Smurf, you've made me laugh!! Talking about measuring and not being able to get the 3m stop end in to hold it up. "It's not really going to work is it?" No, it's f*****g not!!! I just thought that was funny! 😂 We've all been there- those moments when the plasterer's problem solving brain has to kick in!🙂🙂

As we're all agreed there's no asbestos in the artex, I'd have deployed my 6" blade, long handled scraper and got rid of a lot more of those lumps and bumps round those fiddly bits. Makes a mess, yes and clearing the mess up has already been talked about but as this is 'soft' artex, makes life easier in the long run. Of course, it's going on thick around the stop ends so the plaster covers anyway- I'm talking more 'in general'.
Smurf, at 20 mins, your pet parrot has left a poop on your left shoulder!
I do like how you 'thumb in' a bit of plaster in the back edge of the stop end. I'd have done that as well as it makes the finished product look so much better. Apprentices out there- Pay attention to the small details that aren't always obvious. Write that down! 🙂🙂

I have to say - I find it strange that a lot of spreads leave their edges 'tatty' between hits and trowel-ups - It takes maybe a minute! to run a radiator Brush along ceiling lines, door & window frames etc ... And keeps it looking GREAT! - Not to say Soooo much easier at the end 👍🤠

I'm with you on this. I had an 'artist brush' which I'd use to run along every where you've mentioned between each hit. The blue tape on new plastic windows was alright but only if it was on properly. Most of the time it wasn't, which is a real pain so I would take it off and do exactly as you say. All nice and clean when finished. 🙂

Yes we do, but I like this motor too much! It’s a zombie wagon, does well in a holocaust.

@@Plastersmurf74 And it has tyres with sticking out nails to act as spikes for snow and ice traction for getting to any job, anywhere in winter! 😉🙂

Run some tape around the tiles edges next time 😅

I find tape waste full, I tend to wash things if they can be washed. Tiles clean up good.
