I'm a farm girl and nurse. First very impressed with that half circle gate. Very cool. Thank you sir for being a farmer and feeding all of us, you work very hard without vacations. Thank you. Black Angus are some of the most stubborn cows there are. I needed a heart valve replacement and they gave me a cow valve. Told them I wanted a black Angus one just for that reason. Praise God for all blessings
When you are feeling sick you need your family around to give you comfort. Cows are much the same.
It’s so nice to see a farmer take care of your cattle
😢
Clay in the wound. Sounds like an old Indian remedy. Something new to us.
Thank you.
It’s great to see people being gentle and loving with their “stock” animals. She definitely seemed happier and had a spring in her step when she went back to the field.
I love watching someone who can think outside the box and is flexible.
So interesting. I'm not a farm girl but I enjoy watching these videos. My heart goes out to sick animals and I love the way you care for them so well.
78yr old countyboy. I admire your gentle behavior and bedside manors. Great job. On some open wounds, I've actually applied antibodies to the wound. Had great healing results.
Growing up in the 1970's, i always had a respect for farmers but as i got older, that respect grew tremendously! This was warranted as i grew to have so much knowledge more about all of what they do for their animals. I think 99% of all farmers are amazing people to say the least! They have to be! Good job Tyler!!
I used to stay on a farm in the summer and if you want to fall asleep in your supper plate this is the life for you.
@@updownstate So true. It is super long days and harder word than most people would ever know. They think its just walking around doing different things when in fact, its chasing the pigs and getting them back in the pen. Its baily hay and lifting those bails when you have already put in 8-10 hours that day. Then, you have to go home and do what you need to keep your life moving, such as laundry, dinner and children as well as the shopping and parent teacher conferences. Like i said...most people have no idea what it all entails....and yes, falling asleep in your dinner plate is a known side effect...lol

That must be so awful painful how do you numb it up report animal
@@LindaKing-lf8nkhave you ever had an abscess? Instant relief from the pain the second it is lanced! No need to numb it at all. I had one under my arm once! It squirted all over the doctors office
We had cows and doctored them up when they were in need! I’m a retired RN and I watched Dr. Pol. Not a week later momma cow stepped on her newborns leg which caused a compound fracture. Did what I saw on tv and that puppy healed beautifully!
Brilliant!
@@kristilisakleiner9384 thank you! Mamma cow had her whole neck and head right in my face! I was sweating it ( knowing she could send me flying with one flip of her head) but she just wanted to see what we were doing to her baby😅! Did I mention babies leg heal well enough for her to sell at the auction .
Nurses are bad-asses! ❤
@@castielsgranny4308They sure are. They put the MDs to shame.
I love Dr Pol!
I have so much appreciation for you actually taking care of your animals. We used to live next to a farmer, who didn't care for his animals like he should have. Yes, he was losing money. But, at the same time he was neglecting them. It was so heartbreaking. My father in-law bought his animals from him, and they're doing so much better.
Finally, someone who knows how to take care of an animal ❤️
Nice job! I grew up on a family farm and it's crazy how things have changed! I'm 67 and I miss those days. You NEVER uttered the phrase, "I'm bored!".Much respect to guys who are still hanging in there and farming despite how the economy is these days. God bless!
You sound just like me! I loved the farm, we had workers all the time, people in and out. All my siblings were home, mealtimes were nuts because you never knew how many or who might show up at your table. We fed anybody within an arm’s reach if they were hungry. I can’t remember not having chores, but they sure didn’t seem like chores. And I learned more stuff then than any kid does now, like respect, pride, work ethic, love, empathy…kids don’t always know these things anymore.
@@onebadpenny2138 I would love to go back to those days. You described my life to a tee and I even teared up at the memories. I don't fit in this world today.
This happens to outdoor cats, sometimes, too. The skin heals over the infection, then that all builds up underneath and eventually blows out. Sometimes you have to stitch it up with a stent so it keeps draining, instead of healing over and rupturing again. It's nasty, lol. You see a blow out for the first time and you think they cat is going to die from it, but as long as you clean them up, maybe give them some antibiotics, it heals. I guess I'm a cat-herder.
My ragdoll cat has had a few abscesses, and I’m grateful I knew what to do to clean them up and get them to heal. She was so good for me, too. I must have saved a ton of money by doing it myself instead of taking her to the vet. A different cat we had years and years ago had an infection in her uterus, and that’s was pretty gross. We got her spayed and she was fine.
I'm a cat vet!
