hey, i have a 96 cadi and i noticed your window trim chrome all around. i have the trimming but i still have the brown covering on it. i was wondering how you personally get it off or if you got the car like that. thanks!
Right it's all on preference and budget I have repaired a lot of them and just wrapped the front and never had a problem. The way it ties into everything on this build there should be absolutely no problem....plus the long arms help

When you welded the c channels on top, did you have to preheat it
When welding just to the tube's no but welding to the center cast yes
Don't even use those ears, make your own brackets 1/4" plate and weld to your reinforced axel.
