Eastwood HotCoat PCS 1000 Powder Coating System Update
We want to bring you and update with the Eastwood Elite HotCoat PCS 1000. It's been a few weeks since we received our first Eastwood HotCoat PCS 1000 and since then we've also received a replacement machine as well as a replacement gun to compare to the first and second gun that came with those machines.
What we've figured from testing is that the issue I was having was only with the first machine that was sent out as there have been no issues with the second machine as well as the 3rd gun that was sent out.
In all Eastwood Company has more than taken care of any issues that we've had. They took care of them in a timely manner and I'm extremely happy with the purchase.
If you're looking to step up to the Eastwood Elite HotCoat PCS 1000, it's very much worth the purchase!

    Thank you bro
Appreciate your review. I have had mine for about 6 months. I got a little side hustle building bikes, performance upgrades etc. I actually went and taught myself how to paint a solid paint job and am currently learning how to tape for old school flame /ghost flame art.. As for coating I did a year of eastwoods entry level gun, learned the basics and decided to go with something that would step up my quality of work with this pro system. Anyway, appreciate the channel and your video

Nice update video man. Thanks for the follow-up. Glad to hear that Eastwood is taking care of you. I've been on the fence with this new PC system and it helps to get some honest feedback from a consumer and not someone that is a paid reviewer!

You don’t need a thick wire for ground. That’s a misconception. There is almost no current used in powder coating. Wire thickness relates to current draw. It has nothing to do with the quality of ground. A lot of powder coasters don’t understand electrical engineering. What matters is that the ground is solid. One thing about pounding a ground stake into the ground, is to make sure that the ground is not shielded from the rain. In dry areas, a ground stake can give a worse ground than electrical building ground, if the stake isn’t continually moist in the soil. You might to pour a pint of water on the stake a couple of times a day to keep it wet enough for good grounding, if its dry.
If you seem to be having grounding problems, get a cheap voltmeter (always a good idea to have), and check ground to neutral. It should be almost zero ohms. If it is, when you wiggle the connections, the grounding isn’t your problem, it’s something else. I use a 12 gauge grounding wire to the ground buss in the breaker box. That’s an excellent ground.
I subscribed because I’m interested in your progress. Good luck with the channel, and stay safe.

Mel Gross Thanks for the tip, most Greatly appreciated. We duke ran water on earth ground as to make sure it works great. Part of the reason for a larger clamp as we wanted it to be able to affixed to the piece better. Most greatly appreciated for the tip though, and thank you for your support.

Just a question, do you use earth ground only? Not using thr inside earth at all? Or do you combine them! From Norway

Hey man, vids a little old but im looking into this set up for my little buisness im firing up. Is it worth the money, and was it a pain in the ass to get it working properly?

They system is not the worst, we were able to build our business pretty well starting off with this system, although we did upgrade within about 6 months, the machine did pay for itself as well as make the money needed to purchase a more professional system around the $2500 - $3000 range. If you're doing single coats you will have some issues, but not as many as you would with the duel voltage. If you're going to be doing a lot of two coat projects then you will run into issues with 2nd coats for sure. As far as setting it up it was not hard at all, but we do suggest using an earth ground for sure and that's not something they really tell you when purchasing it.

@@710performance yeah we have a good earth ground right outside, I just wanna be able to get going and not need to worry about issues for a bit, i can upgrade later. As long as I do solid prep work, and take good pictures I'm ok with that for a while.

I have had nothing but issues with ours. The 2nd coat or clear coat has been an absolute nightmare. I’m hoping we can get it replaced but I think it’s most likely just a terrible system and we’ll have the same problems on a new one.

We were having some troubles dialing the air in too. To start we’re only running max 40 psi into the machine (sometimes less) then we turned the air on the gun and on the fluidizer all the way down, and started going up slowly in increments till we got it the way we wanted it.

How do you do the Earth ground

    • @710performance
      @710performance  4 роки тому

MARK GOMEZ an earth ground is a copper rod 8’ to 12’ long that is pounded into the ground with about an inch sticking out. You then hook your ground to it.

I’ve found that over the last few years almost everything I’ve had sent to me, from everyone, if it has sheet metal, such as a cabinet, comes dented, or even twisted. I recently bought a welding vise from Stronghand tools, a top supplier, and it had the vise handle bent during shipping.