Amazing! I worked only in a cat and dog Surgery Hospital, and thought I had seen the grossest, and I did, but I have to Really respect large animal care! Thank you for all you do! Very educational and kind!
Wow 🐄🐂👍
I feel like a city boy more then ever 😮

The abscess was in a tough location for your chute, but you got the job done. Hope it works out like you intended.
Thank you for being so caring of your cows, some cattle farmers are not.
Are these giant cow zits?
I got hooked on "skin repair" by watching Dr Pimple Popper followed up by Dr Enoch the Cow Vet. Between those two nothing grosses me out any more!
Great job with the “squeeze” bottle😍. Where there is a will there is a way!!
I enjoy watching FARMERS and learned a lot. Respects their herds etc taking care treating them well.
I appreciate you showing us you doing what you can to care for your animals. We need more farmers and ranchers that care.
99.9% OF FARMERS CARE. ITS THEIR ENTIRE LIVELIHOOD!!! You wake up before the sun, sun down feeding & middle of the night sitting up with sick animals. The food industry that processes are the people who don't care. We raise rabbits for meat, baby all of them, give them treats, he'll I have sat up at 2 am giving a stuffy momma a breathing treatment. Most farmers do what they do out of pure love of the animal. We became farmers so the ONLY bad day our animals have is slaughter day... and they never even knew what happened. Farmers cherish their animals.
@@kelliintexas3575 Yes but we can always use more ;)
I was roaming around UA-cam looking for something else and this popped up - since I love animals, I watched it. How interesting! I learned a few things and grew in my appreciation of farmers. Thanks, Tyler. You seem to really care about your animals.
Thank you Peggy!
lol that’s how I got here too. Yeah us!
Tyler your herd is very fortunate to have a person of all your abilities to take care of them whether it be doctoring, feeding, and any misc things on the ranch.
I'm ALWAYS happy 😊 to see Buddy🥰
I remember my granddad and dad having to do that. Glad you are aware of your cattle and no how to treat them with they need it! good job!!
Tyler I'm absolutely impressed that you're managing your herd all by yourself and you're a UA-camr. Hats off to you man. I was raised on a cattle/calf AND dairy brown suisse farm eventually taking over the day to day operation of the cattle/calf side, 400 mama's, calves and bulls on the ground when I finally left, managed a crew of rotating 20 and still felt overwhelmed.
Thanks for sharing farmer tyler ranch your cows look amazing and I hate when that happens to cattle but it's part of farm life.
This is the life right there. Not the best smelling life but still, the most peaceful and interesting life. I would love to live this kind of life. Good to see he is such a good farmer treating his livestock as if they were family.
You were so kind to her. You are a true gentleman. Thank you for helping her.
I love farmers! This man is intelligent, and he's willing to do what it takes to get the job done!
Great work on the abscess. Its good to see you taking such good care of your cattle.
I like the practical way you farmers think! The clay & t-shirt bandage is just the right thing!
Those bottle babies are the best helpers😊 We had one that we kept for about 15 years. She was better at working cows than any human.
Absolutely love seeing genuine care for these animals. I'm sure you've helped so much, so quickly with that 🐮
Well Dr FTR, another patient tended to. 🙃 the feeder was looking good from what I could see, and of course Cali is keeping guard. See you again.
You are such a kind man! You take such good care of your livestock!
Great job! I was worried that your hand and fingers were at major risk of being broken or crushed. You were a pleasure to watch and listen to. It's obvious you really care about your cows. You are incredible!
Great job : I love the compassion you have for your animals, Thank you for sharing .
Oh yes , the joys of animal care and making due with what you have. Always fun, NOT! But essential. Great job 👍 and always good to see Buddy 😊
Wow! A gentle farmer. Lovely to see kindness towards livestock for a change.
Taking care of the girls.
Bravo Tyler! That was some great ‘on the fly’ thinking!! 🤣🤣🤣
Haha!
Great farmers love their livestock like family. My dad did and kids we appreciated the amazing experiences I’ve learned. So glad you love yours too!❤️❤️
Thanks for the warning because I am just finishing off a beautiful breakfast! LOL!
As interesting and informative as ever, keep safe and well. Best wishes from the North Norfolk coast UK 🇬🇧🇺🇦
These are the best videos. The real side of farming stuff
Really impressive how you handled that wound 👍
It’s 2023 now and in relooking at this vid, there is such a difference in your ranch here compared to now in that you’ve had so much rain in ‘23, a whole different scenario for you. I’ll be glad when you don’t have to deal with so much rain. God’s blessings to you and your family!❤❤❤
Woohoo! You're a handsome dude! Haircut & trim looks great.
