- Today I take a look at the third RPG released for the Super Nintendo - Lagoon! This game is awful but in the best way possible. It's so "bad", it's "good". Enjoy the Review.

Your analysis is totally accurate. I beat this game back in 1992 and fell in love with the soundtrack; specifically Silence Cave and the town of Poper. It was so difficult I couldn't believe that I had beaten it finally. It is a fun game.
I remember seeing screenshots of this in Nintendo Power just prior the the launch of the Super Nintendo. I thought it looked interesting enough, but never gave it a chance whenever I went to rent a game. After hearing about how bad the game plays, I'm rather thankful that I didn't waste my money on renting it! Haha! Definitely enjoyed the review. Sorry about the absence in the comment section for your last few videos. I've watched them and liked them, I just didn't leave a comment and for whatever reason, never went back to leave one. Sorry about that😢.

I owned Lagoon as a kid and I absolutely hated it. I remember thinking I wasted my hard earned money back then.
Hahaha yeah it's not a great game. I've felt that way many times over the years.
@@RonManGaming and I remember I had just completed Final Fantasy 2, so I was hungry for more rpgs. Needless to say, going from ff2 to Lagoon was a kick in the nuts.
I swear, the intro song sounds like it came right out of SMT. Which is funny to me cause these two games couldn't be more different. Lol.

I played this like 20 years ago I think and the toothpick sword and music is the only thing I remember

people in my country used to call this game "crystalis 2" was extremely unplayable with such small sword!😅
That's pretty neat! I like Crystalis for NES. Yeah I'm not sure why they thought such a small sword was a good idea.
Love me some Ronman! Lagoon, not so much. Just add 1 inch to the sword. Who thought that was a good idea!? lol
Yeah exactly - the sword is often where people shut this game off and move on. I don't blame them lol.

I always loved this style of action afventure game. I like lagoon quite a bit despite its flaws. I found a nice romhack where it put him more int he center rather than the edge of a screen tohaveit sacroll, very nice
Yes that was actually something I forgot to mention in the review - how he walks too close to the screen. I hate when games don't always have the character in the center of the screen.
Great review but I’m gonna pass on this game. I’m still fairly new in the RPG genre so I don’t know if I’ll ever have the patience for this one lol. Cheers 🍻

The best way to play this game is to play the original on the X68000. The graphics are better and the YM2151 is a solid sound chip.
I don't have the X68000 but if I had one, I'd definitely check Lagoon out.

Hardly anyone has an X68000, it was rather expensive (it was the Alienware of the day), and most buyers were video game companies (they used it to develop games).
That Final Fantasy II box is in really good condition. I still have mine from when I was a kid displayed inside a plastic cover cuz it draws eyes like no other...oh yeah, Lagoon...um that game siggity sucks.
Hahah Final Fantasy 4 came out before Lagoon yet it's SO much better. FF4 is one of my all time favourite games.
