Tyler your herd is very fortunate to have a person of all your abilities to take care of them whether it be doctoring, feeding, and any misc things on the ranch.
99.9% OF FARMERS CARE. ITS THEIR ENTIRE LIVELIHOOD!!! You wake up before the sun, sun down feeding & middle of the night sitting up with sick animals. The food industry that processes are the people who don't care. We raise rabbits for meat, baby all of them, give them treats, he'll I have sat up at 2 am giving a stuffy momma a breathing treatment. Most farmers do what they do out of pure love of the animal. We became farmers so the ONLY bad day our animals have is slaughter day... and they never even knew what happened. Farmers cherish their animals.
Tyler I'm absolutely impressed that you're managing your herd all by yourself and you're a UA-camr. Hats off to you man. I was raised on a cattle/calf AND dairy brown suisse farm eventually taking over the day to day operation of the cattle/calf side, 400 mama's, calves and bulls on the ground when I finally left, managed a crew of rotating 20 and still felt overwhelmed.
Amazing! I worked only in a cat and dog Surgery Hospital, and thought I had seen the grossest, and I did, but I have to Really respect large animal care! Thank you for all you do! Very educational and kind!
I was roaming around UA-cam looking for something else and this popped up - since I love animals, I watched it. How interesting! I learned a few things and grew in my appreciation of farmers. Thanks, Tyler. You seem to really care about your animals.
This happens to outdoor cats, sometimes, too. The skin heals over the infection, then that all builds up underneath and eventually blows out. Sometimes you have to stitch it up with a stent so it keeps draining, instead of healing over and rupturing again. It's nasty, lol. You see a blow out for the first time and you think they cat is going to die from it, but as long as you clean them up, maybe give them some antibiotics, it heals. I guess I'm a cat-herder.
My ragdoll cat has had a few abscesses, and I’m grateful I knew what to do to clean them up and get them to heal. She was so good for me, too. I must have saved a ton of money by doing it myself instead of taking her to the vet. A different cat we had years and years ago had an infection in her uterus, and that’s was pretty gross. We got her spayed and she was fine.
