Can we please just acknowledge Lin's writing ability in The Adam's Administration, cause that was savage!! Pure gold!! Also the line in the Ten Duel Commandments 'The sun is in my eyes, I am almost giddy as I watch it slowly rise above my New York City', it's perfect because even as he's coming to his end, he can take pride in the city he helped create, and that's his legacy, he achieved what he wanted, and he gets to see that in his final moments
I was actually thinking earlier "A. Ham, A. Burr, Ham Burr, Ham Burr Sir, Hamburrsir, Hamburg" (I have a VERY complicated mindset, please don't judge me)
Which is (one of the reasons) why I like the original obedient servant more than the broadway version. Imeadiatly after that line Burr challenges Ham to a duel
>Dear Theodosia, how to say to you, some time last night your mother breathed your name >And like a flame that flickered out too soon she died, she's gone How could they not have those lines included in the final version. That is amazing poetry.
I think it just didn't flow with the rest of the songs they way the renlods (I can't spell to save my life) and burn flow together. but I agree it should have been put in the original.
I agree that it’s a good song but it sort of didn’t flow. Also kinda made Angelica seem like a bish. Political sacrifice isn’t the same as letting your sister marry the dude you love. They did keep the important parts and used less songs, giving Hamilton 48 songs for his 47 years of life. (The last song is remembering Hamilton.)
It's got the irony-both burr and hamilton's demise was led by them betraying their "core value" Hamilton threw away his shot And burr did not wait for it
I’ve been a fan since 2019 and I feel left out with all these people who have been fans since 2016 (sorry this sounds really weird, it’s hard to focus while I’m listening to music)
The way Phillip said 'let him know we're on his side shows how supportive of his father he is. And then immediately after, Eliza's 'no, he'll consider this a personal slander, I've got to stop a homicides' show how much she knows Hamilton.
@Sil ! I feel like if they kept it then they would be hearing something from disney (cause this was back when Disney didn’t own it) because the song “let it go” is in frozen Although it would be awesome
for everyone that forgot the colors (and me😭) Hamilton - Yellow Burr - Red Washington - Blue Ensemble - Green Madison - Orange Eliza - Light Blue Phillip - Violet?? Jefferson - Purple Both (whoever was just singing) - Pink
Dear Theodosia reprised is beautiful, they should've added it in and have it be a super simple set, with Burr sitting on the edge of the stage with a spotlight on him. It would've looked really awesome. Maybe some candles around lighting the stage. Congratulations should've stayed and I know that they scrapped it to make Burn a stronger song, but they could've added it after Burn
The fact that Burr thought Hamilton wore his glasses so he could aim better, when he really wore them to get a better look and understanding of Burr. Also the fact that Hamilton was sure Burr wouldn't kill him, when Burr did kill him out of love for his daughter. There were so many miscommunications between those two. Yes I am emotional.
Bob The Unicorn He does not want his daughter to be parentless and become an orphan. Afraid that Hamilton will kim him, he shot him so he could live and continue being a father to Theodosia.
The fact the Hamilton didn't think Burr would shoot was ridiculously optimistic on his part. After completely betraying a friend, having called them A danger to society after following your advice, they don't typically see you through rose tinted glasses. Did he really think he could treat Burr like that with no repercussions?! Hamilton was not good to Burr, in fact it seems like he felt he could drag him through the mud and then everything be ok again because Burr would grin and bear it. Burr went from thinking they were buddies to being so sure Hamilton wanted him dead. It's pretty sad really.
That's why Lin cut it. He said it would have been to much sadness at a time I mean you have burn, then blow us all away right into stay alive reprise and finally it's quiet uptown. Thats a huge blow right there
Anjelica Schuyler this is why the musical was so much better, in one of the cabinets Jefferson dropped the mic and Madison caught it. It has so much more details. Though there's the ups of just listening to the playlist *cough* no Laurens interlude *cough*
Ugh I love all of these so much, especially the reprise of Dear Theodosia (ducking tore my heart out, smashed it up and then pulverised it) and Congratulations (literally a masterpiece I don't know what else to say). I didn't know anything about this period of history before Hamilton (I'm from the uk, so I never encountered it in my classes) but these songs add so much background, fill the holes and make the characters seem much more rounded - especially Eliza and Burr. Even Ten Things, One Thing shows that Hamilton really cared about those he loved, and he wasn't purely career focused. I love this so much aaaah
Burr: "Hamilton was wearing his glasses, why? if not to take deadly aim?" Hamilton: "I put on my glasses so I can see" bruh, he's just short-sighted, chill out
Imagine going into a duel with no intention of killing anyone then getting killed anyway just because you're too stubborn to apologize to your old friend

