Another tip about the tape measure - you will notice that the tip is always slightly loose. The reason for that is to account for the space that the tip takes depending on if you are measuring the inside or outside demensions of an object.
Actually runway numbers have nothing to do do with telling pilots which runway is "suitable" for landings vs. takeoffs. They simply indicate the direction it faces, but landing and takeoffs can be done on any runway and usually depend on the direction the wind is blowing at the time.
Light Science Studios "landing and takeoffs can be done on any runway and usually depend on the direction the wind is blowing at the time." Correct, and the wind direction is given in magnetic degrees. So the runway numbers DO tell the pilot which runway is suitable, and in which direction a particular runway is to be used. (And in the case of parallel runways, the two-digit number will also be followed by either an R or an L, for "right" or "left," and the pilot uses the particular runway the controller instructs him or her to use.)
No, landing runways have springs built into the tarmac so the plane bounces just a bit absorbing most of the energy. Otherwise the plane would break up from the impact forces. Take off runways are built to be as hard as possible to allow the plane to propel itself into the sky from a very firm footing. It's all about the bouncyness and hardness. Numbers under 180, typically in the 20's or 30's have medium springiness for passenger jet landings. Take off runways have hardness's of 180+ Luckily, pilots know this stuff, even if the UA-cam community doesn't!
I was shocked to find out that a flame cannot cast a shadow. When I was a high school junior, I did my advanced chemistry research paper on the chemical and physical properties of the candle. There was a written and oral portion. During the oral portion I lit a candle in the darkened room and threw a strong spot light upon it. I guess the white part of the flame wasn't actually casting a shadow. It must have been a figment of my, my instructor's and the 21 other students' imaginations. I guess my grade should be changed. I don't deserve to have graduated with honors.
Actually James would be correct. It's a binary code that us PLC programmers use (they can be programmed to N.O. or N.C.) to start things. Most times they're used for a seal in circuits for machines however the binary code can be used to turn off or on (the 1 is on, 0 off) and is universal, therefore everyone uses it so there isn't a confusion.
Actually, a flame does have a shadow. If you aim a stronger source of light towards it it will show. This is because a flame is heated carbon particles and they do block light.
Maple Syrup bottle handles are there so you can break the cap free when it crystalizes or you can hang it from the ceiling to keep it warmer in winter. It's called a "stay loop" and it's to guide the positioning of cord wrapped around the neck of the bottle so the cord stays on the strong part. Its why on other bottles there are two stay-loops.
The numbers on runways DO correspond to compass directions, however they do NOT correspond to which runway is “made for landing or taking off”. Airplanes takeoff and land on certain runways depending on wind direction. If the wind favors runway 32, planes will takeoff and land on the same runway, in the same direction, to fly the plane into the wind, allowing for more lift, control, and slower landing speeds.
the only reason i watched this whole stupid vid was to find out y syrup bottles have handles, and its coz they used to be 5 gallon bottles, which had handles that were probably of use on a bottle that size, but when they reduced the bottle size they never removed the handle design.waste of time.
About 200 years before 5 gallon bottles were in use there was a container, made of earthenware, with a form of handle on its side, used to collect maple sap from maple trees. This was hooked to a spike, secured on the maple tree at a 45 degree angle. The sap was fed to the jug.Later boiled.Sediment falling to the bottom. The pure syrup is then separated & stored in a clean jug sealed (originally with wax or cork)Mighty fine on your pancakes too.

New Message, I started dipping my cheeseburgers in ketchup a few years ago. I still put ketchup on the burger, between the bun and the patty, which I guess is the FDA approved way of consumption. However, I'll pour a big pile of ketchup on the side of my plate and, then, while I'm eating, after each bite, I'll dip the next part of the burger that I'm about to eat into the ketchup, like I would a french fry. Why? Because this is America, damn it!
The tape measure end has another feature people tend to miss. It is loose for a reason. When measuring the inside versus outside of something. The amount the end tab moves is supposed to account for the thickness of the tab itself.
Dave Post did you know also if you were measuring say inside a window sill instead of bending the tape you can butt the tape measure to the other end and somewhere on the tape measure says the length of the tape housing. Its on almost all tape measures.

