    I’ve probably watched somewhere near 100 videos on candida and honestly this one was the most encouraging, convincing, and easy to follow. You’ve given me great hope and I cannot thank you enough for that. God bless you and your family.

      Thank you so much for the kind words! It is truly appreciated. I'm so happy to have encouraged you! You can definitely get candida back in check. Candida is your friend , it just needs to be in balance.

    Great information! This video has changed my life! I bought my first bottle of kifir milk and yogurt today for my yeast infections. I'm changing my entire diet. Now, I am curious can you over do probiotics? Like by eating ONLY probiotics food everyday can that have side effects or is this actually really good for you?

    Hi donna. I think ur videos are saving my life. Thank you.
    Have been using alot of probiotics but 0 ZERO pre biotics. Zero. No fiber.
    Just added in fiber prebiotics, psyllium, inulin, soaked oats, garlic onion etc. how long does it take to restore gut?? Also how long u think its gonna take to kill off the candida overgrowth?

    Does it matter how long i have had candida and gut dysbiosis as far as getting rid of it. I think childhood antibiotics started it!

    Yes, you are right as probiotics pills did not work for me and i had candida for 2 decades. I did 6 weeks on diet with antifungals and did probiotic and felt no change until i made kefir. I guessed the pills are a con and prob die in the powder until the milk they can eat and live. Die-off for me was bad itchy torso, popping sensations in the intestines and gut that was crazy, felt like my insides were moving and had bad nausea and even worse fatigue, i slept every 2 hrs! Improved after 5 weeks and got better and better and i also did a home colonic with extra virgin coconut oil in the boiled cooled water, make sure to sterilize the tip with coconut oil and hot water. Pau de arco, coconut oil to kill the biofilms, food-grade diatomaceous earth and cloves to kill worms that can go with candida. Do a parasite cleanse first! The guy on candida crusher says not to drink kefir but he is wrong!

    Hi there. I have suffered with candida for years as well. I did not associate the fruit in the kombucha second ferment with that. I will give plain kombucha a try. I am making water and milk kefir, cultured vegies and kombucha as well. As soon as I stop drinking the water kefir and kombucha my candida comes into balance. My question is this. Can I put raw ginger in my kombucha second ferment without any worry of extra sugar? If so then I may try that. I have also mentioned that my dog had suffered from recurrent UTI's. She gets milk kefir and cultured vegies as well but still had symptoms. Her fix is apple cider vinegar, one tablespoon twice daily and she is fine. She is now 11 and she also had a little trouble when she would get into a deep sleep and would piddle in her bed. Putting her on ACV has completely fixed that as well. My vet thinks that I am nuts but you know, whatever works for you. Of course all they want to do is sell antibiotics etc. No thank you anymore. Thank you again for such an formative podcast. Take care, Paul Le May,

      Hi Paul! Once the candida is back to its balanced state you can reintroduce certain foods (like fruit etc) For 2nd fermenting kombucha you do need some kind of sugar or natural sugar to get any fizz (thats what makes it) but there should be very little sugar left over if fermented correctly. You can use ginger to 2nd ferment but you wont get much (if any) fizz unless you add a bit of sugar. But just make sure your brew isn't sweet when you are drinking it during your healing of candida and it can be a powerful help!

    • @PaulLeMay3218
      @PaulLeMay3218 6 років тому

      Donna Schwenk ok great. Thank you for the reply. I will use the next batch all without any sugar for fizz. Then introduce a bit of sugar for the fizz. I also find that adding ginger really ramps up the carbonation.

    Hello Ms Donna. You inspire me soooo much. My question is do the good bacteria from sauerkraut survive the acid in the stomach? If yes, how? And how much sauerkraut should I eat in a day to see beneficial results? Thank you in advance and blessings to you and your family always.

    • @CulturedFoodLife
      @CulturedFoodLife  6 років тому +1

      Yes they do! All probiotics in cultured foods survive the stomach acid. When they are taken in food form (vs pill) the food helps them make it through the stomach acid safely and acts as a carrier to do so. This is one reason I prefer probiotic foods over pills. Most pills do not survive the stomach acid because they have no carrier. Here is how many cultured foods I eat in a day: www.culturedfoodlife.com/a-day-in-the-life-of-a-cultured-foodie/
      But keep in mind that everyone's journey/body is different. There isn't an exact answer for everyone. It depends on how much you consume, what the rest of your diet and lifestyle is like and what you are needing to heal from (if anything) as well as far as healing goes. That being said having cultured foods is always more beneficial that not :)

      Hi Paul, When you are consuming these powerful foods they will assist the body in purging out excess toxins, yeasts and bacteria you can go through a healing crisis. This is a great thing in the long run, but can be not so fun for awhile. Diarrhea can be part of it as well. You can learn more about the healing crisis here : www.culturedfoodlife.com/the-healing-crisis-and-cultured-foods/

    Hi Donna, my Kombucha has been standing quite a long time. It has gotten very sour and my Scoby has gotten very thick. Can I drink it just as it is or do I have to second ferment it for it to be beneficial?

    • @CulturedFoodLife
      @CulturedFoodLife  6 років тому

      Hi Maja! You can certainly still drink it, I wouldn't recommend 2nd fermenting it. If you try to 2nd ferment overly sour kombucha it won't turn out very well. Keep in mind depending on how long your 1st ferment went that the brew eventually turns into vinegar. While it is still beneficial it's not quite as beneficial as it is in the earlier stages and it will definetly be more sour to the taste and closer to apple cider vinegar.
