We at VKMT have to make the unfortunate call to delay our anniversary showcase event to April 30th. When the MCC update released a few days ago, it brought with it a whole host of problems for the Halo 3 tools. The majority of our showcase content is within Halo 3, which puts us in an awkward situation regarding the amount of what we’d have to show for the event. We feel it’s best to wait it out and see if these major tool issues get resolved, and those who want to showcase their Halo 3 content can demonstrate it in the states THEY want it to be shown. Thank you for your understanding and your patience. We’re frustrated about these annoying circumstances, and hopefully all of this can be resolved soon.
Hadn't really heard anything about Shadowrun other than the existence of this Prototype, but seeing more of the actual game has me sad I hadn't heard of it when it came out. It seems like a pretty interesting game.
It's an underrated game, for sure. The issue was that it was laughably overpriced for a game with just MP, 3 game modes, and a handful of maps. Also, PC players needed Windows Vista and GFWL at the time, and we know how bad that turned out lol
@@quietnumber2317 yea unfortunately a lot of people are fucking morons and couldn't figure out how to use an email login. Games for Windows Live is basically what Outlook is now. That's the criticism, Gen X just can't figure out their login passwords.

But as someone who both grew up with halo aswell as stumbled upon and enjoyed shadowrun a lot in his youth, its incredible to see this! such a detailed, well explained video about two of my favourite xbox days subjects. thank you a lot Vadam! appreciating your hard work

I wonder if Shadowrun inspired the creation of the Destiny series. Some of the mechanics look near identical like the teleport and even the sword view. Bungie did start Destiny development around 2007, if I'm not mistaken.
The idea of a grappling hook was toyed with in previous ideas for Halo, but they never got it to work right. I wonder if this was one of those "test runs", to see if a grapple could work in a halo-style combat loop.
Yes! Thanks for this. Such an interesting history behind the BLAM! engine. I always wonder as I’m walking around Infinite if there’s any Halo CE code left deep within. They said it would be a new engine, but it just seems to be BLAM! With lots of fancy new gadgets… Great video. As always.
It's very possible. I mean Half-Life: Alyx on the Source 2 engine still uses the same ambient flickering light pattern that first appeared on Quake 1 back in 1996. That being said though with 20+ years of active development expect any trace of Halo 1 in Infinite to be some single line of code that goes unused or something really obscure like the light flickering pattern example I just mentioned. This is so interesting. Very cool seeing how 5+ years after Halo CE's release, it's engine was still being used by developers outside Bungie to prototype their own ideas for shooters
So with regards to the sentinel, in Shadowrun there's ordinarily people called 'riggers' who use their cyberware to interface with and control vehicles and drones. The sentinels were probably a prototype stand in for these drones, but probably wasn't developed further for one reason or another.
This is neat, I've never seen this Blam! prototype before. If you could find any stubbs the zombie stuff that'd be cool to see to since it also ran in the engine!
The sentinels were likely prototypes of drones, a category of equipment available to characters in the shadowrun universe referred to as "Riggers." Probably cut because Rigger playstyle doesn't really fit arena shooters.
This game was awesome. I logged on long after the servers were shut down and was still able to find one guy in a lobby, sending people messages saying the game was down.
HIGHLY underrated game from this era. In many ways it kind of reminds me of the play flow of Valorant now, with its counter strike like mode and abilities Even the art style and lot of the maps from valorant could slot right into shadowrun too actually thinking about it. Lotus, etc