What a beautiful farm you have! Brings back great memories of me helping my Dad and growing up on the farm. I'm an old lady now but it was a very happy time! Thanks for sharing and God bless! 🐄🐃🐓🚜👴
Great job taking good care of your sweet cow! You are very patient!
Bring it on Tyler. The messier the better. I'm eating diner. I'm a nurse and deal with abscesses all the time. Don't faze me. Keep the videos coming
You have a great setup on your farm,,, you handled this cow with such ease and control. Less stress for all,,, ❤
Oh yeah, abscesses! I worked for a small animal vet years ago and learned to clean those out. Cats get them as well, same procedure, less iodine use. Lol. Great job Farmer Tyler. I am sure she feels much better now. Thanks for sharing! Btw. The feeder looks so awesome. Sweet Buddy is looking great as well.
Is iodine better than hydrogen peroxide?
Yeah,I'm a small animal vet nurse, and abscesses are our favourite ;)
@@LSUTigerMom yup, hydrogen peroxide is less favoured as it is a lot more cytotoxic (causes cell death), even though it feels more effective by fizzing when it touches blood. The current recommendation in Australia atm is definitely iodine over peroxide :)
@@LSUTigerMom peroxide removes the good bacteria as well as the bad, iodine is a much better cleansing solution in these situations. It is the same with humans as well if you were to get a cut you would want to try using iodine instead of peroxide as well because it will remove the good bacteria from the cut leaving it more susceptible to infection.
@@Cook-hb2nf Thank you so much for explaining!
A city girl here. I just watched a video where a vet cleaned out a massive abscess on a cow's hind leg. The vet followed everything I've been seeing doctors do on humans with abscesses for many months, lately. It was amazing. Then your video popped up. Wow, you did this all by yourself, although the abscess was blown open, and you tried to get some of the remaining gunk out. I'm amazed to see how your treated the wound. Either you are too far away from vets, are too broke, or else just know what to too. Again, I'm a city girl, so I'm ignorant on these matters of animal husbandry. That poor cow knew she was hurting & didn't want your undivided attention with this, lol. It's so different from the curious & smoochie dairy cow videos I've seen... ut I'd be running away too if I was in pain, too. Anyway, good job. Farmers are renowned to be jack-of-all-trades, and know how to solve problems. You did a good job keeping that wound covered. I'll look to see if youve posted an update video, otherwise I'll assume that all healed up nicely.
I liked the way you warned city folks about the not so glamorous parts of farm life. Love the videos - thanks for sharing!!!
Awe! You took such good care of her. It’s nice to see cows being treated well.
I knew a fallow deer named Kevin who had a much larger one above his shoulders. He had chipped a scapula or a spinus process of a vertebra up there, I don't remember which. Abscess was much bigger than this one. We got him in a box stall and started planning our next move. He was familiar with the stall but very agitated about the abscess. He bumped around and eventually banged hard enough against the wall that he ruptured it on his own. Sprayed all over. What a smell!!!
Break out the hose pipe and bleach
@@DJRenee Yup!
We use bentonite clay as well. Handy to have on hand! Glueing the patch on was a good idea! Thanks for sharing!
You are the best farmer and carer of your animals. They deserve your excellent care! 👏🏼♥️🌟💐🌹
What causes the abscesses on cattle? I find this very interesting. You’re so gentle with her. Great to see that. God bless you and your family for being farmers. Thank you for your services.
Bug bite, rolling on something that penetrates the skin. Could be almost anything
The list of causes is endless, sometimes it can be something as simple as a slight scratch that gets a bit of debris in or be something like another animal biting her or many other options, also they can develop really quickly too (even as quick as over night) or some can take days to develop so many people don't realise how quickly some can develop and so criticise people for taking so long to get them sorted. This one could of been there for a day or so and then erupted. The good thing is once it erupted the pain would of been negligible for her (I admit I get lots of abscess due to a few health conditions and the relief once they have either been lanced or ruptured is bliss)
Fantastic video. The way you look after your herd is outstanding. I learn so much watching your videos. Thank you!
I just happened to watch your video for the abscess part of it but found out so much more. I really enjoyed your in-depth explanations as to what and why you were doing things. Very interesting!
she was loving life when you put the clay on bless her
Don’t apologize for the camera pictures, I’m happy to see how good you are treating your animals.
