Finally. That’s all I can say. This is it. This is the coolest and greatest car that will ever be in front of the Auditography lens. The majestic. The iconic. For many people, the ultimate and impossible dream Audi. The legendary, and the one and only: Audi SportQuattro!! It’s been a long time coming, and I’ve searched a long time for one, and here it finally is. Thanks to my friends at LCE Performance, I can present to you the craziest car Audi has ever made. The craziest sounds you’ve ever heard a car produce. For those that love Group B rally, you can already imagine. It’s hard for me to get this excited over a car, but this is the craziest ish!
The Sport quattro, also called ”The Short One" was first presented to the public at the 1983 IAA. Delivery began in December 1984. It was developed on the basis of the Audi quattro for rallying and was produced from autumn 1984 to summer 1985 in a quantity of only 220 units. The guys at LCE Performance are very proud, after a lot of development work, to be the only ones worldwide who can offer the customers such a replica with 100% TÜV! For further information please contact them. The car is fully street legal with up to an insane 1080hp.
In terms of bodywork, Audi was able to proceed on the basis of a large number of its models in the so-called modular system. The Sport quattro is based on the two-door Audi 80 sedan up to the B-pillar and the Audi quattro from the B-pillar upwards. The Sport quattro is 320 mm shorter than the Audi quattro. The side doors are all from the Audi 80, while the tailgate is made of glass-fiber reinforced polyester resin, as was used for the front spoiler of the Audi quattro. Fenders, rear side panels, roof, hood, front and rear apron were manufactured and delivered by Seger and Hoffmann in Switzerland. These parts are made of multi-layer aramid fabric, epoxy resin and various additives. The production and processing of this dimensionally stable yet lightweight material also accounted for a large part of the total cost of the Audi Sport quattro. The weight of 1,060KG is a result of these blatant conversions to full carbon in all areas, which allows for a constant TÜV conformity.
In addition to its lightness, the Sport Quattro stands out because of the characteristics hidden under the hood. A modified five-cylinder in-line engine from the Audi A6 2.5 TDI in combination with a 92.8mm crankshaft from the South African VW T4 diesel bus and a modified Audi S2 cylinder head generates an incredible 1,081 hp. Coated forged pistons, H-shaft connecting rods and 22 mm piston pins provide the necessary stability. Breathed by a TTE 1200 turbocharger with RS 2-Wastegate, the Sport Quattro fires the 3.5-inch exhaust system, which is a custom-made product and runs from the turbocharger. A maximum boost pressure of 3.4 bar accelerates the Sport Quattro to a theoretical 330 km/h. The 6-speed manual transmission, which is operated using a CAE shifter, has been lengthened in 6th gear to allow it to operate at low revs even during longer freeway stages.

I always come to see your new video as fast as I can but just seeing that thumbnail got chills go thought my body and took me back in time to my childhood. I was born and lived almost two decades near Jyväskylä Finland and saw those monsters over and over again in the 80s. What a video once again Sir and this time personally very special one for me. @@CondoreComputing I get what you are trying to say but "getting chills trough my body" is something different imo to what you are trying to explain. Maybe I've just been trough too much in my life and I am dead inside or immune to it because of it idk but to get chills trough my body takes a lot more than seeing a thumbnail of a car I (he) never had. Just a bit of overkill to me so he either just overreacting his comment or he is hypersensitive.

What a machine! It saddens me to know that the best sounding engines are all behind us and most will never hear and smell them in person. Everyone should try and go to a local rally before it's too late and experience these sensations in person!
Yeah, true words spoken. I think also that's why it's important to collect cars with soul, as this, the RS2, RS4 B5, RS4 B7 etc etc, and have an option to drive them on weekends in the future, when all will be silent and electric.
@@Auditography Harry's Garage made a very good video on how small an impact older cars have on the environment (when driven limited km's). I had a 3b Passat saloon 6mt W8 it sounded awesome! I still have it's engine and gearbox in my garage and the rest of the car was built into my 3b 4motion tdi pd. The 2 piece Madras wheels are my favourite to this day. I'm a child of the 70s who grew up in the 80s.
There are some cars from this era that I feel have "presence" on the road.
This is one of those cars.
The 80s will represent our generation well… the 80s were the 2015-2022s of today. Electric may be the future, but a proper 80s/90s turbo setup will live in our hearts forever. They may have smallish displacement but ran with the big cubic inch monsters of the 60s. History tends to repeat itself, only it sounds way different.
I just love how he pretents to be rippin, but then spares the clutch and goes off softly :D Good man!

If you can afford it, i think this generation of performance cars (E30 M3, Lancia delta Int Evo, Merc 190 2.5, Cosworth 3 door, Ur Quattro etc) are stonewall investment grade purchases that will do nothing but appreciate and appreciate faster as the electric error comes in

i had a 2.2 quattro back in the 80's , not exactly from the same caliber as the car in video.. loved it, serviced and repaired any faults myself, i knew that car inside and out like the back of my hand, wrote it off, got the value of it paid from insurance company, bought it back off for peanuts, fixed it up myself and drove it for another 7 years until some ass drove through a red light and ploughed into the side of my car and pushed me into another car. It just fell apart after that and i sold for parts.. brilliant car. the only annoying thing was i had to change the door handles and window winders a few times and the tail light circuits always used to seperate and go faulty.. but what the hell , i loved that tornado red Audi .

@@yankees29 The scary thing about cars back then was the brakes , they just didnt stop fast ..and my audi ate exhausts .I had to change a section every year . The door opening lever broke easy and worst of all the back lights .. the metal bulb holder used to get hot and come away from the plastic . the Ariel broke easy ,, I have a modern audi years later but its nothing compared to the Audi of my 20's

Honestly for the price LCE are currently asking in 2022 for the 'base' model of this version (around 140 K) depending on interior preferences & goodies etc....,the price isn't outrageous..if you compare it to some new car cars today like a Mercedes AMG or BMW or Tesla ..love it.
I've only ever seen one Sport Quattro on the road. I was so surprised at how different it was from the original Quattro. Because it is so much shorter it's various lumps and bumps are more accentuated and cartoon like. It looks so much more taught, muscular and aggressive.