(just cheese on the bun, no meat, unless it's in the chili) i'm also the only person in teh room who didnt make a funny face when my boss told us she puts mayo on her hot dogs. (got that face out of my system a long time ago, when a cousin from out of state was visiting)
The shadow is caused by the incomplete combustion. If it was a complete combustion, the end products should be water (H20) and carbon dioxide (CO2). However, since candles can't completely react all the fuel due to lack of oxygen, the outcome of the reaction is different and creates additional carbon monoxide (CO), nitrous oxide (NOx) and elemental carbon which is most likely the cause for the shadow.
Pretty sure it's actually from the flame too, not smoke or another gas. If that was the case the shadow wouldn't be shaped like the flame. The flame blocks some light otherwise we could see through it, just the flame gives off its own light which is usually bright enough to eliminate the shadow
I was suspicious of the title of being clickbait, so instead of wasting 11 minutes of my life on this vid to find out the reason for the little handle on the iconic bottles of maple syrup, I took 10 seconds to check the comments to find out ... yup, found out. We all know that, but the idiot to make these types of videos just read things online all the time and don’t know any better, they’ve never heard of half of these things or half of these words
Indeed, facets. Like a diamond has multiple facets, or flat planes that can be seen as somewhat analogous to a face. So when a person is multifaceted, it means you may only be viewing parts of them given the specific viewpoint and circumstances, and may only see the rest if you change the circumstances and/or point of view.
3 things surprises me. 1. Having to watch the whole video just to get to the handle. 2. Not using the pointer to look for it. 3. Not reading Akira's comment with the heads ups.
I find the maple syrup handle quite useful for pouring. I pinch the tips of my index finger and thumb through the hole as the side of the bottle is cantilevered against the back of my other fingers when tilted. Significant control, actually. :-) Good luck, everyone!
I think it interesting that the US have to make two separate flag patches one for the right arm and one for the left. We just need one as either side is the same.
Nismo Jdm Oh, wow. So, you're actually forced to watch these? That must be a strange experience to have someone physically force you to watch UA-cam videos.

2:39 okay if you're sipping hamburgers into the container , then you're doing it wrong, if it's such a pain you could just ask for ketchup in the burger
Nowadays, with the advent of people who prepare food,at Fast Food Outlets. The need for condiment containers,in the first place becomes a waste of time.Your comment just simply makes perfect sense.Isn't THAT Amazing!
Or his finger for that matter. I thought he was going to state the obvious and tell us it's for frys. Hell no. Widen it and continue to try to dip your burger in it. As he slaps his chest and says derp!
who the hell dips a hamburger into a ketchup cup?????? no need to make them bigger its for fries, you can just pour the ketchup stragiht onto the hamburger if you wanted
I actually like smothering my burger in sauces because I'm a fatass, but I don't get a ketchup cup exclusively for that. I, obviously, use it for the fries, but every now and then I dip my burger in as well.
The end of a tape measure is movable so your measurements are accurate whether you push it against what you're measuring or hook it over what you're measuring, also on a completely different subject, wheelbarrows frames are shaped the way they are so you can run them into each other like train cars to push several at once by yourself
If there's no arrow on the gauge, the location of the gauge in the dash cluster indicates what side the tank is on. For example if your fuel gauge is on the left side of the dash, your tank is on the left and vice versa.
you realize he said "help the ink to stay liquid". Just means it takes a longer time to clog up. And yeah, it happened before the holes were added, the thing is that pens were used for pretty much everything. My pens at school never clogged up, while my pens at home do. Simply because I have a way to make a digital copy and print that out if I ever need it physical.
Actually, the hole helps the ink dry out as it is air dried ink. Think pen manufacturers want your pen to last longer and cut down on their profits? Haha, like sure they do.
Michael Alexander, you also realize its a rollball pen right? Yes, the ink on the ball dries out quicker, making a very thin crust of ink that prevents an airflow from clogging it up more. And since they can make a pen for about 0.5 cents, selling a pen for 5 cents each(or 1 cent each if you buy a big bundle), they make 10 times the profit anyway.

shanidar : I like wish both those words did not start with the same and I mean identical letter......."
shanidar was arguing that "I" wasn't on and "Circle" wasn't off, so no. the maker of this video isn't correct.
Andromeda Wolf would be correct if he said "one" and "zero" instead of "line" and "circle" proving his total lack of understanding of the meaning.

