      Any time, but if you don't start giving us some cool secret info from Can Am we are going to have to pull your card! LOL

    • @banovsky
      @banovsky 2 роки тому +4

      @@justinsmith2958 Even the people at Can-Am don't often know what's coming out fwiw. I wrote alllllll of the OG Maverick X3 marketing materials going off of one front render and 3 concrete specs…the rest (photos/video) was filled in later and the launch was a surprise.
      Another item for consideration on the rapid progression over the years is simply: until you build a product and get it to people, as a company can you be 100% sure of the who/what/where/when/how/why? Of course not, nothing is 100%. At a launch many people will talk about "why didn't they _________?" Kinda depends…maybe it was not even a consideration!
      What is crucial is that when they give a demo to people like Jon, they actually listen to his long-term impressions and incorporate those improvements if possible. So instead of having Jon give you "cool secret info", it's more effective to tell him the things you want and hope he mentions it & in a few years it manifests itself. aka big tires, stronger parts, and so on. ;) ;)
      Whereas a DIYer or shop like Shock Therapy could slap on and incorporate upgrades to ONE Maverick X3, imagine engineering those changes into tens of thousands of X3s: improving one thing can lead to 4 other changes.

    How nuts is it how quickly these things have progressed? 10 years ago the hottest UTV was a 60 hp RZR with tiny suspension. Now the standard is 200hp and 24” of travel and internal bypass shocks with on the fly active suspension. Can you imagine what these things will be like in another 10 years?

    According to BRP parts diagram the belt temp gauge is using "Air Temperature Sensor 515176366" Good news is that the secondary clutch is identical (per OEM part numbers) to prior years so only the primary needs to be upgraded for a P-Drive. Parts cost are just shy of $700 from Partzilla for just what needs to be swapped if you have a '21.

    • @shocktherapy4820
      @shocktherapy4820 2 роки тому +2

      Thank you for looking that up. One thing to consider is the inner and outer clutch covers. The engineers mentioned we can’t swap out the P drive without those changed too. Not sure if it’s true. Just a thought.

    • @Aspenoffroad
      @Aspenoffroad 2 роки тому +1

      @@shocktherapy4820 I checked those part numbers too. The inner is different for the hole provided for the aforementioned air temp sensor, seal from inner to outer cover is the same as well as the outer cover being the same number. Sound mat is the same from '21 and even the belt is the same part number which I was very surprised about.

    I just got my 2022 maverick XRS turbo rr smart shox. Was really curious about that belt temp guage being infrared or not, cause I road it all day first day out and it never went above 90 😳 was taking it easy on it, but on my OG I'd be up pushing 200's in a heart beat if i didnt watch it.
    So I was assuming this one was only ambient because it's suspiciously to low.

    Correct me if I am wrong but I believe Mr. Smith implied that he believes the Turbo R is going to be slow i.e. “I don’t mess around with the slow stuff! Half joking or not that was a slam on the Turbo R! Maybe Mr. Smith should be reminded what vehicle set the pole position and was leading the race for the first 4 laps of the Mint 400!!!! I will help it was a Turbo R!

    • @justinsmith2958
      @justinsmith2958 2 роки тому +2

      Thank you for pointing that out. I will clarify. In stock form the Turbo R and Pro R are the heaviest UTV on the market. Power to weight says they will be the slowest of the UTVs on the market in a drag race. Between the two of them, the turbo R is slower than the pro R. This is all I was pointing out. That being said, once you build all UTVs into a race car with added weight and safety items, most race ready UTVs overall weight will be up to 2200 lbs. The power to weight difference becomes even. Also remember that most race cars in the pro turbo class make 250-300hp. This negates the weight as well. So, in stock form I feel that the Turbo R is slow. In race car form it is right there with the rest.

    So in the market for x3 however thought I'd ask the suspension pros a question. Most people On UA-cam make videos trail riding the x3 all you hear is speaks and rattling. Is this just maintenance of foes can am just rattle.
    LOL or is the same all other machines you see?

    • @ShockTherapyllc
      @ShockTherapyllc  2 роки тому +2

      Most machines rattle and squeak a thousand miles in if left alone. In my opinion it is prep and maintenance that fix it. I have an X3 pre runner with over 13,000 miles on it. Now it’s on its second trans and third engine of course, (keep in mind I drive it really hard) but with a fresh prep it’s tight and quiet every time.

      More sidewall flex, sidewall and tire pressure is the first stage of your suspension. Secondly, a 12” rock or hole looks different to a 32” tire than it does a 30” tire.