Alexander was more of a hothead here. More historically accurate.
Honestly i preffer most of those songs instead of the bway version
BennyBoi same
I guess Lin-Manuel Miranda made it this way so the people watching would grow to favor Hamilton and think he was a good guy.
@@Fatima-vx5ws I mean he still did great things, just because you have a few mess up and you judgement is somewhat off doesn't negate all the good you do
That 10 duel commandments reprisal was something else tho. He cared for eliza so much more then.
It breaks my heart that Hamilton’s last line in Ten Things, One Thing is “God I can’t wait to see her again”
Drew Welker plus that being Eliza’s last line in Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story
*a h e m* nice profile picture ya got there . . .
He did see her again on his death "bed"
Even worse: "I left her a letter. I could've written it better." Never satisfied.
Linus your comment made me sob
The OG Schuyler Refuted is just perfect, the “So am I” and “One day he’ll run Manhattan” it truly shows how Alexander is so proud of his son that he can’t hold the pride himself and his son is also very proud of himself
Apparently we rewinded back to act 1 nice :) *cough cough* ten things one thing *cough cough* not trying to be rude *cough cough* :)

"Sorry if your life is difficult without your wife."

Which is (one of the reasons) why I like the original obedient servant more than the broadway version. Imeadiatly after that line Burr challenges Ham to a duel

How could they not have those lines included in the final version. That is amazing poetry.
I’m genuinely upset that they didn’t put congratulations in Hamilton,
It’s a very good and important song to the show
I only think it was cut because zoo's weren't created until 1857 or close to that. So I wouldn't make sense. Btw it's 5:40 right now sooo
They basically just turned it into the bit in The Reynolds Pamphlet
It was cut cause Lin thought everyone was too excited to see elizas response
OOOOOH THE ADAMS ADMINISTRATION RAP IS LIT
AnimalLover02 I've learned the entire rap and ah it's so good I love it so much
AnimalLover02 I like it, but I prefer the show version, because of the 1776 reference.
Damien C. ya but that wouldn't have been hard to include in this version, there's a pause before where they could put "sit down john"
AnimalLover02 YA BET!
Katie ikr
It's got the irony-both burr and hamilton's demise was led by them betraying their "core value"
Hamilton threw away his shot
And burr did not wait for it
It’s so sad how they had to cut so many good songs off to have exactly 47 songs ☹️
“Sorry if your life is difficult without your wife” omg.
They had to have 47 songs because that was the age that Alexander died, at his duel with burr.
@@tHeCrAzYwOmAnIsDeAd Wait that's actually genius, whatt😭

Lin puts so much more in the BURR in Schuyler defeated. The interaction is so much more aggressive.
The way Phillip said 'let him know we're on his side shows how supportive of his father he is. And then immediately after, Eliza's 'no, he'll consider this a personal slander, I've got to stop a homicides' show how much she knows Hamilton.
the fact that someone shortened the original schuyler defeated should be considered a crime
Haylee Sci I love let it go
@Sil ! I feel like if they kept it then they would be hearing something from disney (cause this was back when Disney didn’t own it) because the song “let it go” is in frozen
Although it would be awesome
Kristen no I don’t think so because it’s just a song name and Disney didn’t create the phrase let it go

I mean, they also needed exactly 47 songs so
The fact that Burr thought Hamilton wore his glasses so he could aim better, when he really wore them to get a better look and understanding of Burr. Also the fact that Hamilton was sure Burr wouldn't kill him, when Burr did kill him out of love for his daughter. There were so many miscommunications between those two. Yes I am emotional.
Jefferson's Laugh and burr's daughter died a few years later after the duel so it seems the dual was completely pointless.
I'm so confused why did Burr kill Hamilton out of love for his daughter?
Bob The Unicorn He does not want his daughter to be parentless and become an orphan. Afraid that Hamilton will kim him, he shot him so he could live and continue being a father to Theodosia.
Emily Xx yikes
The fact the Hamilton didn't think Burr would shoot was ridiculously optimistic on his part. After completely betraying a friend, having called them A danger to society after following your advice, they don't typically see you through rose tinted glasses. Did he really think he could treat Burr like that with no repercussions?! Hamilton was not good to Burr, in fact it seems like he felt he could drag him through the mud and then everything be ok again because Burr would grin and bear it.
Burr went from thinking they were buddies to being so sure Hamilton wanted him dead. It's pretty sad really.
Guys imagine if the Dear theodosia reprise was after burn
*It would be another guilt trip*
That's why Lin cut it. He said it would have been to much sadness at a time
I mean you have burn, then blow us all away right into stay alive reprise and finally it's quiet uptown. Thats a huge blow right there
DogeOtakuGaming :3 *then blow us all away then stay alive reprise, then its quiet uptown, then can we get back to politics?*
lonnie I saw the actual show and in The Election of 1800, Madison says 'please' crying with a tissue because its after It's quiet uptown
Anjelica Schuyler this is why the musical was so much better, in one of the cabinets Jefferson dropped the mic and Madison caught it. It has so much more details. Though there's the ups of just listening to the playlist *cough* no Laurens interlude *cough*
Thomas Jefferson's coming home AGRRREEEDDDDD!
“Gotta stop a homicide”
Eliza is too amazing for this world
Ugh I love all of these so much, especially the reprise of Dear Theodosia (ducking tore my heart out, smashed it up and then pulverised it) and Congratulations (literally a masterpiece I don't know what else to say).
