everyone to be informed because I was not !
She really was though 🤣💞
As a regional captain, this is why I do my best to treat yall with the most respect and do what i can to make yalls job easier.
Brambleshire I always appreciate when you pilots are nice to us little flight attendants
I bet, how many have you got pu$$y from?
Getting a line at Mainline (AA, Delta, & United) takes between 15-18 years ..yes research is the key. Thank You!
As a Puerto Rican, flight attendant pay is WAY higher than what I made living in my home island, I’m grateful I have this job :(❤️

You did a great job listing pros and cons. Hope all goes well for you.
I like how honest you are. A lot of them only show the pros not the cons in being a flight attendant.
Thanks for being Transparent for new people coming into the industry. I am studying flight Dispatch for CR 200. I love Aviation!
I just got hired with a regional airline. This was very informative. Thank you for sharing.

bexparker2 Thank you so much. I always wanted to be a nurse so why not do both. Good luck with training you’ll do great !
@@kendaljanae9753 thank you so much! :-)
I can confirm it's true I'm regional in Canada I fly lots of small cities and the pay is lower at first
When I had credit card debt, I remember $35 being a king's ransom after I paid my bills. This was for two weeks!
You never mentioned the flight benefits as a regional. Is the same as main line? You get to fly for free and family passes are given?
Which airline do you work for?
love this video
Thank you!
Thanks for this! Do you know likely it is to get based in ATL with your airline? I would commute from Huntsville?
@Kendal Janae awesome video great cuzzo I'm going to be getting a job as a flight attendant
Thank you for your time doing this video, is very helpful, you have the best tips. Do u think that experience is a good or bad thing if u wanna apply to a main airline like delta ?

Is that an air Wisconsin uniform ?
No
Omg I’m trying to get DTW but they gave me MSP. Is it easy to get into DTW?
Catherine Meads DTW is very junior
@@kendaljanae9753 those crj 200s are the worst
So how do you get days off !? How do you take time off if you need too
Commutair no doubt!

Do you fly alone? Meaning no other flight attendant.
We have one aircraft CRJ 200 that has one flight attendant
I love this video very informative and good for you for going back to school! I’m about to graduate college and I wanna start working regional where I’m based at before I decide to go mainline.
ImKat Thats a great plan. It’ll give you time to figure out if this is the career for you
Can people work part time as a Mesa flight attendant?
do you get the option to not work regional? Or that’s just for flight attendants that have work for the company for a while ?
If you don’t want to work for a regional company don’t apply to one. Delta, American , United , Alaskan , and jet blue are a few company’s that aren’t regionals.
Are you still a flight attendant? At a Regional? Are you familiar with Mesa airlines
Yes I’m still a flight attendant at a regional. Ive been on maternity leave. I don’t know much about Mesa airlines.
I’m going to apply to become a flight attendant. But I’m concerned about having to know how to swim for training. Do you have to know how to swim well? Or what’s that part of training like?
cassandra W Swimming wasn't a requirement for my airline. I know some airlines make you do a water test but you have a life jacket on.
Kendal Janae 👌ok thanks for responding
Hello
Why don’t you apply to mainline.
Anthony Camacho I have, I keep getting a TBNT

Did you go to school to be RN, LPN, or what? Where did you go to school online?
Currently in a LPN program. It’s called AIAM located in Ohio
