HE LIVES!!!! You're 100% the best small creator on UA-cam. I find it criminal more people aren't subbed. Either I simply missed the last two uploads, or UA-cam is just being garbage. But hey it's like I got a 3 for 1 today. So there's at least a silver lining. (I just set it to "all notifications" so hopefully I won't miss another upload.)
youre using the basic Microsoft Synth provided with modern windows, which actually screws up the midi for System Shock, setting up Virtual MIDI Synth can solve this issue, allowing you to download Soundblaster files [or maybe a Gravis Ultrasound, if youre feeling modest], allowing the System Shock songs and sounds, to actually sound right
@@TheLumpenMaoist I actually used the songs from the System Shock Enhanced Edition soundtrack that nightdive provided as flacson GOG, so that's on Nightdive 😜. I actually do own a MT-32 and SC-55 so I could make System Shock sound really nice. That's on me though for using inferior versions of the OST!
Very nice video! One of your best. I can see your improvements over time. My only complaint is the audio, mixing is a bit weird. The music part blasted my ears, and I couldn't understand you very well sometimes. A combination of loud background music and your not-so-clear diction to my non-native ears. Still, much better than your earlier videos.
@@PraecorLoth970 thanks haha I'm still working on it. I do know some time so speak really fast or fumble over my words, so I just need to go slower and do more re-takes. Sorry about the music section I will turn it down more!
I played through the original on a Pentium 133 with a 4mb graphics accelerator a few years ago to prepare for the remake and it was SO compelling that I no longer desired a remake.
12:36 my god the nightdive studio is small. no wonder they delayed the project so many times! AND WTF ONLY 525 VIEWS I THOUGHT I WAS WATCHING ONE OF THOSE CRAZY BOOMING DOCUMENTARIES!!!
In a good way the SS remake kinda makes me feel I'm walking around the halls of Red Dwarf. Also... Runs well on consoles where it still allows Keyboard and Mouse. My copy is GOG on PC though.
@@sgtsnokeem1139 I can see it now that you bring that up haha. I have been meaning to try the Xbox one version, but I currently only own it via steam and GOG as well
I do wish we could have gotten an option to use the original music as well. Would have been fun for us who played that version first. The new soundtrack is pretty good though, but the originals are permanantlt stuck in my head 😂
1 hour review, why do I need to know how many subsections there are in the options menu? Why do I need to know specifically what each button in the interface do while doing minimal comparisons to the original? I seems like there is a trend that I'm not aware of where every youtuber try to waste your time by including absolutely unnecessary information like numerical stats of every gun and enemy in the game like they know what they are talking about. But forget the important things like consumable software for cyberspace which is crucial for hard difficulty. This rant is no means to offend you, but I hope you understand my point and write future reviews better structured and less watery. Bigger doesn't equal better.
Long form videos are very popular because people like them. Personally, I love long videos. This one isn't simply a surface level comparison of the two. It goes deep, and that's what I like. If you want that there's plenty of channels that will cater to you. MS-DOS Project has been doing longer videos for a long time. It's why I (and I'm sure many others) subbed in the first place.
@CompComp I'm not complaining about long form videos, it's about why they are long. I'm poining out a pattern in which youtubers lengthening their videos by filling them with forgetful information. And MS-DOS Project is not immune to this. Brevity is a soul of wit.
Finally!! Looking forward to this!

On PC, couldn't you swap the music files? I imagine they'd be names the same or similar.
I liked the hacking in the demo more. Visually it was more interesting to me.
