Do not skip this one, there are thousands of road accidents every single day and it could save your life or another person's life. American red cross has a good, fairly compact list of things to go inside a car first aid kit. - Emergency cash. At least a $20 bill, but if I were going on a long road trip, I would try to have enough in there to get a cheap motel for the night, just in case. You can keep this in your first aid kit or somewhere else non-obvious to car thieves. - Small box of car supplies. Jumper cables, the minimum supplies needed to change your tire, a tire gauge, a quart of appropriate oil, and a shop towel.
I actually really appreciate the "deinfluencer" people who say "I promise you don't need ANY of these things! You 100% have all of these things at home already." Also, HATE greenwashing cause it's EXHAUSTING to try to find actual better items. BUT it is universally true that the greenest thing you can use is the thing you already have!
I will admit I am an airwrap owner and I struggled to learn how to use it. I almost returned it but decided to do an hour of research and with some practice, lots of patience/trail and error - I can happily say I absolutely love my airwrap. I use it at least twice sometimes three times a week and have noticed improvement on the quality of my hair because it’s not being damaged by heat. However, I never thought about how the airwrap is not meant for all types of hair and can definitely agree with that as well. It’s truly a hit or miss item.
I am one of those people who saves every "good box" I get from a pair of boots or jewelry to use for closet/bureau drawer/under the bed storage! I've been using some of them for at least a decade and if I ever need to replace them they're recyclable. Especially since nobody sees them except for me, why buy something new/expensive/plastic when I already have the boxes anyway? And if you miss having the clear plastic to see what's inside, you can always label them.
I love shoe boxes. They're great for panties and socks too, the bottom of my wardrobe is shoeboxes with my small clothing items, the konmari way. They're also really cute and if I buy 2 pairs of shoes a year that's all the boxes I need for life.
Car restocking videos make me feel crazy. Like... just keep the things you use a ton or are super helpful. I keep floss, gum, and hair ties in my car. That's it.
@@EKL-qu7ih its listed in the video. i didn't know either until I watched. basically, restocking with "essential" things to keep the car organized/clean or things you might need while in your car and then being linked to an Amazon page to buy all the stuff in the video.
I heard "car restock" and thought it was about your roadside emergency box that everyone should have. But when I actually looked at one it was more like their car was a second powder room.
I once worked in a supermarket, and at closing, we had to return all items to the shelves and restock. So when I heard about the restocking videos, all I could think was WHY!!!
ok but the air wrap changed my and my partner's life simply because we didn't have a good blow dryer already but i loveee using it as a blow dryer and curler 😭 but i bought it refurb 💕
I highly recommend Cotopaxi climbing pants. They are stretchy, durable, and can pass as normal pants before or after the gym. They also usually go on sale, if youre willing to wait. They are a bit thick for a summer hiking pant. But great for winter hiking and climbing
I don't get the Stanley cup hysteria. This thing is huge to carry around, the shape is weird and it is just a cup. Why would you buy multiple of those? They take so much space I just don't understand it.
It's wild when you consider the product originated as an outdoor/sport drink container that I'm pretty sure was used mostly by men. All they did was make it "cute."
True, but there is one item I have requested after seeing it multiple times on a youtube mommy-frugality channel- and she did not get endorsed to recommend it: a microwave popcorn popper. It is not sold in Germany, so I asked my aunt in Canada to get me one when she visited. I use it for a year now and I love it. When something promises a better living, we hope it works.
Maybe if I had been 10 years younger when the Stanleys were popular I would have wanted one, but in my 30s, I am fine with my dollar store water bottles (plural because I like to have about 3 in the fridge so I can always have a cold drink ready to go when I'm going out for the day). i definitely do have a lot of stuff in my car, but it's things like an emergency kit with jumper cables and fluids, some extra clothes and toiletries in case I'm ever stuck somewhere, the spare tire and my shopping bags so I don't have to pat for paper/ plastic ones. Those things are all stuffed in the trunk, with the front seat not having a lot of clutter and the back will usually have my weekly/bi-weekly recycling stash before I take it to the grocery store.
