Today's video with Adagio, a lot of effort was put in. You did a really good job of doing a comparison. The thing that was really impressive was how well SirHairLess presented the reaction/education show all together. I think you did a really good show. Great job in editing the differences and super job in explaining the differences, showing the differences, hopefully others learning. I just want to acknowledge all the hard stuff that goes on that we may miss.

Exactly right. I have been watching for years now, mostly stopped watching ‘experts’ as often they lacked any of the feeling side of things & their analysis was never all that interesting or saying anything that hadn’t already been said. Sir Hairless really doesn’t know how great he is I don’t think. I’d watch much longer videos than this, I’m always interested, always learn things.

I heard that when Dimash arrived in China in 2017, the only English words he knew were "Hi, I'm Dimash," "thank you" and may be a few more words. It was a touching moment when his name was about to be called to give the first performance on the first episode and was competing with professional singers. He looked like he was about to cry with nervousness.

Lara Fabian actually reached out to Dimash after seeing this performance to congratulate him. It was great thing for a big star to reach out to a young, still practically unknown young lad.
On the other hand - after performing Opera 2 - Dimash was informed he is forbidden to sing it again...
She even wrote the lyrics of one of his songs: Your Love.

Igor Krutoy wrote/arranged those songs for Lara Fabian for an album & tour. He then arranged them to suite Dimash voice (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mademoiselle_Zhivago). Some of them are close enough that some fans created virtual duets with both of them with Igor on the piano.
@@meirahand adagio is not from Igor, Lara created it 10 years before meeting Igor.
The other ones, yes, Igor composed these and Lara wrote the lyrics of Mademoiselle Hyde and most other songs of this album.
Lara also wrote the french lyrics of "Je t’aime encore" which was a bonus track in this album. It was later translated for her in russian and became Love of Tired Swans.
In 2022, Igor said about Lara that she is « both the best singer and songwriter he ever collaborated with ».

I like the Albinoni - Adagio since I was a child - it has always an emotional impact on me. When I first heard the version of Lara I felt it throughout my whole body. I never expected that there might be another version that goes even deeper under the skin straight into the heart - but well if Dimash brings it on stage .... He doesn´t sing it he lives the song, he IS the song.

Thank you - I forgot to say the other day that you really might consider to check „Requiem- the story of one sky“ which is not only moving but also a masterpiece of composition. It took Dimash three years to write this song and it‘s message of peace is now needed more than ever. It also has references in it to John Lennons „Imagine“ and to Michael Jacksons „earth song“ if one knows those. 🥰

I love this performance by Dimash, and I loved the reaction of the crowd. The Chines people were so warm and welcoming to him, although they had never before had a competitor from outside China. I really like how Lara picks and chooses when to use vibrato. She never over uses her vibrato like lots of singers do today
👉 For non musicians: The language of music is Italian. Adagio is an Italian word and is used in music to denote tempo, meaning: 'calm', 'slow'. In this song, adagio roughly means: If it is to be, then it will be.
The interpretation of the song by Dimash is brilliant. He touches my heart and soul ... every time.
The shaking of his head and the trembling of the chin has nothing to do with the vibrato. It just goes to show that Dimash can be a little nervous and tense too. It was about a lot. In the previous episode 5 (Uptown Funk) he knocked everyone out of their seats, but still only took a back seat. Either he won now or he would go home. Of course, Dimash won Episode 6.
'Adagio in g minor' - today, known as one of the most popular compositions of classical music; composed of alleged fragments of Tomaso Albinoni's; in 1958, joined together by Remo Giazotto (* 4. Sept. 1910; † 26. Aug. 1998 - Italian musicologist, music critic, and composer).
Camilo Sesto wrote 1985 the original lyrics in Spanish to this piece. Lara Fabian wrote the lyrics in Italian and English. Composers Rick Allison, Dave Pickell and Lara Fabian arranged the piece into a pop song. Since then, this song has been part of Lara Fabian's repertoire.
* Lara Fabian, *1970, is a fantastic Belgian-Canadian pop singer and songwriter. She has sold over 20 million records worldwide and is one of the best-selling Belgian artists of all time. In 2017, she returned permanently to Montreal, Quebec, to be with her family.
At the age of eight she studied for 10 years at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. She is classical trained, speaks 6 languages and sings in 13 languages. Her albums have been awarded gold and platinum in the whole world.
Lara is a great role model for Dimash. Even as a child Dimash wanted to be on stage with Igor Krutoy and Lara Fabian one day ... and for Dimash the dream came true of the 65th birthday of Igor Krutoy in 2019.

I missed out on an education in music so I adore learning about how music works from you. Between harmony and disharmony music conveys emotion meaning we humans, no matter our cultural background, react the same way explaining why music in a universal language. You also explain how Dimash's understanding of music helps him increase the tension and wow factor in his compositions. Thank you.

Dimash has perfected the cry at the end of a note. This song is played around with, they don't get to sing the whole thing, as its a competition. He is 22 here, doesn't speak or understand English or Chinese, can't imagine the stress of performing in a language you don't understand or speak to an audience who doesn't either. Struggles to converse with the other competitors too, they didn't give him a translator. The competitors are all well known names in China, Dimash was invited in, the youngest ever to be at that time, 2017. Then it was always going to be a Chinese winner - politics and all. (There was an massive backlash as Dimash was clearly the winner) But they gave him 2nd place. Thankfully the show doesn't do that now.
This is where his SOS performance - rocketed him on to other peoples in boxes. He got the show 600 Million views for his one SOS performance. He didn't understand why he needed bodyguard's after this show.
Lara is a big fan of Dimash, there is a clip where she sends him a birthday present. The audience in this show is made up of teachers / coaches / music students and some general public who mark each singer. He was the first singer on this show, who sung SOS a french song.
The program got to choose some of the songs they sung. Dimash did not have full control of what he did.
Seemingly China likes singers who can sing high notes. Must be their thing.
He sung in multiple languages in this show, he even sung one of the Chinese's favourite songs. How challenging is that.

a wee correction. All of the singers had a manager on the show who accompanied and introduced their performances throughout the show. Dimash had a Khazak guy from the Khazak community in another Province who translated for him. Some of the contestants spoke good English (which is taught in high schools and universities in China) like Tia Ray and another lady. My bet is most of the young people in the audience speak English very well. I should know, I spent enough time in China.

I'm really appreciating your choices of the order of your reactions. They do indeed build on each other. What I heard about this performance was Dimash had a bad week before this performance and he was feared to be voted out. He came back in his Kazak flag colored suit and he sang his heart out to stay in with Adagio. Even though his English is flubbed, it's such a moving performance, he had them all on their feet again.

I suggested in a previous video the song "Samaltau" due to the Kobyz (you have to read the lyrics first)...I will also suggest the two versions of "Know" (the one with lyrics and the vocalise) preferably back to back, for their intense eastern vibe...Keep the addiction growing!!
Yes and I’ll add my favorite Samaltau version is the Tokyo Jazz festival version done simply in his home studio during pandemic while he sits on a stool. The traditional instruments including kobyz are wonderful, & this version allows us to see all up close without all the distractions of other visuals for bigger performances.
