A pallet cleanser, sherbert-sized, skirt is the perfect follow-up to a months-long, multiple piece project. Nothing in the world as satisfying as seeing a herringbone stitch come together... good filming. The skirt is perfect. Well done. - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
Thank you! HA! Sherbert-sized. I love it.... and thank you for noticing the filming, I'm really trying to move into a better flowing story telling teaching thing.
Ooh, I think that’s the same skirt I made too. I used a lighter weight wool. I finished the waist without a waistband. All my buttons were fake as I didn’t cut open the buttonholes. Yours looks great and so warm.

Maybe. I'm not sure. I am currently trying to utterly master my skirt making. After that, I'm going to move up the body and perfect my bodice sloper. THAT will allow me to move into truly well fitting dresses.
@@NoraMurrell mastering skirt making was the easiest for me. These days, I add more to a project to raise the level of sewing. I love to line skirts. I need to do a new sloper for myself.
Palette cleanse project win! It turned out great.
I love that. "palette cleanse project". That's exactly what this was!
What a nice versatile skirt. !
Thank You!
Nice to have a classic wool skirt that just looks good and feels comfortable. Well done.

This came out great! Don’t you love simple projects?
I adore doable simple projects that are useful and stand the test of time. They are the absolute peak of sewing.
Perfect palette cleanser! Also, I’ve not looked into 30’s patterns!❤
I have been rather surprised by the 1930s. I am falling more and more in love with the skirts from this time.

I also ended up not cutting open the buttonholes. I don't think I'd ever use them.
Traditionally, you could use a 3/8" seam allowance. Just in case you may find it easier. Thank you for all of your hard work. 👏😊
Thank You!
Well done. Keep inspiring.
Thank you, That's the plan!
Love this!!!
Thank You!

Thank you for sharing your sewing journey. It was a lot of fun to watch. Will you make a matching vest or jacket for it?