The Stanley thing bewilders me. I admit I have around six mismatched reusable water bottles (when you're outdoorsy you tend to accumulate them over time) and they are where all my stickers end up going. Having a water bottle to match my outfit is a concept so out of this world to my brain it might have originated from Jupiter.
I agree with you on the packaging for packaging in some contexts it can be useful. Like having a few fridge organisers so your salad draw is tidy and you don’t get attacked by things falling out at you after the weekly big shop because they are awkward and don’t balance. But restocking a spare bathroom with products in plastic boxes is ludicrous. Are they a hotel?
Huh, I'm usually very sensitive to noises and I didn't hear anything unusual. I'm listening on phone speakers though and might just be in a particulate range that's is not very good on these speakers but I'd hear on headphones 🤷🏼
I am from Mongolia, country to the coldest capital city in the world. And tumblers are probably the most common and useful thing we use. And i have 2 that i use all the time. And i have bought maybe 10 of them in my life so far. But only one that really holds the heat is Stanley. I bought my Stanley before all these crazy Stanley things and on sale. I understand you don't really need 10 Stanleys to match your outfit, you are not in high school, but Stanley do keep up. They do deliver, he he.
Stanley thermoses have been a staple in Canada since I can remember but they were big and green and your dad would buy one from the hardware store and use it for all eternity 😂
Because we've moved on from the days when people used to outsource their shopping decisions to TV or magazine advertising. People will always be influenced to buy in one way or another. You can protect yourself by being knowledgeable about the intentions of those who will try to influence your purchasing decisions.
I do have to disagree on the Volkswagen point. The legislation in question was aggressively lobbied for by the American automakers manufacturing much larger and more polluting cars just at the point in time when Volkswagen had made a huge investment by building a large manufacturing plant to serve the American market. Notably the legislation only applies to small cars and the standards were impossible to meet. So sure, the cheating was wrong, but a smaller Volkswagen is still a much more environmentally friendly option than a large truck or SUV, yet those are not required to meet the stringent standards. I have questions...
Maybe it's the Canadian in me, but when you said "nobody needs a cabinet full of multiple Stanley Cups", all I could think of was that there's a long list of NHL players who would disagree. :)

Stanley cups have lead in them. Absolutely no for me. I got a 60oz water bottle from Costco when I was postpartum because I was soooo thirsty all the time & I drank more when I didn’t have to constantly refill. So I see the benefit in having a solid go to water bottle, but multiple is ridiculous unless somehow it fits a different need. I bought a different one that fit in my cup holder when I went from WFH to working in an office. My Costco water bottle spilled like 6 times in my car within a few months before I gave in and bought a different one. Now I have the cup holder one I take to and from work and my home water bottle so both get use.
I have to say… I keep my middle console of my car stocked with 🍃 2 pens 🖊️ 🍃 one sticky note 📝 pad 🍃small bottle of hand 🤚 sanitizer 🍃sanitary wipes 🧻 I use each of these on a daily basis
It's really interesting to see as someone who lives in the UK, the kind of things that hype Americans because most of these things are not an issue here (as far as I know) and these videos for restocking, Stanley cups etc don't trend...
Let's see, in my car I do keep the ONE travel mug I own that actually fits in the cupholder, car charger for my phone, tissues or paper napkins, hand sanitizer, my gas log and pen, paper manual, sunglasses, spare N95 masks, duct tape, bungee cords, and in the winter, an ice scraper. The duct tape and bungee cords are because you never know when you might need one of those. If I could keep Narcan in my car (I can't because of the temperature extremes), I would.
Thank you! We are producing and consuming an alarming amount of needless items and I’m guilty of being influenced too. Not only are we draining our wallets but also harming our environment. No amount of offsetting is going to help our planet.
Loved this video, I'd love to see more on this topic and also about how the "underconsumption" trend is not the solution to our capitalist culture of basic consumption...
Great video ! Super minor critique, but listening with my headphones, I hear a low hum going in and out throughout--a little distracting but not a huge deal!
