Red Sovine was a true American treasure. He's a great story teller & was another entertainer that was taken from this old world much too soon
Every time I listen to red sovine, I think I hear all there is to hear and then I hear something new like this and it just sets me back like wow.
I have listen to Red Solvine since I was a year old. My father was a Great music buff. We listened to him all the time. In the 51 years I’ve listened to Red. I have never heard this one before. As with All of his songs this one too, is Pure Gold. Thank you very much for sharing this with the world! 🌎

OMG (in the most respectful way). How many "little soldiers" are all grown up, today? How many tears have been shed, only to dry unchecked, instead? I was a little soldier, all grown and growing grey, but it never leaves me, the love that passed away.
I first heard this in 1979. I now have almost every song put out by Red Sovine except this one. I have been searching for this title song for the past 20 years. Thank you for posting it!
What makes this song so heartbreaking...is that the lyrics tell a story that has no ending. It goes on and on in so many families, all over the world; even today!!
Take the time to look around yourselves and I will wager that this stuff is happening, right before your very eyes...this type of misery knows no boundaries, nor does it care how much you earn, or the size of the house you live in.
Never heard of this one but a very telling story narrated by the late Red Sovine.

THIS SONG IS VERY SAD. THE STORY THAT RED SOVINE IS TELLING IS ABOUT A LITTLE BOY WHO IS NEGLECTED AND ABUSED BY HIS PARENTS IT WILL MAKE YOU CRY.
It is a pretty song but sad i love those songs by Red s and may god bless him and his family and friends i know he is with God now

I think I remember hearing this song when it first came out decades ago. I know now the weather I heard it then or not this is a song of our times. And by that I mean from the time this song came out until this day in September 2020 that has been the world that we have lived in.

It's the songlittle family soldier RedSovine but I just shared it it was recorded on a Forty five Record song an Artist through U Tube country songs and on bluth tooth recorded it in my library's music
