Dear Nora I found your channel few days ago and I love how professional you are, you provide very good information about the art of sewing high quality garments. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and keep your personal life privated! My husband said your skirt fit you just perfect, love from TN
Love those art deco pockets and waist band. As for those dreaded zippers I will stand with you and say I too suck at zippers and I've been sewing for thirty years.❤😂
The skirt looks great on you I Love wearing vintage skirts sometimes i get my boyfriend to put a skirt on as we are the same size Good tip on ironing before cutting fabric
Love the sassy back kick pleats. Also loved being reminded at the beauty of top stitiching. Tip on yur zippers-Because there is a slight bias on center back, add a strip of the lightest weight knit fusible interfacing along the stitch line (pink edges to prevent show thru) It might stablize the fabric hand just enough. (It also makes it much easier if you decide to try the curvier side seam for the zip too)
Final project turned out nicely. Shorter skirt lengths look better on you. It took me a long time to get zippers right and that was because the way I was taught to do them was the worst possible way to do it.
I love a skirt that hits right below my knee for visual aesthetics. however, I really like how it wears when it's around the calf length. 2024 goals, Master Closures.
If it's any help, my research is showing zippers weren't hardly used in the 30's. They were still using hooks & eyes & buttons. Their closures and those of the Edwardians were Amazing! Merely a thought. Happy Hanukkah! 😊

I actually really like this advice. This makes sense and is doable,
That skirt is just Darling
Thank You! ....I may be currently ripping out the waistband due to fit issues that I can no longer deny.
Very elegant.

2024 goal is to master both hook and eye closures, and zippers. I want the finishing elements to become *chef kiss*. GOALS!!!!
❤
Cute skirt, see what lack of supervision and no garlic bread can do?
Motivation is everything,
