It's deeper on the Bridge because when the snow first Falls the thermal warmth of the ground melted before it starts to pile up when the bridge doesn't have that going on, just wanted to point that out LOL you know, like a nerd. And she is so cute falling asleep so fast
Nice vid! Was looking for reviews of a lifted CRV with G003’s and you did not disappoint here. I have a Gen 2 on 2” lift, 2” wheel spacers, and G003 225/75/16. Also glad to know I’m not the only one with 2” wheel spacers. Thanks for the vid!
hi! 1st time driving on snow here in canada. i got a crv gen 2 , 3 inch lifted at tranny, on snow should i just use the 2nd gear whenever i go? or D is okay
Good content and review on the M/T's, I'm currently on the Yoko Geo A/T's 225/70/15 and they're great on snow too but one thing that scared the f out of me was when I was crossing a bridge that had ice chunks w/ a turn going about 70mph I literally thought I was going to lose it all.. Until I hit a 6-8" dry patch and got it jerked back.
@@oscardlr4284 new stock quick struts all around with 15x7 xj rims, I believe 225/70 is the max you could go without any additional modifications period (lift or trimming) no rubbing at all and no wobbles, I even took my rd1 with this setup on a dirt bike track jeep trail in central Iowa and kept up with new Rubicons lol
cool vid man. yeah the narrower profile helps the tire cut into the snow better than a wider profile which would float on top more. Narrower tires are better for mud and snow, wider tires are better for sand and rock crawling. CRV's aren't very heavy like 31-3200lbs so you don't really need much more than 215 width for a daily, yeah some people do more but it's more for looks than function.
Makes little sense to me because when snow is deep you want to float on top and pack the snow. Snow grips to snow. For an MT tire you need very narrow channels to pack snow. Most MTs have wide channels to clear the mud.
Iv gotten a lot of feedback from Washington state about it being pretty dry there this year. This is the only snow for us so far but probably all we'll get to.
Yep..skinny tires are good... Put some weight in back...helps out alot... A.T. TIRES WOULD DO BETTER..... M.T. TIRES WANT TO DIG DOWN. .. DON'T USE Mt tires for ice fishing on lake...since they dig down.... Had Mt tires on 93. F150... Got stuck. Way. To many. Times on lake. ...tires always dug. Down 2 ice...
Thinking you should be able to do Way more then that, But maybe not I guess. Foot of snow & I'm still in 2 wheel typically even with hills in a Gen 1 Blazer..

I'll watch an RD drive around off road all day and all night. Love it.
It was a fun day
Just ordered same tires in 40/13.50/17 for my 392 jeep 😊😊😊😊they eaten up the snow with no problem 👍👍. Thanks for the video
Thats awesome.. thanks for the feedback

Are u on lift suspension or stock ? I’m tryna get same size n wondering if it’ll rub a lot.

Yo Wes. I recently moved from Va to Co and was wondering about the tire upgrade on my Crv. 215/75/15. Nice vid man. Thanks for the vid
Hows things out that way? Well these tires have done extremely well in every condition iv put them through so id definitely recommend them
Keep them as summer tires in Colorado but for winter in Colorado do bliz...tires! Summer clothes winter clothes..same concept!
Holy crap I'm surprised you didn't get stuck climbing.
Not even close to getting stuck.. I was bearly on the throttle to. I just wanted to see just how well those tires do.
Thinking you should be able to do Way more then that, But maybe not I guess. Foot of snow & I'm still in 2 wheel typically even with hills in a Gen 1 Blazer..
oh it can go farther in the snow but these B20 engines are very wimpy on power.
I like t st my CR-V, that way.maybe next winter
Was going to put a 215 75 r15 on my stock wheels without spacer or lift kits. Would it be a problem? Or will it rub?. Thanks
They will rub without the lift
did you put them on? what happened ?
Dam on same page. Tryna source a good tire size without getting lift kit . Spacers I can do but any luck?
PSI question. Have you tried running 26 PSI as recommended by Honda?
Absolutely not nor would I ever recommend that low of a pressure. What honda recommends is for stock size tires
Are you using spacers for the wheels?
Yes. 2inch spacers
And a lift kit eh? how much is it lifted if you don't mind me asking?@@VlogsByWes
You have a lift on here when you made the video?
Yes. 1inch HRG lift kit
Hey how did your clutch pack hold up? Do you feel any ware?
Clutch has been great so far
I have geolander a/t on my 99 crv and they do what I need them to do.
Yeah they are great tires
Do I need wider wheels or a lift I wanna pull the trigger n order them I have a stock and 99 crv
Is your 99 CRV lifted? I have a 99 CRV as well (not lifted) seems I’d have to go with the Geolander AT 205/70/15.
@@haze9569 did you ever pull the trigger on the Geolander AT tires for your 99 CRV?
Are those tires on the original rims size im gonna buy them rn I’m just making sure ?
Yes those are stock wheels
Are you running wheel spacers?
Yes. 2 inch
Thinner for snow, wider for mud
Indeed
Wider for deep snow.
Is that stock height on them 215s
No.. about 2 1/4 inches of lift
Nice truck is it stock height or lifted?
It has a 1 inch HRG lift on it
@@VlogsByWes 🔥🔥🔥
How many inch your lift kit ?
Actually only a 1 inch HRG lift all the way around which gives it a hair over 2 inches overall
Is ur crv lifted?
Yes.. 1inch HRG kit
Automatic or manual?
Manual
Thumbs up on vid...
Thank you
Fwd only?
AWD
Is this FWD or AWD?
AWD
Im overlanding the sh@t out of my 99. lol
How?
