More recent delays are due to Apple (surprise there 😂) dragging it's feet on security across the networks in someway. Also there's far more to consider I'd imagine when its open across all brands and devices, not just a single device with some subtle iterations

The Android "Save Parking" is a setting. I've noticed that many people mistakenly/unknowingly disable it when setting up the device or through a one-off action. I realized this because my phone asked me multiple times, which I declined. Then the day I needed it, it wasn't there. And after a few months I went through the settings and found it was disabled.
Why are they talking about this as if Apple were the first and only one to have this thing 💀 Samsung has had this for a long time too, this just makes it 100 times better because it expands the network to every Android device.
The beauty of this too is Google and Apple were working together on this to stomp out stalking. So iphones should notify you of android trackers nearby and vice versa. Win win imo when companies work together.
We use air tags for our dogs and I get a notification on my Android phone when we travel with the dogs. I didn't see an option to "trust the tracker" though.
If I cant find my phone at home. I just say to my google mini "I can't find me phone". Google will unmute my phone, turn the ringer to max and ring my phone" best feature ever.
Samsung tags only work with Samsung phones. That probably sold a few more Galaxy phones, but the tags dont work on Googles find my device network and will soon be obsolete.
@tklotz1 Airtags only work with Apple phones. I've been using the Samsung tags since they were out and have had no issues with them working. I can even see the tags when they are in a different state than me... And btw, Google and Samsung work closely together.
I didn't know if my speakers could find my phone the other day, I was frustrated and just asked on a lark, and it rang my phone, which ended up sitting right in front of my face...🙄😂

Question from an Android user regarding AirTags: Why would someone else get a notification about the presence of an Air tag if the owner is there as well? Shouldn't you only be notified if a tag is near you and the owner is away from it?
That is how it usually works. I have an AirTag in my wallet and the only time a someone got a notification for it was when I had my iPhone battery replaced and a friend was with me.
I daily drive an Android phone but have an old iphone in my bag all the time too for those “ecosystem features” like airdrop. My airpods always - no joke, every day - ping on other people’s devices saying that I can see their location. Even when the phone and the airpods are next to each other! Makes me even more frustrated with the apple ecosystem.

Samsung SmartTag 2 is aaaaaamazing, way better than AirTag. Also, if you can't find your phone at home, and have Google smart speakers (doesn't have to be Nest), you can ask "Where is my phone?" and your phone will ring...

At last, an alternative to Air Tag! I primarily use Android Auto, and when we reach, it prompts us to "Save Parking Location." The main problem with this is that the network isn't very strong in basements, so it might not follow us when we go back. I simply click a photo of the numbered column next to it.

Using any Google service on your Android will result in this challenge, and this issue is mitigated slightly with iOS, but not completely. They do, however, provide improved privacy.
As usually google is too late. I already invest many things in Samsung ecosystem... samsung smart tag, air-conditioned, TV, smartMonitor, washing machine... for laptop never need one. Just connect work PC with my Fold 5 for seamless copy/paste image&text.

This definitely wont invalidate airtags, they almost definitely won't be supported with the android network and probably will stay with apple's network. iPhones are also still very dominant (in america anyway) so Apple's network isn't going anywhere soon

Not in most big cities in the US. iPhones are the vast majority here and many Android users will buy old iPhones just to use Airtags.
