- All You Hear From Dave Dudley On The Radio Is "Six Days On The Road". He Had Much More Out Than That.
61 Single Releases (1955-1983), Out of Those Singles, 38 Top 40 Singles, and 27 Top 10's and only One Number One. "The Pool Shark" from 1970. Six Days On The Road Topped Out At #2 in 1963. His Last Charted Single Came In 1980 with Rolaids, Doan's Pills and Preparation H Which Topped Out At #77 With A Last Single Release In 1983. Much of His Material Is Not On CD, Which Is A Shame, Making His Records Truly Collectors Items To Get Dave Dudley Music.
One of My favorites You Don't Hear Comes From 1967 and This Song Topped Out at #23. This is the original version from the LP Greatest Hits Volume 2.

This was my dad's song lol he hated those gray dogs. After he retired in 1984 he rode with me to do a mid west run. I was getting on 80 near Scottsbluff and asana was getting on interesting. One of those Greyhound buses flew by us and I looked at my dad and he had a irritated look on his face. I said Dad. What do you think we go hunting some gray dog and I'll tell you what he had big ass grin on his face. I had a 79 Kenworth with a big cam 400. I put that stick up against the dash I flew by that dog like the space shuttle. My dad didn't stop smiling till we got back home because he finally got to blow the doors off of Grayhound bus.
