Update: Get that dark mode wallpaper while it's hot 😁 - thanks for the love and support.
Also 2,500 likes and you can have a dark mode version too :)
Ok question using a pixel Fold and using the wallpaper it comes in huge and not everything shows what am I doing wrong
I hope we'll reach the 2.5K mark soon, really loving the design! 😄
Portland, JAMAICA in the Building!!! 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Let's get that dark mode wallpaper!
Waiting for that dark wallpaper
These recent Android updates have become so boring that they're almost not worth a video. Long gone are the days when a new version made you feel like you've got a new phone.
This is how we're gonna get "7 Years" of updates 😌. Accept it.
Yea true. I remember back when I had like iphone 6 or 6s and thr updates where to wait for but now same as android it's boring
Phones are essential part of our lives... It has matured... There is nothing much can be done from here...
Iphone user can feel this
@@mohammadowaisnajmiActually no. Even though IOS releases aren't crazy big. These small features they release casually become essentials in my life. For example, IOS 17 was a small update focusing on experiences helpful when communicating. I practically use every feature. From the transcribed voice messages to NameDrop. IOS 15 was even a smaller release but it had some pretty good features too, like FaceTime updates and focus modes.
i don't think there is a need for a UI change. Material 3 is not even done yet. Android versions don't mean much now, coz they are being shipped very quickly. so if they did make a new version of material right now, THAT, would be the real disappointing move.
Any change is good change as long as it's stable, secure, and customizable.
exactly.
Material 3 is done right? Am I wrong?
@@iamtharunraj The language maybe, the implementation not at all. some Google apps, chromeOS and some Google websites are not (fully) in Material 3 yet (such as Authenticator app, and pretty much all Google websites except the Android ones). I think flutter also hasn't fully implementated Material 3. (correct me on that) ik that's kinda being nitpicky but my point is it's too early for a new design language when people still aren't even used to this one.
Frfr
Predictive back gesture animation will revolutionate the way android works and feels, i can't wait for it to be widely available
Predictive features are so often hit and miss though - I'd rather they were ALL opt in, rather than opt out.
@@mnomadvfxyep and given googles track record, they STAY hit and miss for literally years and years 😢
I feel like this should have been a follow up version to Android 14, like 14.1 or something. It seems, Google is just adding a few new stuff, fixing bugs and rolling it out as the "major" update. There is basically nothing new from Android 13 to 14 either...
15 is the last major update my phone will get, doesn't seem like there is much to be hyped for.
Android has long since entered into a yearly incremental small update cycle vs the more violent shifts of the early years of the OS.
I would not expect anything truly mind blowing to come to Android again.
I would like for Dolby Atmos to be implemented on this release for true HD Stereo Audio
Great idea !
I know we have spatial audio but yeah , it's not the same as Dolby Atmos
Atmos is useless until micro speakers get better.
The coming shift MEMS speakers may bring that, but as with MEMS microphones in smartphones it will take years for it to become common.
Even then, Atmos is still going to be useless coming from the phone speakers vs headphones.
@@Adarlamusia
Atmos IS spatial audio, as is DTS X.
Google: Need simple features of Android like, double tap to screen off, app lock, dual apps, brightness level in single scroll of notification panel etc.
I will NEVER buy Google phone ever again. I really dreamed of a Pixel phone and got the Pix 6 Pro few years back and it was the most miserable experience. I love my OnePlus!!!!!!!
All these settings are already available in Xiaomi hyper OS/ miui
One UI has all of these features 🙏
@@diandakov uhhh okay?
@@diandakov i dont remember asking
I got it couple hours ago like the continue apps from the inside screen to the outside screen on the Pixel Fold. Plus new wifi security and other carriers.
This is just a taste. I'm sure they are waiting till I/O to release all the good stuff.
saw your DNB in the music app!! My man has great taste!
Thanks for the wallpaper, it's really coool
I do have this Default Payment Method feature on my Pixel 4a with android 13 where i can choose my preferred choose my NFC Banking app? Or is this something else?
Thank you for updating us with the news regarding the new update. I have just installed it on my second great Pixel 7a device. On the main Pixel 8, I prefer having the stable release!
Unfortunately, there aren't almost any interface changes in Android 15. I have the feeling that Google has not made any progress in the UI area and doesn't know what to do next.
I know minus some, absolutely bare minimum tweeks (mainly in the settings menu) there is 0 difference, I wish they would change the interface give it a fresh look since 12 it's barley changed it gets kinda boring, they should also add customisation to homescreen icons, be nice to see maybe 3d icons, moveable icons, or just a different shape! Samsung are great for adding new features with there updates, Seems Google have become redundant, sure people will say it's Perfect so why change it... They need to understand not every one wants to see them same thing over and over it's redundant
@@dandanhullyou can install a launcher for 3d icons
❤ Thank you, Damien.❤️
How about screen mirror functionality?
I have used a different default payment app for a while here in Germany. Is it a regional thing?
What about desktop mode and dual audio feature?
