  • We are cooking, again so another vlog filled with good, good food, plus it's also father's day so we cooked up a special meal for those people.
    #Hutterite #cooking
    Rhubarb Muffins: 4:24
    3/4 cups brown sugar
    1 1/4 cups butter
    4 cups rhubarb
    2 1/2 eggs
    5 cups flour
    2 1/2 tsp baking soda
    2 1/2 tsp vanilla
    2 1/2 cups sour cream
    Topping:
    1/2 cups brown sugar
    3/4 cups walnuts
    1 tsp cinnamon
    Directions:
Combine all ingredients. Fill muffin tins. Sprinkle with topping and bake 25 mins at 350.
    Notes: June 2024-
the recipe for some reason didn’t come with a salt amount so I compared it with different muffin recipe that was the same size and it worked well.
    Radish and onion salad: 5:54
    www.fromachefskitchen.com/rad...
    Quinoa soup: 6:20
    Ingredients:
    4 Cups Quinoa
    3 Cups Celery (diced)
    3 Cups Onions (diced)
    3 Cups Carrots (diced)
    3 Cups Peas (optional)
    2 tbsp. Paprika
    Instructions:
Stir fry celery, onions, and carrots.
Combine Quinoa, Paprika in 16 quartz chicken soup. Boil for ½ hour. Or until Quinoa is soft. Add stir fried vegetables, and salt and pepper to taste, just before serving.
    notes from our head cook:
wash quinoa 3 times and only add as much soup broth as you need.
    Carrot ginger soup: 6:40
our head cook doesn't have a recipe, she just makes the entire soup from her head, Pinterest is full of recipes if you want one.
    Chicken wrap: 10:30
    www.halfbakedharvest.com/wprm...
we didn't have avocado on hand, so we didn't add any and we preferred to deep fry our chicken.
    Carrot juice: 16:05
    2 carrots
    1 apple
    1 orange
    1/2 inch piece of ginger
    juice, mix well and serve.
    Mocha Java pie: 19:58

I appreciate this lifestyle. When I was younger used to watch vloggers who would spend their time promoting makeup, clothing, designer items and an extravagant, self serving lifestyle. I used to feel a constant need to acquire the trendy things, and to look like the girls promoting them. I was never content with myself or with what I had. I don't watch them anymore. Thank you for sharing parts of your life with us, it encourages me to acquire skills and to serve others. I appreciate your modesty and how you never emphasis or promote vain things. Love from a 20 year old women from New Zealand.

Cinnamon is a good repellent again mosquitos, whisk together 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon with 4 cups of warm water and let steep for 1 hour, drain the cinnamon water into a spray bottle, add half of a teaspoon of dish soap and a teaspoon of rubbing alcohol to the spray bottle, shake well to combine, this is safe to use on your skin. Thank u for sharing your video really enjoyed it x

I don’t have a full formula, but I know one scientist studied a bunch of different natural remedies and concluded mosquitos hate eucalyptus the most. So any formula that includes eucalyptus oil is going to be the most effective of natural remedies.

My mom always used “Skin So Soft” by Avon as a mosquito repellent and another substitute is several drops of peppermint oil in a spray bottle of water for easy application.

A natural way to avoid mosquitos is to sit in the sun not the shade. Mosquitos can't regulate their body temperature, so sitting in the sun helps with that.

That is not even true!!. As a person who is highly allergic to mosquito bites. Our yard is loaded with mosquitoes.. and in a completely open sun filled area. And no no open water containers or anything like that or anything to hide under. They just literally are there in the thousands. There are lots of natural methods you can use to deter mosquitoes on your body without using cancer-causing chemicals

Giselle, there is a soap from the Middle East that is made of olive oil and bay leaf. Using that soap made me almost invisible to sandflies and mosquitoes. It also helped my rosacea and psoriasis. I've used it now for 15 years. Often called "Alleppo" soap. It looks ugly brown and turns green over a few months. Smells like olives. Ask at a middle eastern Muslim grocery store or order online. About $3 per bar in the USA. I'm allergic to DEET mosquito repellent. There is a bright yellow plant based spray that lasts 3 hours and stinks of lemon grass and other aromatics but it works.

If you are looking for a fantastic mosquito repellent. Use tea tree oil. Most people recommend you putting it into a carrier oil. And NO .. skin So soft does not work. As a person that is a walking mosquito buffet.. I can literally tell you that it doesn't work cuz I've tried it.
I love tea tree oil I actually use it straight on my skin and on my clothes. But you can put it into a carrier oil like sweet almond oil. Or any other body oil you like. My husband uses it and creamy baby oil that he purchased. I put like 10 drops in it and shook It up. Tea tree oil is relatively inexpensive and will last you a long time.

I've been watching a lot of your videos from the past and catching up. It's so fun to see you living a productive... Peaceful and joyful life... Its inspiring! ❤ this is off the subject of this video. I was just putting some aloe vera gel on my face... And it made me think of your lovely face. I've noticed that every now and then you'll have a small breakout. Where is, most of my life I have dealt with acne that has scarred my face. And even now that I am in my 50s I still have breakouts. Those of us who struggle, know that it comes from the internal part of our self it is not because of unclean skin. Anyway, I wanted to pass this on to you and any others who choose to live homeopathically as I do, to heal breakouts or to even stop them from happening, I have found that if you cleanse your face and then immediately put aloe vera gel on the areas where you are broken out or tend to break out... it will heal as well as prevent future breakouts. Please understand that I do not mean to make you feel awkward in any way I am just hoping that I can pass on something that I have learned that really works for me. And I hope that it works for you and any others that have been wondering what they can do. I'm Native American so I also live a life where we try to heal ourselves mostly with natural herbs, Etc❤❤❤

Mosquitoes are attracted to your breath and body heat.... so the idea is that when you take a garlic supplement there is a certain level of scent of the garlic that comes through on your breath in the mosquitoes do not like it. we are into the garlic honey around here, a lot of us put it on everything, although I don't eat it everyday so maybe that is why I don't notice a difference.

Homemmade mosquito repellant that works, 1 part witch hazel, 1 part original listerine ( the yellow one), 5 -10 drops cotronella oil or tea tree oil. Could be 1 cup each part or less for the parts.

Just curious, does Canada get Tornadoes? We have so many here in certain parts of the United States, I'm always curious where else they occur! Cooking vlogs and Christmas vlogs have always been my favorites❤❤❤Have a wonderful week!

The Ben & Jerry's O Conada ice cream is aweome. I't's my favorite of theirs next to the 1,000,000 flavours they used to have.

I’ve been using coconut oil and it seems to work on the New Brunswick mosquitoes.

On a normal week, how do you decide where to sit with meals? Is it assigned? Do you sit with your families or age group?

Hi Giselle, did you know if you rinse leafy veggies in salt water, it helps to get off the bugs. The wrap sounds delightful. Do those gloves you’re wearing help to prevent cuts? I hope you aren’t coming down either anything. I’ll look up a recipe for you and send it later, for mosquitoes. I have it I just forget to mix it up. So I stay in. In Wisconsin we have had storms on a daily occurrence. I love listening to them. So relaxing. Thank you so much for the video. I loved it. Hello Priscilla! 👋

Storms in WI this year for real! 5 tornadoes touched down the other day. Am kind of amazed we still have a roof! Many prayers for those affected here and all over "tornado alley". Many have been hit, losing homes, barns, and worst of all, lives. TC