I'm really disappointed that there wasn't a practical reason for the tiny handle on a syrup jar. I watched this whole video to find out.
Ikr? So disappointing.
there was a reason when it was a 5 gallon jar, now it is just in keeping up with the original appearance..... FOCUS!!!!
Novaximus thanks to you i didn’t have to watch the video
thats why i often skip trough the video and when i find out the thumbnail clip is at the end, i only watch that video and give it a thumps down. If the video from the thumb on the other hand is one of the first or in the middle of it, i watch it all' and give it a like.

If you are dipping your hamburger in ketchup, you're using it wrong.
You...monster!
* recoils in terror *
New Message The hamburger. You are using the hamburger wrong if you dip it into the sauce.

Its on almost all tape measures.
when measuring my penis do I get the extra length? every mm counts ˓(ᑊᘩᑊ⁎)
I use the clock app on my iPhone for my alarm every morning. I know a bunch of people who do that.
Amanda Kulp Honestly who doesn't?? Is this guy trying to tell us he uses a traditional alarm. Why would you do that when your phone has a handy app that always has the right time synced with your time zone
Amanda Kulp I also use the clock as an alarm clock. I also use the timer when I’m cooking or baking.
Amanda Kulp, same
Yup! & my calendar alerts. I don't know anyone who doesn't
Jesus Christ you are all idiots...
If you didn’t know the facts about the tape measure then you’ve never used a tape measure. They aren’t hidden secrets that’s just how you use them
They never taught you how to use a measuring tape?

i'm sorry, _dip_ hamburgers???
edit: well since this comment blew up you may as well subscribe to my channel or something
glenna schoeler ik that’s what I was thinking
What planet are you living on where you aren’t dipping your burgers?
but burgers have ketchup on them already.. wtf
So you mean that YOU don't?
+glenna schoeler to each their own. i'm trying to think what i haven't seen dipped in ketchup. or mayo.
i am one of those people who has parents from different cultural regions (of the US) and the looks i used to get asking for sweat tea when visiting relatives. or our stories about hot dog chili. we definitely see the differences in how different people eat food differently. also my area around where i live has a somewhat unusual definition of a cheese dog according to outsiders. (just cheese on the bun, no meat, unless it's in the chili)
i'm also the only person in teh room who didnt make a funny face when my boss told us she puts mayo on her hot dogs. (got that face out of my system a long time ago, when a cousin from out of state was visiting)
But at 9:39, you can see a very faint shadow of the flame.. any one else see that?
c5 Gramsey Most of the picks for that one had shadows from the flame. Made me instantly think "you sir are a dumbass".
The shadow is from the smoke
Thanks for the comments! Now you know why I read some of the comments section FIRST before watching any vid.
Good idea!
It's only there for decoration!
And you use that time to write a loooong comment!
It took me only 30 seconds to type out my "looooong" comment.
And it was for the benefit of others who are smart, unlike you.
How do you forget what side your gas cap is on???😂😂😂😂
6:30 "Multiple faseated?" Um try again. It's Multi faceted (fass set ted) 🤦♂️

I Suck at Gaming quality content
We all know that, but the idiot to make these types of videos just read things online all the time and don’t know any better, they’ve never heard of half of these things or half of these words
Indeed, facets. Like a diamond has multiple facets, or flat planes that can be seen as somewhat analogous to a face. So when a person is multifaceted, it means you may only be viewing parts of them given the specific viewpoint and circumstances, and may only see the rest if you change the circumstances and/or point of view.
The maple syrup is at 10:01
trixsta54 the handle isn't for pouring, so what is it for? It's for pouring when the jug was bigger.

just came here 4the handle...
Me too :D
I find the maple syrup handle quite useful for pouring. I pinch the tips of my index finger and thumb through the hole as the side of the bottle is cantilevered against the back of my other fingers when tilted. Significant control, actually. :-) Good luck, everyone!

