As a mechanic for quite a few years, I love your press out method for the hydraulic stop.. A pro-tip, put a towel underneath your extensions so when you're banging down it absorbs some of your impact, metal on metal to concrete will cause tennis elbow. :)
How did you like the electrical tape to protect the inside of the tube? When I do these I try to use tools that would be most readily available. I would bet that most suspension guys are cutting the fork the same way I did and never putting the inner tube in a lathe. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear I loved it all man! Very very basic run down of how to do it and effective. I wasn't trying to say you did it wrong or anything like that, I just wanted to maybe add that using a towel underneath would help with that pain in the elbow after 2 forks haha
Could you list all the specialty tools that are needed for this job? Perhaps even post links to buy? Things like the fork seal driver, damper rod tool, fork oil syringe, etc.....Thanks!
I just gotta invest in some tools. But it’s doable , if you are very handy , mechanically incline and use This and many other vids to get it done yourself. On that not. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to do it on a Brand new bike. Lol. Great vid ! Super Educational
This is an old video now so I will try to remember what I used. - K-Tech Top Cap Socket - K-Tech Cartridge Wrench (thin 14mm & top cap) - K-Tech rod pull up tool - K-Tech Cartridge socket The Ohlins rod tool will also work if you already have that. - Van
Hey Van - I have the identical k-tech setup in my ninja 400. I am swapping out the springs for my weight from 8.0 to 8.5 and the 8.5 spring is about 2 inches longer than the 8.0. Can I just drop in the 8.5 and not worry about the spring length and spacer??

That’s the first time I’ve seen you pull out the torque wrench. I love your how-to-videos, btw.
I have really good feel for torque and rarely use they torque wrench. - Van
I'm eyeballing that old Scorpion Hurricane suit on the wall. Looks new! I really liked their street gear, shame they moved away from it.
Scorpion still makes street gear, but no longer produces any leather race suits. - Van
You do fine work, Mr Van!
Thank you for watching and the kind words! - Van

Thanks so much for making these videos.
You are welcome and thank you for watching! - Van
The first time Iv ever seen him actually using a torque wrench
I only use it on the items where I feel it is necessary. Having been a professional tech for decades I have an excellent sense of torque. - Van

Please make a Video how to install a radiator guard at the Ninja 400. 👍🏻
We are sorting this out now, stay tuned. - Van

The springs should be the same length. If they are longer they are the wrong springs and you should not put them in. - Van
Nice video mate! Where I can buy this grease that you are using?
Is it the same procedure for a 1999 kawasaki zx600r would you know??
While it may have some similarities to what we have shown here I would expect it to be different. - Van
I know it’s an old video, but will the Ohlins install be roughly the same? Also do you have to grind the fork tube on the Ohlins setup? Thanks
The Ohlins do not require cutting of the forks. - Van
Why did you decide to go with K-tech? What spring rates did you use?
Hi, can the 2019 Z400 or 2019 Z250 (Asia) use the same fork kit? Any mods needed?
The Z400 yes, the other model I am not sure. - Van
hallo! if I want to do OEM fork oil change. How much fork oil should I pour in?
You will need to check the service manual to see what the OEM oil level should be. We do not run the OEM suspension or service it. - Van
thanks to Respond to my question
Can I send the oem set to you for upgrade?
Sorry we are not set up to do service work, our insurance policy does not cover us for service. - Van
Is this bike not able to get usd forks?
No only the standard forks. IMO there is no reason to change them as the bike handles very well. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear but @ high speed beyond 170+ it may become unstable
