I still find it bizarre that people who obviously love and respect and are in awe of nature and animals, feel the need to hunt them down and kill them? Using a sophisticated weapon against an animal eating in its own habitat seems a bit perverse and disrespectful! Use a camera!!
Maybe because Animals are food? Think about the thousands of years people have lived and hunted in Alaska, yet these animals arent extinct. What does that tell you 🤔
@@bryantforrest2722 non indigneous people going out of their way and just shoot the first animal they can see isnt the same as hunting for food. Im not saying its imoral to hunt but i know many and obv these 2 were doing it for fun and usually kill too many to actually eat with their family so they give away meat to justify shooting more animals
@@adamostman3509 Most people think of hunting as an investment and way to make money while feeding your family. Think of fishing, a lot of these land animals aren’t too much smarter than these fish.
Agree!
Makes comment then goes home and eats farm raised beef. Hypocrisy much?
They were in the poor grizzlies territory, poor bear minding its own business eating its dinner then these 2 AHs come along and shoot the poor thing, I’m sorry but I don’t feel a bit sorry their situation in a way the deserved all they got.
For thousands of years this is what humans did
@@sergiov8198 I don't think firearms have been around that long. For thousands of years, it was a more even battle, so to speak. And for thousands of years, humans scavenged and looked for the easiest prey, not the most life threatening.
Why kill a bear?? You did not need to do that.
They went there to hunt wild game.
Food? 🤔
Why eat beef then comment on others hunting wild game. You did not need to do that.
Omgoodness so hateful killing innocent native animals, poor precious souls. Let them live their lives in peace, put you’re guns down.
WELL SAID !!!!!!! I commented about that. They deserved what they got and more... murderers
@@flight101 I agree. Karma got him.
I got nothing wrong with hunting to eat. But we live in a time where humans have mastered farming and there literally is no need to hunt. So i agree.
If you're a self proclaimed hunter/woodsman who's trapped in the Alaskan wilderness with nothing but your rifle, and you're worried about how long your oat bars are going to last before you starve to death, then you're not a woodsman. You're just a trophy hunter who's useless without a guide. You did it wrong right from the start. Stay home. You're out of your league.
Not so sure about that. in the next video he explains about not being able to make a fire and how he considered hunting but didn't want to eat raw meat. I also think that having meat around in such a busy bear habitat is asking for trouble. In the end he was too far gone to use his gun to signal for help, but that would have been another possibility. So there were a number of reasons not to use it for hunting even if you were the best hunter/woodsman in the world
Absolutely!
Its funny when I was kid we ate raw hamburger, raw eggs and raw onions. It was some kind of German food or so my family used to tell us. We ate is a few times a years. I say this because how long would it take you to eat raw meat, for me not long. I don't want to die and his meat would be fresh. Somethings just don't add up.
@@mtadams2009 Raw hamburger raw eggs?? Doesnt sound very german to me
@@Freyia935 Steak Tartare.
Why don’t they leave wildlife alone?
No sympathy at all for these guys. Shooting anything in sight. Sigh, so much evil in this world. Poor animals, they are just cold blooded sport to these cretins.
Poor bears. Rip baby
Exactly, one good turn deserves another.
The cruelty of man is unconscionable
such kind people here human life is greater than animal life
I feel like we didn't get the ending.. also this guy may have killed his friend... And that bear was in the right. They came into his home and shot him three times. What would you do?
I like the way he took his firearm away from him because of 'extra weight '... do not allow anyone to talk you out protecting your self.
Suspicious. Very Suspicious
Why suspicious? Why would he kill his friend. Come on!!!
Who here thinks he killed his friend...???
It is definately a possibility, it did cross my mind. Something doesn't make sense, like why did he not go in the kayak while his friend and the meat were in the boat
@@dantaylor333 The bear hide was in the kayak.
@@wendycrawford1792 oh yeah ofc. I still think there was another way
He took his firearm away from him because of 'extra weight '. This alone murdered his friend.
That's what he gets for killing an innocent Bear 🐻
For food
@@dogs4homeprotection104 There are markets for that
There are millions of options before taking that life and it should only be done for survival purposes.
Pathetic , you would be eating human flesh ,when ur hungry enough, ud eat anything.
@@3eo3en73 He wasn't in a survival situation. And, the thing is he could have just went to the store or ordered some supplies via bush plane.
He wasn't starving and that's the point. He had a normal job and a life that he obtained ample food.
He went out there for sport and the fringe benefit was a big supply of food.
Trophy hunting ? 😢🤮
Monsters, killing animals in their land, you are wicked.
Killing an innocent bear n call it trophy. The men could have moved away as the bear did not threaten them.
Today’s episode of “let’s see what these assholes do” is brought to you by …..
Sometimes you get the bear sometimes the bear gets you.
The downfall was the meat ....beers you'll would eat i mean i am vegan but i used to eat meat nd i would never ever think about eating beer i will drink beers that wasn't nice for even a meat eater ....
I'm vegan myself and the murder of that bear was simply unacceptable.
That man got what he deserved.
@@EDWARDKILE more meat than they can carry tells me is for fun dey killed nd dat to me makes it more worse ...had to throw away most of it 😣😣
I wish I could feel bad but sometimes if you play you got to pay.
How long would this Guy survive a game of Amoug Us? Most sus character ever!