I think it interesting that the US have to make two separate flag patches one for the right arm and one for the left. We just need one as either side is the same.

I can't believe the gas filler indicator got past me for all these years. I liked that one a lot.
The Chinese food containers was interesting too.
Gas filler side is the side of the nozzle unless there is an arrow by it
I really believe chinese food containers are flat for shipping then put together in a box to support the food inside without leaking out the bottom. LOL But if you really need to eat it on a flat round thing, just dump it on a plate when you get home. (take out) :-)

2:39 okay if you're sipping hamburgers into the container , then you're doing it wrong, if it's such a pain you could just ask for ketchup in the burger
or pour it on at the pump...
Nowadays, with the advent of people who prepare food,at Fast Food Outlets. The need for condiment containers,in the first place becomes a waste of time.Your comment just simply makes perfect sense.Isn't THAT Amazing!
I was wondering what moron might try to dip his burger in the french fry dipping cup lol.
Or his finger for that matter. I thought he was going to state the obvious and tell us it's for frys. Hell no. Widen it and continue to try to dip your burger in it. As he slaps his chest and says derp!

Why do you guys have erections right now, calm down
Uhhh you kinda did. In your other comment.
who the hell dips a hamburger into a ketchup cup?????? no need to make them bigger its for fries, you can just pour the ketchup stragiht onto the hamburger if you wanted
it could be useful for shaing the ketchup with a wide table :V
ketchup shaming... is that what the world is coming to nowadays?
I actually like smothering my burger in sauces because I'm a fatass, but I don't get a ketchup cup exclusively for that. I, obviously, use it for the fries, but every now and then I dip my burger in as well.
First reaction to that was “whom the fuck”
Blitz-o-Byte
For that, you'd need more than the ketchup that fits into a thimble sized container.
The end of a tape measure is movable so your measurements are accurate whether you push it against what you're measuring or hook it over what you're measuring, also on a completely different subject, wheelbarrows frames are shaped the way they are so you can run them into each other like train cars to push several at once by yourself
Now on the flipside, not all cars have the arrow on the fuel gauge.
If there's no arrow on the gauge, the location of the gauge in the dash cluster indicates what side the tank is on. For example if your fuel gauge is on the left side of the dash, your tank is on the left and vice versa.
I'll have to check that tomorrow at work.Thanks.
all cars in the US and EU have arrows on the fuel gauge. it's the law, it's not up to the manufacturer
ゆうた I owned a Ford and a Saab and neither had an arrow on the fuel gauge.
ゆうた no they don't. Not the car I drive.

Most of these are bs
You're telling me that people don't know where their car's gas container is?
Dafaq? O.o
Rentals
If you're sharing multiple cars with multiple people it can be easy to forget which one has the tank on which side
Man, in the Northwest people don't even know how to PUMP gas, much less where it goes.
Gas container? I thought it was a fill neck for the gas tank.....
new car, rental, Borrowed. stolen. Many reasons you may not have a clue where the gas lid is.
Light doesn't cast a shadow. I had no idea!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
9:38
Did anyone here actually think a flame was going to have a shadow ?!
Well yeah because they do, if the light source behind the fire is brighter than the fire itself.
The clock app can be used to make an alarm or as a timer
And to see what time it is in other parts of the world
And get access to a stopwatch function, countdown timer (useful for cooking). Not an informative video at all.
10:02 is the reason I’m here
Me too 😐😑😶
Same, as I just got some homebrewed syrup with tiny handkes
I'm not using those ketchup containers wrong, that's how they're meant to be used
Also the holes on the pen caps help the ink to stay liquid, no air would make the ink clog up and never be used.
you realize he said "help the ink to stay liquid".
