I just did my ecu install last night but when I finally got the tank back on I have one female electrical socket left that is connected to the long cable that comes up to the tail, what cable is this that I forgot to connect? I can’t find it when I opened my bike back up
oh this looks great, and i heard all the clicks. I KNOW how hard it is to film something like this, good job... great looking video, great explanation...
Hello, nice video, but i want to ask , does flashing the ecu gives the bike more speed/ power ? Like flashing the 2015 kawasaki er6n give it more speed / km range from stock maximum 210k to like 300km or more ?
I am not sure there is an aftermarket flash/tune available for that model. Also sounds like you are in Europe so I would suggest you reach out to a shop in Europe that performs ecu flashing. - Van
I will be building the motor over the winter looking to keep it Wera Superstock Legal. If this fits into the rules we will look into adding them for sure. - Van
I ordered the ftecu bench kit, that means I have to take the ECU out of the bike to flash it correct? I want to leave the ECU in and flash it, so what do I need to order?
With the bench tune kit you will need to remove the ecu and flash it off the bike. The bike side harness allows you to flash the ecu without removing it from the bike. For the bike side kit you will need to install the harness like we show you in this video. - Van
Very nice and proff videos. I have my own dyno shop and make ecu flash almost every day. I have a tip for this ninja 400. If you set the ignition about 10 degrees erlyer in 50-100% trottle all the way from 3000rpm and up to red line, you will ad a lot off power to it.
@@testbaenken Wow! Do you think Kawi calibrated spark so retarded to accommodate bad fuel all around the world? What fuel do you suggest when adding so much advance?
Hi Brian, I have an issue with my ft ecu flash, i did everything right, but the bike wont run with any map other then the stock map, bikes start then shuts off and give me code 39, ecu comunication error, any idea what could be wrong ?
This is not something I can help over UA-cam comments. The best way to get this handled is to reach out to FTECU support and get them involved. I have worked with them when I had an issue with another bike and they got me sorted fast. - Van
I put a chain and sprocket kit on my bike from nortons motorsports, I changed the front sprocket to a 13 and then it stopped showing my speed and what gear I was in. the next day I tried riding to work and it shut off on the freeway. starts up but sounds like clanking. I ordered a new camchain tensioner from graves motorsports hoping it will fix the issue.how can I adjust the gear ratio on the ecu
I do not believe you can flash the ecu to change the gear ratio. Any time you work on the bike then have a problem it is best to go back to what you just did and double check all of your work before you begin to diagnose the problem. - Van
This video just made FT another sale. Do they have different maps, say completely stock bike and stock with just a high flow air filter? Is the quickshifter jerky from 1st to 2nd. I have the annitori QS and it's real jerky from 1st to second, and going up it the gears it gets progressively better. Tried different kill times too.
I have a 2020 Kawasaki Z400, would this process work for my bike? The only thing I have on is an aftermarket slip on exhaust an it makes my bike feel more aggressive. (Could just be the sound)

I have a stock 2019 Ninja 400 that I ride around town. Would like it to be a bit faster. Would flashing my ECU make a noticeable difference?? What kind of performance could I expect afterwards without any aftermarket upgrades?
We did not dyno the bike after this install so it is hard to give an accurate answer. IMO if the motor is stock you can get excellent performance using fuel maps that are available at no charge. If you progress to building the motor you will then need to have the bike tuned on the dyno as we have now. - Van
Yes we are running the Woodcraft Kawasaki Ninja 400 18-19 Clip-on Riser Assembly w/ Bars on the bike. These do not interfeer with the bodywork and get you into a good position on the Ninja. Total trash ECU flash software. Woolrich has 10x the tune-ability. Sorry I went with this BS version. Research your purchase! I am a confirmed FTECU customer.. totally not happy with my purchase after getting flashed with Woolrich. Wanted blockoff plate warning engine light fixed and o2 sensor engine light fixed, and was told you are out of luck unless you have the right motorcycle on our list. You sell a $400 product that you do not upgrade/fix? Says it all!
This is a model specific product. We have used it on several bikes now and had zero issues. Max's MotoAmerica bike uses this with the approved file and we have zero engine lights with outstanding performance. - Van
Awesome, as usual! I talked with the folks at FTECU and they’re unsure if the maps have been set for the 2023 yet…

You can 100% do this on your own. This kit allows you to flash the ecu with any files FTECU has in their database. - Van
