The only thing I would suggest carrying is a heavy spoon, like a Kastmaster or Hopkins Shorty, in 1 1/2 -3OZ depending on your rod/reel/lb test of your setup. My best day ever from the surf was on the north fork, on like the biggest Kastmaster they made at the time. We worked them right along the bottom, and had bass up to 50lbs for almost an entire tide.
@@Bsprecksfishing It's not so much the weight as it is that a large Kastmaster, Hopkins, or Krocodile, have a large profile, and they have action when retrieved slowly along the bottom. The albie tins are smaller, and really don't have much action. I do bucktails too, but I'm old school, I prefer the above metals for working close to bottom. The rest of your surf bag I'm 100% on board with!
Don't hesitate to use a needlefish no matter what time it is. Day or night they work just as well, just work them a little differently. I've been using them day and night since the early eighties. Great vidio!
Lost my dancos in the surf somehow, trying a gerber. So far early season has been good with the bomber long shot, sp minnow and mag darters. Good luck out there Brian! Thanks for the vid 🤙🏼
@@Bsprecksfishing for those conditions I like to use a larger SP minnow in the blurple or bone color, I’ve gotten decent bass with those. I have used a black mag darter with success as well in those types of situations. Then of course if there’s plenty of wash I’ll tie on a bucktail.
awesome collection
Thanks for watching!
Love your seasonal plug bag review. Good stuff
Thanks for watching!
Love the yo zuri darter. Caught a lot of striped bass on that lure this year. Wish they weren't so expensive!
Yeah they’re definitely a go to lure
Very informative as well as helpful. THX.
Thanks for watching!
Excellent. Man, you pack a lot of stuff in a small space! Well done, sir!
Thank you!
The Gotcha metal lure are pretty good for the price at Walmart. They work good for the albies just change out they split ring and hook
Never woulda thought of gotchas for albies, I know they use em in Florida for Spanish mackerel
@@Bsprecksfishing not the plugs they make tins too. They look like crippled herring type lures
@@TheNorthForkCatch ohhh
It’s laughable when people try to justify the van staal pliers. Unless you’re in the upper class, I can’t see how any fisherman justifies it.
Seriously, my 40$ pair of Danco pliers w/ line cutter and a split ring tip have last 5+ seasons. Zero rust, no issues
Yeah I mean I spend a lot on rods and reels, but not pliers
Cheap Amazon pliers or harbor freight work just as good as $250. The saltwater Rapala pliers are pretty good too
I have the Danco premio titanium they are exactly the same as the VS half the price
Thanks for sharing Brian Good luck this Fall
Thank you! Likewise
The tsunami eels are just plain ol deadly! My favorite
I have better luck with them in calm surf
My Uncle caught an Almaco Jack this weekend by Demo. Wild, I've never seen one around here before. Not sure how common that is but it was new for us.
@@SupposedlyFunThing I think it was probably a banded rudderfish

Oh wow 3oz is heavy, my crippled herring and the large size dd are 2oz, I should get a heavier tin

Check out Accurate’s pliers. Good price. I’ve had my pair for years now
Thanks!

Nice! What’s your go to plug, at night, ocean surf, medium rough surf?

What's the retrieve method on the swimmers; I never get it right.
I just try to get them mid-water column, and swimming nicely
Any problems with getting the leader wallet wet?
Nope!
How do you use the tsnuami swimshad?
Steady retrieve or bouncing it off the bottom depending where the fish are in the water column
boba's damage fish lips
Yeah the ones I have definitely look easier on the lips