“Just after noon Thursday, a boater found Hagen's body in the canal near Fox Point, about 30 miles south of the river mouth. He was wearing a life vest, though it didn't look properly secured, troopers said.” The Anchorage daily news stated that Garrett’s body was found.
I think he killed him.
I'm not at all sorry about this innocent animal killer, karma has arrived.
Jerks killing bears!
Why not kill bears they kill us and they are plenty full in Alaska.
That's what he gets for killing an innocent bear.
@@3eo3en73 There are only 40 attacks by bears worldwide per year and only 11 attacks in the United States.
Your logic is that there are a lot of bears so they can be killed??? Why not apply that to humans then, no..... that would be absurd wouldn't it? Now apply that to Bears
@@EDWARDKILE you cant arbitrarily decide which animals can be killed and which cant because you dont like it... Meat is meat. Bear population management is also necessary.
@@Whatthe265 You are so right Jake, it is shocking to assume that one has the authority to choose which ones to eat, which ones to play with and which ones to work to death. I don't consume any animals at all. Murder is unnecessary when there is abundance of other options for sustenance in this modern world we live in.
How dare us have the audacity to murder members of a species because we believe there are too many of them!!!
Hey! I've been to Ketchikan twice with my granddad. We pulled a 425lb Barn Door Halibut out of Shrimp Bay just south of there.
It's definitely rugged and beautiful terrain. I wouldn't ever get off the boat without a big gun and the 2 way radio.
I'm sorry you lost your friend. 😔
Yes...poor bears...being a hunter can be bad karma
You do know that hunting licenses (which are determined according to the season’s animal population) provide the DNR with the money it needs for preservation, services etc.
We dont have DNR in Alaska 🤷♂️.
But what happened to his friend? I feel cheated...
Gr8 chanel👌 thank you✌
Hunting and fishing was a need for tens of thousands of years for the hunter-gathers, but that all changed with learning how to properly can goods, packaged meats, etc. It's no longer necessary. I used to hunt and harvest elk, muleys, wolves, etc. but I never felt good about killing animals so I quit (but I still catch and eat fish. Guess that makes me a hypocrite...so sue me). Shooting a Grizzly is just a total bullshit machismo thing that no longer has any meaning. How about instead of a large bore rifle, you try some hand to paw combat with a bear? Then I'd be impressed. Shooting one with a 7mm or a .338 Win Mag doesn't impress me one bit. You can pull a trigger...big fucking deal. I'm also sorry about your friend though. That really sucks.
I watched another show about this, in it he said he was a Jehovah’s Witness. They are not supposed to kill for sport, was the bear for meat or was he killing for sport.
Garret was my cousin. No one in the family is a trophy hunter. He hunted for the meat and furs. That part of the family is big into self-sufficiency, he would can everything.
Overloaded boat if it turns broadside to a strong current it will push upstream side of the boat up possibly dipping the lower side into the water sinking it immediately.
The kayak was too heavy, dumb move, once the kayak filled it took the skif down too
Why don't we have Part #2 here? I'm left at half the video, and I'm at the best part.
Why? What is it that man has to kill?
Karma for hunting !! Cruel humans hunt ..
Serves them right for killing those innocent animals.. wasnt though they. Wasnt though they has to eat ro survive at that point. Murdereres. What goes around comes aroumd....
This is not a survival story, rather a miracle. He is very lucky to have been found.
Staying put, finding shelter in a tree is the most stupid thing to do under such circumstances.
He didnt even try to find a better shelter/ path out.
He might as well have put a bucket over his head, assuming that if i cant see it, its not really happening.
Staying put is the quickest way to be found, actually. Wandering off in an area you're not familiar with increases the risk of not being found because no one will know where to look. If people expect you to be in a certain area and you're not there, then it becomes a guessing game and search & rescue have to spend more time and resources to search a broader area. Stay put, BUILD a shelter, find food, prepare a signal, be patient. Survival basics for such a circumstance, according to my experience. However, dude has a rifle while trapped in the Alaskan wilderness that's loaded with wild game and fish, and he's worried about his oat bars lasting. He's definitely useless without a guide. This is what happens when suburbia meets the wild.
Never heard of anyone ratting bear meat is that a thing?
I don't see how ppl eat meat anyways. The only animal I can bring myself to eat that hunts other animals is a fish and I have nasty thoughts while eating that. Like I'm eating this animal that's more than likely full of rotting flesh including itself 🤢
I was enjoying this until you just had to kill needlessly
Killing that bear was wrong. Maybe the Bears Spirit came after him...
This seems suspicious 🤔
Most probably he killed his friend.
Thought so too when I heard this story last year.
I really didn't know people eat bear...deer yeah but....
Yes bear meat is good if it’s a berry bear. Also law says you must take the meat in most places. Plus they are over populated in some places here. Depleting moose populations.
@@MatanuskaHIGH nature regulates it own numbers, it's hunting that's making the numbers & ratios uneven. It's called math & nature.

This is F A K E BS.
Anyone else watch the 2nd episode first?! Lol
So we don’t know what happened to him?!
Sus af, his voice, pursing his lips & inability to make eye contact...rewatch this, see how his demeanor changes as the story evolves. The overdramatic narration takes alot of whatever dignity this show may have had, initially. I'm pretty sure he retold the story to ensure he looked saintly for audience, in reality u know he messing his pants. Ugh, typical macho man vs Alaska....

Funny, I’ve seen the same supposedly realistic person more than once on these videos. Kind of makes me question.
