If you have a microphone on your Cardo (or whatever headset you have paired), you can zoom/unzoom the map using voice commands. This saves doing the pinch which is awkward on the Road Glide due to the screen's distance from the rider.
With the map open, give the mic/phone button (above the right turn signal) a quick tap. You'll hear a bleep. Then say "zoom in" or "zoom out". The map will respond and you'll hear a voice prompt... "Setting Map to Zoom Level X" Where X is one of 11 zoom levels (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20). You can go directly to a zoom level. For example say "Zoom level 10". When you execute a zoom command, the map will re-center on your location.
These commands are totally undocumented. I discovered them when I was just messing around one day.
There are weather commands, but I've never been able to explore them because my old iPhone can't do a 5 GHz WiFi connection. If I say 'Weather Overlay' my bike responds "You need an internet connection for that".

Mark you're spot on about lack of dealer info on the infotainment features. After seeing your presentation, I may just get the subscription. Thanks for sharing this video-I just subscribed and, I bought the same grips! Thanks again-ride safe!

Good tip on the Morecast… hadn’t heard of that. Weather and traffic overlays … definitely a great tool for long roads.

Thanks for update on the maps and weather on the new skyline os, no one else has mentioned this yet.
I use the Boom GTS nav on my 2019 RGS all the time so very interested on any UA-cam videos on the new system especially as I am an android user. Hopefully HD will bring an update soon to include zoom in n out. Not sure if the new nav has the option to show either arrival time or miles to destination like you can show on the Boom GTS. Im hoping to upgrade to a 24 RG later this year so trying to pickup everything I can find at before then so I can touch the ground running....

Cool information. If possible make a video in use. I thought the bike itself had all this not a phone

Indian Challenger has weather overlay also

Thanks Rev. I have been on the fence with nav purchase since I purchased my bike. You've answered my question about weather overlay. I use my radar and waze predominately but this could be game changer. You can always leave waze running in the background to hear traffic alerts while using other navigational apps. So the Cardo is that much better user interface than the Sena that I need to invest? I just bought the Sena 50 last year.

Can you use the pinch mode while riding? Is the only way to get GPS is to buy it?

  • @jar7166

You still have the Sena. ???

Can you check or does anyone that bought or got the Nav know if the maps cover Europe with the subscription??
Looking to fly to Germany and get my bike in around 2 months and not 100% sure I can get Android Auto working with the extra bits I will purchase to give me Nav on the way back...

I have just started to use this. When I do weather overlay it only works while stopped, It goes away when I start moving. Does it stay on for you while riding. Also traffic must only work in certain areas as I have not noticed it when riding. I figure for both you have to be in an active route.

      @idaslash 2 місяці тому

Same for me as for weather not there when moving.. big bummer of that'd the way it is... If so it's only really "live" when your stopped so not live at all while in motion

Nothings more stubborn than an android person that refuses to change to iPhone lol. You’re justifying spending money to make your android acceptable, where if you were iPhone, it would just work with no extra cost… even with a cheaper sena headset, no need for expensive high end cardo

Yea, I'm good over here with #TeamAndroid. If my wife and four children couldn't get me to convert to apple, Harley doesn't have a chance. Lol

My thing is this. Yeah it like $10 a month over 36 months. Well how much are you actually using it over the three years? In New Jersey you are not riding your bike from mid October to mid March. That's five months a year. So in those three years your bike is in storage about half the time. Then when you are in riding season are you riding your bike every day using the GPS, traffic and weather? Nope maybe 1/4 of the time you are riding will you use it. So if you do the math you are actually using it about about 4 full months out of the 3 years. That's $87.50 a month! If you are a weekend rider only because of your work then you are really getting screwed. We will say you ride every weekend for six months out of the year. That's 52 days. Just to be nice I will say that is a month and a half. That's $234 a month! And on top of it you have to have it connected to your phone. What happens when you are riding in a dead spot? HD could have easily set this up like satellite radio where you didn't need to be connected to a cell phone hotspot. Another thing. HD headsets no longer work with the new infotainment. After five years of HD making people buy HD branded Sena headsets at $300 a pop and a WHIM at $450 a pop now those headsets no longer work with the new infotainment system. But don't worry, HD has the Cardo headset that is specifically set for the new infotainment system for you. It only cost $389 a pop.

@@Consciousrider Just letting people know not to spend the $350 and think you are getting a great deal. I have a 2023 Street Glide special. So glad I didn't wait and get the 2024. $12 for apple car play adapter and it works perfectly with my Cardo pactalk.