Wow! Amazing compassion for your herd ❤
I think you did great managing a camera while taking care of this beautiful girl. Love the T-shirt bandage to keep the flies out and the magical paste in! I’m not a farmer, never lived on a farm but, I love the Hoof GP and how he cares for cattle so when your video popped up and said it might be gross, I was all in. Makes us appreciate what raising animals for food or otherwise, involves!💕🇨🇦
Exactly
Watch Nate the hoof guy..amazing caring man.
He's Wonderful, very caring for his Critters.😊
Good job dude. Glad to see professional farmers taking care of their livestock
I admire what you do and the passion for your animals and the love you share with them your a credit to society and humble person
Absolutely brilliant and I think your camera work was amazing.
You showed such care and I think your cow was grateful for looking after her.
Let's go U-tube viewers. Get Tyler over 100K. I can't do this alone.
Hey Tyler. I'm trying buddy
Haha thanks!
I really liked watching you doctor your cow ! You farmers sure handle a lot of things .
Well done ! She’s lucky you are so caring for your animals. ❤
Shots are no fun but I'm sure she feels better now! Buddy is a cutie pie! Who wouldn't love to give cuddles to him!!! ❤
That was a messy one. Happy to see people like you who really care about their livestock.
Thank you for your loving care there. God bless.
Brother your feeder is looking really nice and seeing the hay stacked out of the barn entrance tells me you are set for the winter feeding. I had an issue with one of my cows but I had to cut it. Nice video really informative like all of your content. Hope you and the family have a great weekend. Keep safe FT and keep them Cat like reflexes coming.
You are so kind and gentle with her. Thank you for being so wonderful to your animals.
Thx for taking the time to share the what and why’s, FTR.
It brings back memories of when I lived on the farm. They taught me the same things he does. It was the best years of my life. I really miss it.
I was around cattle my whole childhood. Lots of respect to those who still do it.
Dr. FARMER TYLER!
GREAT JOB!
That sore reminded me of when i had melanoma and they had to cut out a huge place on my arm and leave it open until the margin report came back at least a couple weeks!
Also I was the one to change and clean my husbands fingers when he got them caught in our snow blower. Yep lost top 1/3 of 3 fingers. Had to have partial amputation. So this video. NO PROBLEM MAN!
God love the Care Giver!!
Aww poor baby🐄 prayers for her to heal well🤗🙏🏼
Awaa you did such a good job on this poor Mama cow…. she behaved so well through out the procedure…..she must have trusted you very much. ❤
Love how shes mooing her displeasure as you give her the needles. I feel ya girl!
I love how much this video brought back memories of me back on our farm. I also liked how you used modern medicine and clay to address the wound on that cow. Clay has so many benefits. You can also use it on your face to clean pours and on bug bites. Nice to know that the Redman company has clay as well as salt. Thank you.
I watched one of my friends lance an abscess on one of her dairy cows. It wasn't all that bad. I think the cow actually was relieved as it was on the back of her leg. The only thing she didn't do was cover the wound. However it wasn't fly season either. Great job Farmer Tyler Ranch!
Haha, she's listening to you talk about her. 😅 Great video!
She probably feels so much better. ❤
I love how well you take care of your girls!
You're doing it right!! Excellent animal husbandry knowledge combined with practical good sense!
Man that is one big abcess
Theres nothing i adore more than a good abcess pop.
I think I heard you call your cow ‘dear’. That’s great! You must love your animals, you take such great care of them. They seem happy!
Kind and gentle caring for your cow!! Your haircut looks great, please don't get shaggy any more!
New subscriber here, I was pleasantly surprised to see you are in Lincoln! My hometown 😁...my mom has 10 acres off of hwy193. Most of my family is from that area. Penryn, Loomis also. I know farming is a hard job and I appreciate what you do! You can tell you really care for your animals. You are really thorough while explaining things. I will enjoy watching more of your videos!
Yes! Thank you for the fence tear down. I’m excited to see it go. Let the welding begin!, yes!
The way she’s looking at you lol she’s adorable
Good job! Love to see animals being cared for and not neglected. Have an awesome day.
Hello Tyler good job hope that heals up okay. Have a good day.
I appreciate how gentle you were while touching her wound and applying the clay. And they say ranchers/farmers don’t care about their livestock.
Way to bad you couldn’t give her some sedation for her abscess, on humans, animals ~ they all hurt!!! Cows are no different. Poor mama, hope she recovers well and lives a long healthy happy farm life.
JOB WELL DONE!! Love your compassion for your farm animals! Very very cool. 🇺🇸💪🏻👊🏻🇺🇸