If something is 'trendy' I automatically lose interest. I've drunk from old school flasks for years, I would avoid stanly flasks a. because they look impractical b. because I'd be like everyone else. Loved the video. I bought the Dyson because I love doing my hair and it was such a fiasco. I wish I could return it. As for the one Stanley for each outfit LOL
I have to say tho, I bought a stanley-like cup and now I’m finally drinking a good amount of water. It has worked like magic to have that straw just RIGHT THERE, and the cup Is easier to wash than a water bottle. I dunno, it just is.
I think we all need these sorts of reminders in this age of saturated advertising everytime we log into the web. Can we please have more of this type of videos?
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 is there any study about consumption after seeing the same ad over and over again? 😅 I feel like I see the same ads over and over again, it’s annoying but would that “make/convince ppl to buy”?!
Your advertising disclaimers could benefit from better contrast and frankly, larger font. Having the small print especially tiny just makes it even more suspicous.

The Volkswagen situation is from 2015 I remember. I live in Germany. It was big news here. What a mess that was. So they went electric. And the electric vehicles are too expensive, so they're not selling like they should. So they're slowly abandoning that strategy to go back to combustion engines.
I want people to enjoy things. Alot has happened the last few years. If some people want to spend 45.00 on a cup, they will. I'm happy with the cheaper dupes. But I enjoy them.
Ditching the whole skin/makeup thing is not only better for your pocketbook it’s better for the planet. Think of where all that plastic goes when you get tired of whatever you just bought and ditch it for the next “miracle” product.
I would even go one step further with the Stanley cups and say that you don’t even need that first one because most people who want them already own a similar product that serves this exact need.
I've never gone on TikTok, and everything that I see that talks about whatever is trending on it leads me to believe that it's incredibly boring! Who is watching videos of people washing their face or putting cleaning products in their cars? It seems like content someone should pay you to watch.
This is what I noticed on all under/anti consumption videos and it drives me insane 😂 I totally get that making videos is very time and skill intensive and creators deserve to be paid and sponsorships are the main way to make good money. I totally get it. At the same time, I absolutely can not stand listening to people trying to "deinfluence" us in the same exact breath as telling us we don't need to purchase things lolol
@@CH-vm6cq We're not supposed to make or receive any money other than what the government gives us each month. Was hoping maybe they had a safe way around that
Ugh, the straw wrinkle thing. My mil mentioned something about this a while back. Then, my sil, who briefly worked at the same place I did mentioned the same thing while at work. They also like to lecture others on many other topics that they are "experts" on.
I am fortunate I made decisions that changed my finances for the better (acquired over 1M in 2years) through my financiaI planner. Got my 2nd house in July and hoping to retire nxt yr.
I really agree with a lot of this. I do want to say those face masks while might be different styles been around foe more then a decade. Tho really only saw them at the Asian market when i was in middle school. An 27 now 😂. Everyone skin is different those personally i use once a month or so and my skin really enjoys it. But yeah the skin care girlies have way to much and most of the stuff isnt working for their skin type. Also has anyone else seen the kids who are putting really expensive and harsh skin care on their face 😮 it's wild. Green washing is the worst and I use to fall for it so much 🫠 i try and be better now.
I don’t like the term „influencer”. When it comes to my money, it’s only up to me how I spend it. Not someone who doesn’t even pay for this stuff. Actually I own one thing from the list - Dyson Air Wrap. Using it saves me around 3 hours a week, I bought it used and find it a great investment.
Absolutely! I have heard stories of people who started with little or no knowledge but managed to emerge victorious thanks to Ana Graciela Blackwelder.
I know the over the top restocking influencer you are talking about. I rage watch her videos. The amount of wasted time, money , energy boggles my mind. To say nothing about what all that plastic and future landfill products are doing to our environment. She makes my blood boil.
The whooshing sounds for pop ups do be very distracting and not to be dramatic or anything but upsetting to my ADHD brain. I just want to focus on the content of the video but I'm getting too distracted :(
I have loved this channel and TFD's work for many years at this point but I must admit I haven't been watching as much because every single video seems so click bait-y and reactionary. It doesn't feel like as positive of a community anymore.