I feel like I've had all of these features in the various custom roms I've been using for the last two years, except the device name in wifi network feature
Good stuff! I subb'ed today!
Great video buddy
Damien, how many 👍🏼 to get those great wallpapers in landscape for the Pixel Tablet?
I'm really looking forward to edge to edge content display, it's something that Google should've addressed a long time ago.
did he leave android authority for 9to5google?
Google should bring volume slider for pixel too.
More UI customization available would be nice
It could be me, but I did notice a very subtle change in the font also when long pressing an app. And another thing, I feel that the force stop icon changed also? Could be just me tho
Have a Pixel 6 and just received the 15 update. Unfortunately the fingerprint scanner doesn't appear every time when locked.
still no transparent gesture navigation bar?
thank your for update
We're reaching the peak of hardware and software. No more big updgrades. Juts small tweaks here and there and that's it. It's not their fault cuz u can't really think of something big and new that you could add to these updates anymore, unlike years ago where there was so much stuff missing. The only thing I'd complain about is that they shouldn't change the name from Android 12 for example to Android 13, maybe call it android 12.2 after the update instead cuz you're hyping up the expectations and then after the update people are disappointed.
At this point better ai integration with the os will be welcome. Like having an AI manage the device read and reply to messages while I'm not available.. that kind of stuff.
I think they should system level themes. Maybe even add themes to the Play Store. Android is known for customisation and Google should embrace it. Also it would be great if they make screenshots more powerful like iOS.
You look like italian singer Max Pezzali, Damien! 😂
Ecco chi mi ricordava 😂
which devices you are using in this video
What about those status bar icon changes?
Not enabled by default yet.
Does Pixel 6 Pro support android 15?
You missed out the the google desktop (very similar to chrome OS)
The selection of the wallet app is not even new. They just renamed it. It used to be called default contactless payment app.
Does moving something elsewhere counts as something new? That wallet thing was already in at least the last 3...4 android versions but in it was in another place
What's new regarding the default payment app again? I can change the default payment app right now on Android 12.
How is this a major version update? These are like the most minor of features.
Google ran out of ideas some time ago. Android 9 or 10 was the last real major update. It's a shame, really, because Android has the potential to be so much more.
They don't need to add new major features every single update. It doesn't need to be overly complicated.
@@parallaxicalyea instead of adding new major features, they now adding almost none features every single update😂, please name even one super useful feature from 13 to 14?
None😂
@@fantasytky28 I can't name one because I haven't looked into it, or had one I was interested in. Android 15 should be adding a desktop mode to Google pixels.
@@parallaxical "Google pixel" hence mean nothing to android.
@@fantasytky28 making new features for base android isn't a smart thing to do anymore. Most companies build off of base android, adding their own features. Google Pixel is the only phone where you should truly care about lack of features coming to base android considering it's the closest to showing its' true self.
How do you stack again in developer
I'm not on the beta, but I've noticed that I've had that predictive back animation in the gmail app this week.
And on the phone app too
How does the new status bar get enabled?
Has battery management improved or worsened compared to previous android?
Pixel 6 Pro has received the Android 15 beta
Improved a lot
i want to see what devices are connected on hotspot instead of how many are connected and an option to block them.
Is there any solution to why it always says Couldn’t update? Using Pixel 8 Pro.
Is NFC borken with this update? Google Pay / Wallet and apps that rely on NFC is not working? Anyone facing similar issues?
Yeah, NFC is not working for now
@@thestrain. Yikess, maybe I will opt out of Beta program, I can't use wallet payment nor any apps that tap to a NFC device, any work around??
Yes
It's not working on my P6P
why can't they make the predictive back gesture like on the wear os, like it works perfectly fine there, why not just tweak that a little and put it on normal android
It would be nice if they add some new things to the launcher like being able to set all the apps in the theme.
They should let us change the app drawer icons
When 15 out ?
How is the performance, especially scrolling? Pixel 8 series are often a bit choppy when scrolling. Google mentioned this will be fixed in Amdroid 15. Is it fixed in beta 1 already?
A bit better
Basically changing major versions means nothing any more. It should be Android 13.1 not 15.
Yes, and that's a good thing. Most updates are done via the Play Store.
@@BojanTomicnot just that. It also shows how polished and matured the OS is at this point. There isn't much to improve besides minor tweaks here and there.
14.1*
It's better that way. Shows how mature android is now.
Yeah... As simple Android number schemes are now perhaps they should go with the older numbering scheme, like back in the android 4.x era.
Is the "at a glance widget" fully removable yet?
They been saying "Android is customizable" 😂
@@psychoticseries one ui is far more customisable
@@psychoticseriesI mean, technically speaking, the Pixels are one of the easiest devices to root, enabling almost any customization you want. A rooted android is still android, which still makes android more customizable.
