    The 1/3 game I play usually plays much bigger. Usually 1/3/6 and 1/3/15 or larger a quarter of the time and a lot of straddlers aggressively defend. Makes my decisions so easy.

    • @LivePokerGuide
      @LivePokerGuide  7 місяців тому

      Yeah, that's actually great for you! Might be a bit boring at times because you have to play super tight and basically almost just play jam or fold, but it keeps decisions easy and is super profitable.

    Embrace variance. So... run it once or twice?

    • @LivePokerGuide
      @LivePokerGuide  7 місяців тому +2

      Not necessarily. I prefer o run it twice whenever I can. Embracing variance means that you have to accept it, but I still try to reduce if it doesn't cost anything. By costing I mean, for example, playing ultra tight would also reduce variance, but it also reduced the win rate.
      Running it twice, however, has no adverse negative whatsoever, which is why I would always do it.

    What about playng a 3bet or fold strategy? Also from the button... I started to implement it from a couplw.of month and doing much better. More aggression, more hup pot, not capping ranges, ecc... My winrate benefit a lot.

    • @criostasi
      @criostasi 7 місяців тому +1

      Also because the main counter of an overly aggressive 3bet strategy is 4betting light. And it occurs very very rarely. Only top reg are available to do that.

    • @LivePokerGuide
      @LivePokerGuide  7 місяців тому +2

      Thanks! That is a very good point! I didn't include it in there directly (although I said: just be more aggressive in general) because I do sometimes call on the BU, but it is an excellent point and merits its own video.
      Would you be willing to talk about it on camera? Then we could do a video about it together, where you say what you do and how it has affected your win rate. Obviously, you don't have to, but if you would like to be part of it, you would be very welcome! I would love to do this video.

      Wow. Thank you so much for this possibility, but right now I don't feel confident in going on a UA-cam video... I'm more than happy to discuss some strategies in the comments.
      More about the topic: there is only one circumstance in which I flat. CO/BU vs a competent reg when in the blinds there are 1 or 2 fishes. In that circumstance I just call most of my range.

    Tip #2 is the real one here. Every once in a while I'll be having a really good night. Be like 500bb or more deep. Look down at a hand like T7s in the sb and call a pf raise thinking "im playingreally deep. Ill at least see the flop and play accordingly." Flop will usually end up giving me some sort of combo draw that bricks ends up costing me a significant amount of money that I otherwise would have saved. It's almost like there is a GTO God who loves to dish out punishment for getting out of line.

    • @LivePokerGuide
      @LivePokerGuide  5 днів тому

      Yes, that’s exactly the trap many players fall into. It is so important to be disciplined and only play the hands that you would normally play.

    I only limp 5%ish. I only play live so it around that. But the 5% is because there are absolute maniacs that sit down and trust me limping is fine.

    • @LivePokerGuide
      @LivePokerGuide  7 місяців тому

      That sounds reasonable. I am actually just working on a video about some rarely talked about skills in poker. One of them is to always have a reason when you deviate. If you have a good reason for limping, then that is absolutely fine. I do that too at times. But for 99.9% of players it is usually wrong when they limp.

    Limp with a strong hand is fine when you’re sitting at a table with some raising wars going on. And you have no more than 100bb. I know those spots. Sometimes it backfires. And it’s ok. Once I limped AA and everyone limped. Flop was AK7. The rest is history.

    • @LivePokerGuide
      @LivePokerGuide  4 місяці тому

      I agree with that, but I normally don't see lots of raising wars happening at 1/2 or 1/3.