When I first heard about a Stanley cup, I kept asking myself, why is everyone talking about the hockey trophy? 🤷🏼♀️
Same 😂😂😂😂
Me too! That’s how you know you’re a sports gal
I’m not a sports gal and that was still my first assumption. 😅

I spy my favorite board game (Dominion) in the bottom right background 😁
So glad I don't watch the Tik Tok or the IG. Bad enough on the UA-cam :).
Nice keep it up 👍 Continue to make a Full video On Bangladesh 😢
If I go to a friend's house I don't bring toothpaste, shampoo, etc unless I want to use a specific brand...
I’m guilty! Over consumption 😢thank you for your video. Very educational for the people! 👍
I've never gone on TikTok, and everything that I see that talks about whatever is trending on it leads me to believe that it's incredibly boring! Who is watching videos of people washing their face or putting cleaning products in their cars? It seems like content someone should pay you to watch.
I love how you talk about not consuming, and then throwing an ad in our face😂
This is what I noticed on all under/anti consumption videos and it drives me insane 😂 I totally get that making videos is very time and skill intensive and creators deserve to be paid and sponsorships are the main way to make good money. I totally get it. At the same time, I absolutely can not stand listening to people trying to "deinfluence" us in the same exact breath as telling us we don't need to purchase things lolol
Look around. All that clutter was once money.
Pls holly remove the swooshes 😭😭😭😭😭
Is there a way to invest with something like Betterment if you are on Disability and state assistance?
Can’t you use any brokerage? Or is there something about being on disability that excludes you? Genuinely curious.
@@CH-vm6cq We're not supposed to make or receive any money other than what the government gives us each month. Was hoping maybe they had a safe way around that
Enjoy the bookish background. Books are life.
Holly in red❤🎉
Ugh, the straw wrinkle thing. My mil mentioned something about this a while back. Then, my sil, who briefly worked at the same place I did mentioned the same thing while at work. They also like to lecture others on many other topics that they are "experts" on.
Why people such haters on this channel!!!!! Yalll are amazing i hope u get better comments section
Woooshh

Good I got here. Big Thanks
Advice 💨💨word word 💨💨🌬💨
I’m cheap. But I have no regrets over my LED mask.
Influencers love almost everything because they are paid to promote it and they get freebies 😂
Yay shorter videos!
What are people 'restocking' their cars with? Barnum was right.
👏🏼
What's with the low sound? It's a bit disturbing
I have a nalgene for more than 5 years!!
your thumbnail has a pic of a red light therapy mask but you talk about collagen masks.
I was wondering too
"influencing" is just modern day MLM. It even still targets primarily women. This is just Avon for zoomers.
Hallelujah!!! I’m favored and blessed with $60,000 every week! Now I can afford anything and also support the work of God and the church.
Oh really? Tell me more!,how do you make so much monthly? I’m interested.
This is what Ana Graciela Blackwelder does, she has changed my life.
After raising up to 60k trading with her, I bought a new house and car here in the US and also paid for my son’s (Oscar) surgery. Glory to God.shalom.
I know Ana Graciela Blackwelder, and I have also had success...
Absolutely! I have heard stories of people who started with little or no knowledge but managed to emerge victorious thanks to Ana Graciela Blackwelder.
Those worried about getting wrinkles by drinking from their straw, be worried about kissing then and stop doing it to also help for your wrinkles 😂 /s
I just want to focus on the content of the video but I'm getting too distracted :(
Anyone else hear a vibrating sound or is it just me😅
guys the image fly in sound effect is so annoying
I thought this film is going to be different, it didn't work for me, actuallt it created more of consumption FOMO. :(
I have loved this channel and TFD's work for many years at this point but I must admit I haven't been watching as much because every single video seems so click bait-y and reactionary. It doesn't feel like as positive of a community anymore.
I don't know who needs to hear this as well but: you don't need an airfryer.