Still can't prevent disabling the internet connection while the Pixel is locked? If your Pixel is stolen it is very easy to lose its location
No news for delete the date upper left? I hate it
The edge to edge one is LONG overdue
we want more app customize square round and any new design
I'd love stackable widgets just to be able to keep everything Minimalist in one tab and better routines, would love to be able to turn location and open an app at a certain time
Wish they would include an option to remove the search bar from the home screen
Did damien come back to 9 to 5? Seems cool i always liked him better for the android videos over the new guy.
Best thing seems to be the privacy about unsecured mobile network beingnsecure or not.
I just want the peel bar floating in space without the black bars
Android 15 already? 😢
May I ask if anyone else shares my opinion that the Material U design could be improved? I do not mean to cause offense, but I believe the iPhone's user interface design is more aesthetically pleasing.
Yesss for the Edge to edge apps. I just hate the current apps display
I've updated my pixel 6 to 15 beta 1.1 but still it shows android 14 in the android Easter egg and security update
Cannot update on Pixel 8 Pro button >
Please add samsung lossless codec, please
No going back in camera UI.
I'm using Google's messaging app on Pixel 7.
When I delete an SMS message (eg "what do you want for dinner?" SMS to the wife) to clean up my app, I'm left with lines reading "RCS chat with " and "Texting with (SMS/MMS)".
I can't get rid of those lines.
Any ideas?
Why don't they put the brightness bar at the bottom? It's hard to reach 😡
all I want from A15 is that we finally can decide if we want games to be in fullscreen mode or not. There's no reason to vertical games be in fullscreen mode, I want to see my notification bar while playing a simple vertical game like Dokkan Battle. Thats the only thing I really like with iOS over Android.
Hopefully android 15 will solve the call cutting issue effecting numerous pixel 7 and 7a after the android 14 update.
Pretty stable for beta 1 though 👍
Google needs to bring back categories for messages
Pixel 6 esim stopped working after the update...
Bruh, android 14 litterally just came out. can google stop rushing these things ffs. Back when android 4 and 5 were a thing it would take years for a new version and with plenty more features.
The first feature sounds like a Godsend! I'd love to use my phone to pay outside of the US.
I'd love to see all apps work on Android 15. Kind of over seeing "this app was made for an older version"
this makes me less sad for not getting the android 15 update
I wish pixel phones had a white balance feature display like iphone has true tone. I'm pretty sure samsung galaxy also has this feature. I always see myself turning on night mode becuase the display colors are to too cold. Coming from an iphone that is one of things that I really miss. Also, I'm not the biggest fan the pixel's control center. I love my pixel 8 pro but I wish I could change some things.
Dear Google, Please make the Material You in dark mode look as good as Light Mode.
Damien what happens if i am on beta 14 QPR3 and now i don't want to participate on beta 15?.... I just leave the beta program without wiping my phone or ii is wiping anyway?
You can opt out without wipe
I did the opt out but I received an OTA that says all data will be lost...I don't know what to do?
can public download the beta or is it best to wait untill the full version is realised
Yes but it's best to wait...it could brick your phone
@@Richard17xxit can't if yk what you're doing
I don't think it would be an issue...been in betas since Android 12..never faced any major issue that bricked my phone or forced me to revert to stable..A15 beta 1 is pretty much good for a daily driver
iOS 18 is looking to be groundbreaking ❤
Can’t wait for it ❤❤
The call screen is different
I love this!
Is A15 beta 1 can be used as daily driver?
If you rely on touchless NFC payments I would not recommend
More people need to complain about the Digital Clock Widget not allowing the removal of the day and date. Having the day and date on the widget adds to the day and date in the At a Glance widget resulting in having duplicate day and date on your home screen with no way to remove either of them!!! Why can't this be fixed!? I've been complaining about this to the developers for years!!
How in the world are we on Android 15 and app names on the home page are still truncated? And no, I will not download another launcher to compensate for that.
When will the update come?
August to December depending on what phone you have
Can we please have an option to increase the ICON size on a higher grid damnt !!!!! It looks horrendous tiny on a large pixel pro device 😠😠😠
P.S - The new Hello UI on Moto devices looks superbly polished🤘🏼, hopefully they can back up with timely bug fixes & updates ✌🏼
Android is highly customizable and we can't even remove the At A Glance widget from the home screen anymore 😂
Silly question did a new modem update come with this update
Why don't the add floating window, it's highly underrated, i mean what's the use of big screen powerfull phone🤦
I hope Beta 2 adds some more major feature updates and UI enhancements. This seems really tame and underwhelming for the main beta drop.
Android 15 Beta 1 issue, Android version is still 14?
Are pixel 6 & pro going to get Android 15?
Yes
@@karmadel786
Nice, I am very happy with my pixel 6
I can't use Google wallet NFC at the moment. Tried numerous NFC terminals and kept getting denied
Known issue. Nfc doesn't work.
you cant select copy paste in google messages, and you cant make the navigation bar invisible, also let us move the google search bar. Not really asking for a lot, but I guess google is now like apple where they don't listen to feedback anymore. I don't care who does it, but whoever has that plus chrome tab groups gets my money from now on.
The pixel buds app can't turn off multipoint. One of the major bugs
